She stated that the government had allocated RM10 million for CEMI to boost the local creative industry through strategic partnerships in concert and event management nationwide.
'I strongly encourage industry players, especially those in Sabah, to take this opportunity and apply for the incentive before the application deadline on July 10, 2025.
'CEMI covers two types of applications for concerts and events featuring international or local artistes.
The incentive aims to support the organisation of large-scale concerts and music events for 15,000 people and more,' she told reporters after opening the 'Ask Me Anything' road tour for the 2025 Creative Content Fund (DKK) – Music Industry by MYCV here today.
She noted that the growth of the concert industry in Malaysia has generated significant returns for the country, prompting the introduction of the incentive.
'In 2023, a total of 335 international concerts were held in Malaysia, contributing over RM498 million to the national economy. In 2024, this number rose to 408 international concerts, generating RM553 million in returns,' she said.
Meanwhile, Teo urged the arts and creative community in Sabah and Sarawak to apply for the DKK provided by the government as part of efforts to develop a competitive and impactful music industry.
'The government has allocated RM6.3 million for DKK. Three DKK programmes are being actively implemented, including the Music Performance Fund, which is open for applications until June 30,' she said, adding the deadline for the International Marketing and Promotion Fund and the Domestic Marketing and Promotion Fund is on Dec 1.
'Applications can be submitted via the MyCV portal,' she said.
Teo said today's programme is part of an initiative to reach out to the local arts and creative community and encourage them to apply for the DKK.
At the event, the Sandakan Creative Arts and Local Musicians Association received RM80,000 under DKK's Music Performance Fund to host the Sandakan Nature City Loud Festival 2025 next month.

Mohamad Fauzi said in Perlis, programmes under NADI such as entrepreneurship training have opened opportunities for rural communities to progress alongside global developments. He added that the initiative has empowered many entrepreneurs in the state, enabling them to expand businesses and generate income through digital platforms. 'Names like Corn Dough Frozen D' Dapur Maksu, Mama Nory Bakery, Port Creative, and Embun Warisan Kayu demonstrate how appropriate support can empower local communities to generate income, build brands, and enhance the nation's digital economy,' he said.

Nearly 500 Media Practitioners Benefited From Tabung Kasih@HAWANA So Far
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 (Bernama) -- A total of 478 media practitioners nationwide have received assistance under the Tabung Kasih@HAWANA fund, with contributions amounting to RM1.3 million to date, Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said. She said the initiative, led by the Communications Ministry and implemented by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), continues to support both active and former media practitioners in need of financial aid. 'Of this total, 56 recipients are Tamil media practitioners. For friends in the industry who require assistance, or know someone who does, applications can be submitted through the Tabung Kasih@HAWANA secretariat or directly via my office,' she said when officiating the 2025 annual general meeting of the Malaysian Tamil Media Organisation here today. Launched in conjunction with National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) in 2023, the fund provides welfare support including financial aid, medical expenses, family assistance and other necessary forms of support. Teo said the initiative reflects the MADANI Government's commitment to honouring the contributions of journalists and ensuring their welfare is safeguarded. She also announced that the newly approved Malaysian Media Council (MMC) is expected to hold its first meeting in November to deliberate on industry issues. 'I believe the council will actively engage with media stakeholders. Once established, it must represent all types of media,' she added. Teo also further encouraged members of the Tamil media organisation to participate in artificial intelligence (AI) courses offered by the Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information (IPPTAR), which now opens its training beyond civil servants to include media professionals and the wider community.

#SHOWBIZ: Siti, Dayang, Aina and Ernie top AIM24 nominations
KUALA LUMPUR: Biduanita Negara Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Dayang Nurfaizah, Aina Abdul and Ernie Zakri are "leaders of the pack" amongst the top five nominees for Anugerah Industri Muzik 24's (AIM 24) 26 categories. They have six to nine nominations each, in five to eight categories. AIM 24 which is supported by the Communications Ministry and organised by the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM) will be held at 8.30pm on Sept 13 at the Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting. At a press conference held at Premiera Hotel in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman yesterday, RIM chairman and AIM24 organising chairman Rosmin Hashim announced that a total of 130 finalists were shortlisted for the 26 categories. "The selection of the five finalists in each category were made by a panel of professional jurors, with the scoring fully audited by certified audit firm Mazars. "The judging process was administered by an independent body, Macomm Management Services Sdn Bhd," he said. The Best Album winner will receive RM200,000 while the Best New Artiste, Best Ethnic Song, Best Nasyid Song, Best Traditional Song, Best Unity Song, Best Local English Song, Best Local Chinese Song, Best Local Indian Song, Best Song and Best Music Video will each receive RM50,000. Winners of 11 selected categories will stand to receive a share of RM700,000 in Creative Content Funds from the Ministry of Communications via MyCreative Ventures (MyCV). Rosmin said that earlier this year, RIM received a total of 682 nominations covering recordings released during the eligibility period of July 1, 2022 to Dec 31, 2024. "The first phase of judging for the Best Song Recording and Best Album Recording categories took place at Timeless Studio on July 14 and 15, followed by the remaining categories at Hotel Majestic Kuala Lumpur from July 21 to 23. "The Best Song judging was held at Timeless Studio on July 29," he said. The judging panel comprises highly qualified local music industry professionals, including composers, lyricists, musicians, singers, producers, arrangers, vocal coaches and video directors. The judging panel is headed by renowned music director Datuk Mokhzani Ismail. The event will be broadcast live on TV2 and RTM Klik. Rosmin said: "Six categories will be announced during the Pre-Awards Ceremony on Sept 12 namely Best Single/Album Cover, Best Album Recording, Best Song Recording, Best Musical Arrangement in a Song, Most Streamed Song and Most Viewed Official Music Video on YouTube. "The remaining 24 major categories will be announced during the awards show." The press conference was also attended by Broadcasting director-general Datuk Suhaimi Sulaiman and Communications Ministry senior principal assistant secretary Noreen Iszani Yusak and some of the artistes, composers and lyricists nominated for awards.
