Hannah Martin unveils video game jewellery collection
British jewellery designer Hannah Martin has teamed up with French independent video game developer Sandfall Interactive and video game publisher Kepler Interactive to create conceptual digital jewellery pieces inspired by the character of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 role-playing video game.
Martin has designed five digital jewellery creations inspired by the in-game characters of Gustave, Lune, Sciel, Maelle, and Verso, which fuse classic metal craftsmanship and delicate fine art. Each of the pieces has been envisioned to be crafted with 18-carat gold and jet-black obsidian to reflect Martin's interpretation of the rich aesthetic of Expedition 33, merging the fantasy game setting and characters with real-life contemporary art and high-fashion elegance.
The developers at Sandfall Interactive then took the digital jewellery designs and intricately modelled them in Unreal Engine 5 to create a series of in-engine images that fully blend the digital and physical worlds. Commenting on the collaboration, Martin said in a statement: 'It is totally new territory for me, and I have loved being able to explore and push the boundaries between reality and unreality. It has been a constant dance between real world and fantasy.'
Additionally, Martin has created 33 real-life necklaces inspired by the design representing Verso, meticulously hand-crafting each piece in sterling silver. These pieces are not for sale and were created as a celebration of the game's beauty in an extremely limited quantity as a 'thank you' to community members and artists who have supported the game and its creation. Phil Tufnell gives honest five-word response when asked about Question of Sport axe EXCLUSIVE: Phil Tufnell was a staple figure on British television throughout his time on A Question of Sport up until the day the BBC shook up the show Phil Tufnell was on A Question of Sport for 13 years (Image: PA ) Phil Tufnell has admitted that he was not surprised when the BBC decided to part with himself, Sue Barker and Matt Dawson on A Question of Sport. Tufnell, 59, had been a team captain on the panel show since 2007 until he was let go by the BBC as part of a reshuffle in 2020. The England cricket legend was one of the most recognisable figures on the show, until he made way for Paddy McGuinness, hockey star Sam Quek and rugby ace Ugo Monye. When the new format of the show was shelved in 2023, ex-BBC Football Focus presenter Dan Walker suggested the Beeb may have, "alienated their core audience while searching for a new one" when they decided to axe Tufnell and his show mates. Barker was also upset with the way the decision was handled. Tufnell held no resentment when he was informed about his departure. Speaking at the launch of The Overlap and Betfair's Stick to Cricket show, Tufnell looked back on the decision and said: "You can't do things forever." He added: " They had been talking about it and what have you. I wasn't really involved in it. We'd all been doing it for a while. Well, more than a while, around 13 or 14 years I'd been captain. "You can't do things forever. They fancied a bit of a refresh. We were just sort of like, 'Okay, well, there you go. Thanks very much for the memories. I thoroughly enjoyed every single show. Loved every minute of it.' Article continues below "Now we're doing the theatre show. It's not called a Question of Sport, of course. We're all good friends, all got a very similar sense of humour. We all get on very well, so it's great to be back recreating it a little bit. It was part of our lives.' "Together they have ensured A Question of Sport remains a firm favourite with the BBC One audience. Sue, Matt and Phil's final series will be broadcast next year." An American has shared how he would improve the classic full English to better suit his tastes, but people believe he should try a meal from elsewhere in the country before making his mind up An American has revealed the one change he would make to the full English breakfast to 'improve' the traditional British dish. US native Kalani ventured to Blues Café Bar in Swindon to try out the iconic meal for the first time – and while he can agree it's good as is, he would make one change to 'level it up'. He shared a taste test video on his TikTok channel @kalanighosthunter, where he rated the dish an 8.3 out of 10 but only a five for the black pudding. His breakfast came with all the trimmings such as eggs, bacon, sausages, tomato, beans and mushrooms and included extras such as French toast, black pudding and onion rings. Starting with the black pudding, he says: "It's just not my favourite – five out of 10. I like the flavour of it, maybe it's just a constancy thing I'm not a big fan of." Moving onto the other items on his plate, he bites into a sausage, giving it a nod of approval and saying it's "tasty". From here, he squirts brown sauce all over his plate before scooping the beans on to his toast and taking a big bite. He was shocked by the difference in English and American bacon in both taste and appearance. He said: "This is a lot different from the US. "I wouldn't say I like it better than my US bacon. I like the crispy bacon back home but this has a lot of really good flavour." Summing up the dish, he says: "I really like this meal. it's very homey like a comfort meal. I can see why you guys love this meal, good flavour, good variants too." Sharing his favourite part of the dish and what improvements could be made, he added: "The beans and toast might be my favourite part of this entire thing. I think my next evolution will be to adding cheese on top of that." However, people were convinced he should go elsewhere to sample the ultimate breakfast. Commenting on his post, one user said: "You need to go to Scotland and try a Scottish breakfast with haggis." Another user added: "It angers me that cafes always serve rubbery nearly raw bacon, born and bred brit but I think USA bacon solos purely because it's at least crisp." A third user said: "When black pudding is done right it's the best thing on the plate." One more user added: "Good man, you give everything a fair go and your honest opinion is good. I hope you enjoy your stay in the UK. It's been a pleasure following you." A final user said: "Eat the black pudding on some bread or toast with bacon or sausage and egg and some beans."
