How Costly Could Lazio Draw Be For Juventus In Champions League Race?

With the top of the Serie A table already looking extremely condensed, Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw by Lazio, a result that could prove costly in the race of UEFA Champions League places.
Going into the weekend, third-placed Atalanta had a five-point cushion over their rivals for those spots, with Juve, Lazio and AS Roma all tied on 63 points and Bologna sitting on 62.
The fixture list added further intrigue to that race, Atalanta facing Roma on Monday evening while Juve headed to the Italian capital on Saturday evening to take on a Lazio side that was on a six-game unbeaten run.
Desperate for the boost a Champions League berth would provide in both financial terms and the prestige of playing in Europe's elite competition, a lengthy injury list continues to hamper Juve's hopes of securing that all important top four finish.
Igor Tudor was once again without key defenders Gleison Bremer, Andrea Cambiaso and Juan Cabal, with that trio joined in the treatment room by Teun Koopmeiners, Lloyd Kelly and Arek Milik.
Kenan Yildiz was also suspended, and Lazio started the game in electric fashion, Matteo Guendouzi sending Fisayo Dele-Bashiru away down the right, the former Sheffield Wednesday man drawing a good save from Michele Di Gregorio with less than two minutes on the clock.
The Juve goalkeeper was back in action to deal with an awkward ball into the box from Gustav Isaksen, while it took a well-timed slide tackle from Pierre Kalulu to stop Dele-Bashiru breaking away again.
Tudor was furious as the two teams went down the tunnel at half time, with Nico González's poor performance reportedly attracting the most ire. The Argentina international repeatedly lost possession and produced very little when he did retain the ball, the Juve boss unsurprisingly replacing him with Francisco Conceição during the break.
The Bianconeri would take the lead early in the second half, a smart cross from Weston McKennie picking out Randal Kolo Muani who made no mistake from close range to grab his 7th Serie A goal in just 14 appearances.
Yet having done so well to get themselves ahead, Juve would once again throw it away. As Taty Castellanos challenged Kalulu, the French defender needlessly punched him in the back.
Just as it had for Kenan Yildiz against Monza, a VAR review led to an inevitable red card and Lazio were instantly back in the game. Di Gregorio made superb saves from Mario Gila and Pedro before Renato Veiga somehow found a way to stop Boulaye Dia getting on the end of a Luca Pellegrini cross.
Juve held firm, although it took another VAR review to overturn a penalty when a woeful back pass from Nicoló Savona led to Di Gregorio wiping out Castellanos, the forward ruled to have been offside.
The Juve keeper remained centre stage as the game went into injury time, tipping a shot from Boulaye Dia onto the post. But, in the sixth minute of stoppages, Di Gregorio made yet another fantastic save to deny Castellanos only to find himself powerless to prevent Matias Vecino tapping home the rebound.
The result ultimately leaves Juventus in fourth, pending Roma's result against Atalanta. With a win, the Giallorossi would go above their Turin-based rivals, while a draw would leave them behind Juve on goal difference.
After that game, every side will have just two matches left to play. The Bianconeri take on Udinese next weekend and then Venezia on the final day, Roma face AC Milan and Torino while Lazio have meetings with title-chasers Inter and Lecce.

Report – Fiorentina Pursuit Of Inter Milan Fringe Striker Depends On Futures Of Two Viola Strikers Fiorentina will pursue Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito after deciding the futures of Albert Gudmundsson and Moise Kean. Per Alfredo Pedulla via FCInter1908, La Viola's quest to sign the 23-year-old depends on the fate of the two strikers. Advertisement Meanwhile, the Serie A runners-up have put Sebastiano Esposito up for sale. Deemed surplus to requirements, the former Empoli loanee will depart the San Siro in the coming weeks. However, this time, it will likely be a permanent exit. On the other hand, Fiorentina are in the market for offensive reinforcements despite looking well-covered in attack. Indeed, they've yet to decide whether to purchase Albert Gudmundsson, who spent last season in Florence on loan from Genoa. Furthermore, Everton have set their sights on the Icelandic center-forward and could lure him to Liverpool. As for Moise Kean, he has generated plenty of interest from Serie A and abroad.

PSG Unwilling to Accept Offer From Juventus for Newcastle United, Tottenham Target

Randal Kolo Muani made a noticeable impact during his loan stint at Juventus this past season, tallying 10 goal contributions in 19 matches across all competitions. Paris Saint-Germain are hoping that his solid form in Turin will help boost his market value ahead of the summer transfer window. The club is aiming to recover at least half of the €95 million it spent to sign him from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023. Advertisement Kolo Muani struggled for consistent playing time under Luis Enrique, starting just two matches all season. His long-term future remains uncertain and may hinge on how things develop under Juventus' new coaching staff. Following Thiago Motta's exit, Igor Tudor took over as manager. While Kolo Muani had to earn his place early on, he featured more regularly as the 2024-25 season went on. Juventus kept him through the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, but now that the Italian side has been eliminated, the forward will need to determine his next move. Juventus suffer major blow from PSGAdvertisement Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Juventus have opened talks with PSG over a potential loan deal for Randal Kolo Muani, with an option to buy. However, PSG are not willing to accept that kind of arrangement. In April, GIVEMESPORT reported that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make another move for the French forward if Juventus chooses not to make his loan permanent. Tottenham are expected to pursue attacking reinforcements this summer, regardless of whether Ange Postecoglou stayed on as manager. Kolo Muani's next step remains uncertain, but interest in the 26-year-old is picking up. According to TuttoJuve, Arsenal and Newcastle United are currently at the front of the pack. Whether it's another loan or a permanent switch, his future could be one of the summer's most talked-about storylines.

Liverpool can secure DREAM forward swap deal

Nunez and Chiesa facing exits We could still see Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton go before the window closes while Ben Doak has also been earmarked for the exit. There are a couple more potential high-profile players at risk of being sold. Advertisement Darwin Nunez, 26, signed for a fee that could end up reaching £85m back in 2022. It hasn't worked out for the Uruguayan and Liverpool are now looking to recoup as much of that fee as possible. Then there's Federico Chiesa. The Italian winger came in for £12.5m last year from Juventus but hasn't come close to establishing himself under Arne Slot. And now an intriguing avenue has opened up - which could see BOTH join Napoli. Napoli reluctant to pay asking price The Italian champions are big fans of Nunez - and would like to see him come in and reduce the burden on main goalscorer Romelu Lukaku. The only issue is Antonio Conte's side won't pay anything close to the £70m or so Liverpool want for Darwin. Advertisement Chiesa, meanwhile, is currently seen as a backup option to first-choice signing Dan Ndoye. Bologna are being steadfast in their €40m valuation of the winger and Napoli could opt to move to Chiesa if they cannot get a deal done. © IMAGO Liverpool like Osimhen But Liverpool also like Victor Osimhen. He is one of three forwards now on the centre-forward shortlist at Anfield. That list also includes Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak. It's been claimed on Radio Kiss Kiss in Naples that Liverpool made an attempt to sign Osimhen by proposing a swap involving Chiesa. That effort was refused by club president Aurelio Di Laurentiis - who wants a cash-only deal for the €75m hitman. © IMAGO Osimhen for Chiesa and Nunez? But surely there's an obvious solution here? Granted Liverpool might have to make a concession on the Nunez asking price. Advertisement However, would anyone object to a straight swap involving Osimhen to Liverpool and Nunez and Chiesa to Napoli? The Nigerian, 26, is reported to have dropped his wage demands to something that the Reds are willing to pay. If you add Nunez's pay packet (£140k per week) together with Chiesa's (£120k) per week, you could make a pretty compelling offer to Osimhen.
