CBSE launches Career Guidance Dashboard and Counseling Hub and Spoke School Model

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on August 7 launched two initiatives – CBSE Career Guidance Dashboard and the CBSE Counseling Hub and Spoke School Model — to enhance career readiness and psychosocial support among the students for the 2025-26 academic session.
While the Career Guidance Dashboard equips students with tools and resources for informed career exploration, the CBSE Counseling Hub and Spoke School Model seeks to strengthen mental health support systems through a network of CBSE mentor hub schools working collaboratively with spoke schools.
Explaining the CBSE Counseling Hub and Spoke School Model, CBSE said: 'The model follows a collaborative approach: a central hub school will support and guide several spoke schools in its region. The hub serves as a resource and training centre, while the spoke schools benefit by learning, growing, and sharing together. This connected network is all about working as one — to build happier, healthier school environments.'
The launch event, held at CBSE Integrated Office, Dwarka, was attended by over 500 principals, wellness teachers, and counselors from CBSE-affiliated schools across India.
Speaking at the event, CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh, IAS, highlighted the alignment of these initiatives with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and CBSE's commitment to fostering scalable, inclusive, and tech-driven student support systems.
CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta, IAS emphasised the need for structured mental health support and praised the role of schools in guiding students through academic and career challenges.
The Career Guidance Dashboard which can be accessed at cbsecareerguidance.in is now live. A focused session also introduced the CBSE Counseling Hub and Spoke Model, which defines implementation protocols, responsibilities, and monitoring mechanisms for mental wellness support.
The event featured panel discussions, including a session by Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE Controller of Examinations, on reforms introduced post-NEP 2020. Stakeholders from diverse schools shared experiences on integrating career and mental wellness initiatives.
These efforts, CBSE noted, are part of its broader vision to promote student well-being and equip schools with frameworks for timely and effective counseling support.
'The Board remains dedicated to working in close partnership with schools, educators, and mental health professionals to ensure the all-round development of every student,' CBSE while announcing the initiatives, said.
