CM Mohan Yadav to clear several key proposals in Cabinet meeting ahead of Monsoon session
Apart from investment proposals received, Chief Minister Yadav will share the positive outcome from his visit to UAE and Spain during the Cabinet meeting.
Discussion on allotment of land based on investment proposals is also likely to be discussed in the Cabinet, sources told IANS.
On Monday, Chief Minister Yadav informed that the Madhya Pradesh government has received investment proposals worth over Rs 11,000 crore from the UAE and Spain, and multiple memoranda of understanding (MoUs) have been inked with a long-term vision.
The proposed investment will open enormous opportunities across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, tourism, films, textiles, sports, data analytics and artificial intelligence.
The Cabinet will also discuss issues to be taken up during the upcoming Monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, set to commence from July 28.
The Cabinet is expected to approve supplementary budget, official sources aware of the matter said.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet is also likely to approve key Bills to be presented before the House for discussion.
Sources said that the BJP government is likely to present a Bill on reservation for the Other Backward Class.
Chief Minister Yadav had earlier indicated that his government would bring the new Bill on reservation in the House.
The session, which is scheduled to conclude on August 8, will have 10 sittings. The adjournment motion, attention notices will be accepted on July 22. Chief Minister is also likely to discuss on shortage of fertiliser during the Cabinet.
There has been a flood of complaints regarding the farmers struggling to get fertiliser from government-run distribution centres.
The opposition Congress has also been raising the issue.

No Plan To Levy GST On UPI Transactions Exceeding Rs 2,000: Centre
New Delhi: The government has reiterated that there is no plan to levy goods and services tax (GST) on unified payments interface (UPI)-based transactions exceeding Rs 2,000. Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State of Finance, said in the Rajya Sabha that "there is no recommendation of levying GST on UPI transactions of over Rs 2.000 from the GST Council'. Answering a question about whether the government is considering a proposal to levy GST on UPI transactions of over Rs 2,000, the minister told the House that GST rates and exemptions are decided on the basis of recommendations of the GST Council. The reply came after traders in Karnataka received GST demand notices based on UPI transaction data. Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, also said last week that the GST notices issued to small-scale traders in Karnataka are the doing of the state government, and not from the Central government. Responding to Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar's claim that the state has no role in issuing tax notices, Joshi called the statement 'utterly ridiculous.' 'It is Karnataka's commercial tax officials who issued the GST dues notices to small traders. And yet, the state government is now misleading the public by pretending it has no involvement. This is nothing but an attempt to shirk responsibility,' Joshi said. 'If the GST notices had been issued by the central government, then traders in several other states would have received them. But that hasn't happened anywhere else. Why are these notices being sent only in Karnataka?' Joshi questioned. He clarified that under GST, there are two components – CGST (Central GST) under the central government and SGST (State GST) under state governments. The notices to small traders in Karnataka were issued by the state's Commercial Tax Department.

Looking to maintain double-digit profit growth in FY26: MHRIL CEO Bhat
Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India is looking to maintain a double-digit growth in its consolidated profit for the remaining part of this fiscal, buoyed by a strong performance in the first quarter, according to its Managing Director and CEO Manoj Bhat. The company, which plans to add about 1,000 rooms this fiscal as part of its overall target of increasing its key count to 10,000 by FY30, is on track with inventory additions, Bhat told PTI. "If you look at the consolidated profit growth of 18 per cent in Q1, I think that would be our target. In that range, we will look at growing our profits through the course of the year," he said when asked for the outlook for the remaining part of the fiscal year. In the first quarter, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd (MHRIL) had posted a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 7.2 crore against Rs 6.1 crore in the year-ago period, up 18 per cent. Its total income increased 8 per cent to Rs 740.2 crore compared to Rs 686.1 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal. In the first quarter, Indian operations continued to do well, and the "international operation is stable" but not "completely out of the woods", Bhat said. On the company's room additions, Bhat said, "Our inventory addition plans are also on of the additions will probably come in the second half of the fiscal or later in the second quarter". In January this year, Bhat stated that MHRIL will be adding 1,000 rooms by March 2026. "We are well on track for that. We will be adding quite a few resorts, about four in Maharashtra, one each in Goa, Rajasthan, and Madhya have started work, in addition, in Puducherry," he noted. As per the company's investor presentation for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, MHRIL has a cumulative base of 5,794 keys. It has two greenfield projects currently underway -- a 236-key resort at Ganpatipule in Maharashtra and another 157-key property at Theog in Himachal Pradesh. The company also has three brownfield projects -- a 102-room property at Kandaghat in Himachal Pradesh, another 39-key property, Treehouse at Jaipur and another 62-key resort in Puducherry. As of June 30, 2025, the company has 126 resorts across India and abroad. Its Finnish subsidiary, Holiday Club Resorts Oy (HCR), has 33 timeshare properties, including nine spa resorts in Finland, Sweden and Spain. When asked about membership addition, Bhat said the company added about 3,000 members in the first quarter and will look to maintain the pace through the year. On the company's European operations, he said that with the Finnish economy not doing too well, coupled with Ukraine-Russia war, and uncertainty over tariffs in the near term, not much of a change is expected. "As I said, if it is stable, we think that that's good," Bhat noted.

Karnataka government dilutes misinformation bill, drops ‘fake news'
BENGALURU: The Congress-led state government seems to have diluted the controversial draft of Karnataka Misinformation Regulation Bill, 2025 by dropping 'fake news' from its title. It was earlier called the Karnataka Misinformation and Fake News (Prohibition) Bill. The new draft is likely to be discussed in the next cabinet meeting and tabled during the legislature session starting on August 11. The cabinet had first proposed the bill on June 19 to stop misinformation and fake news. As per the earlier draft, if social media content creators were found guilty of posting fake news, they faced an imprisonment of up to seven years and fine of up to Rs 10 lakh or both. The new draft, however, does not mention the quantum of penalty, while also dropping the prohibition of anti-feminism and disrespect to Sanatan symbols. It explains that to 'communicate' means dissemination of information to ten or more persons in person, through publication, communication device, computer resource, television, making or altering bots that disseminate misinformation or any other communication medium with a wide reach. The old draft had said one or more persons. As per the new draft, no person outside or inside Karnataka shall abet misinformation to persons in Karnataka that disrupts public tranquility or the conduct of free and fair elections or incites others to commit an offence. 'Misinformation' means knowingly or recklessly making a false or inaccurate statement in the context in which it appears, excluding opinions, religious or philosophical sermons, satire, comedy or parody or any other form of artistic expression.
