Brooke Hogan shares sad details about fallout with famous father Hulk Hogan
Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan died from cardiac arrest on July 24, aged 71, and Brooke, 37, reportedly made the will request two years ago because she 'didn't want to get caught up in a financial battle when he passed', according to TMZ.
Brooke is said to have wanted to protect her father from people she believed 'were taking advantage of him' but after many years of disagreements, she contacted his financial manager and asked to be removed as a beneficiary.
Brooke is reportedly set to receive a small sum from a life insurance trust and is planning to put the money towards her children's college funds.
Meanwhile, following her father's death, Brooke took to social media to pay tribute and to reflect on their turbulent relationship.
'My dad's blood runs though my veins. His eyes shine through my children. And our bond has never broken, not even in his final moments,' she said in a lengthy post on Instagram.
'We had a connection deeper than words, one that spanned lifetimes. I am so grateful I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens.
'We shared a quiet, sacred bond, one that could be seen and felt by anyone who witnessed us together.
'When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us. I know he's at peace now, out of pain, and in a place as beautiful as he imagined.
'He used to speak about this moment with such wonder and hope. Like meeting God was the greatest championship he'd ever have.'
Brooke also used her post to 'clear a few things up' regarding their estrangement.
The TV personality (who featured with Hulk in the reality show Hogan Knows Best) wrote: 'It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand.
'My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business.
'I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support. I begged him to rest, to take care of himself.'
Brooke ultimately took a step back from her dad in order to 'protect (her) heart'.
However, she does not have any regrets about how she dealt with the situation.
She said: 'I know in my heart I did everything I could.
'He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did.
'He knows how deeply, how hard and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.'

Vet turned TV host Dr Chris Brown confirmed today that he was officially off the market. Brown has revealed he is dating Queensland TV publicist Lorraine Monforte and that she has already met his family. The notoriously private Dancing with the Stars co-host has always remained tight-lipped when it comes to his dating life. But this morning, Brown revealed he was very 'happy' in his new relationship. Speaking on Nova 96.9's Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie show, Brown tried his best to dodge questions about his new love interest. 'You guys are so fixated on my happiness, but also my personal life,' Brown quipped. After exchanging laughs, the host asked: 'Is her name Lorraine?' To which Brown confirmed: 'Yes, it is Lorraine.' It's believed Brown met Monforte when they worked together at the network. The TV host, long considered one of Australia's most eligible bachelors, uploaded videos from his winter holiday to Finland in March. Pete Evans on going from ‘adored' TV star to ‘being hated'
Controversial celebrity chef Pete Evans has been fined almost $80,000 for unlawful advertising Pete Evans has opened up about the downfall of his celebrity chef status that played out in the media following his decision to turn to the paleo diet. The 52-year-old chef and former My Kitchen Rules judge told American doctor Will Cole about how he went from being 'celebrated and adored' to being hated by Australia. Evans said the hate started after he discovered and began advocating the paleo diet — also known as the caveman diet, based on the idea of eating foods that were available to hunter-gatherers during the Paleolithic era. 'Up until that time, I was celebrated, adored by the Australian media and public until I started talking about paleo, ancestral diets', he told Dr Cole on his podcast The Art of Being Well. 'I was attacked straight away. It was bizarre, I was like, why is this so challenging, triggering, why is this happening, because I started sharing anecdotal stories of people improving their health who had adopted this way of life. The Melbourne-born chef said he was labelled by the media and health experts as 'crazy and dangerous'. 'Dietitians would say this is completely unfounded, dangerous, he's not a doctor, he's just a chef, even though the information I was sharing was from doctors,' he said. The controversial wellness advocate said Australians had been 'brainwashed' by dietitians promoting dietary guidelines on the 'morning news'. As a result, he has to settle for getting his message and way of life out to the public through podcasting. Evans was aware his beliefs would be 'rejected', but didn't want to force it on people. Evans also set the record straight on the fact he is 'not opposed to modern technology in medicine at all'. The prominent sceptic of COVID-19 vaccines and masks was dropped from his hosting role on the popular Seven reality cooking show in May 2020 over his outspoken views. He lost 15 business partnerships as a result of the post. Before COVID-19, a pandemic he called a hoax and questioned the effects of masks and social distancing, Evans filmed his documentary, The Magic Pill, which sees doctors, farmers and chefs weigh in on the ketogenic diet and its potential to eradicate illness. The Australian Medical Association at the time campaigned for it to be removed from Netflix for spreading 'dangerous' messaging about health. Evans is currently on holiday in the US and will next visit Salt Lake City.
