The Independence Day special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) season 17 offered viewers insights about the planning and execution of Operation Sindoor– India's airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK as three decorated women officers of the Indian Armed Forces shared the inside story behind the operation that rattled Pakistan's terror infrastructure. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh (Indian Air Force) and Commander Prerna Deosthalee (Indian Navy) appeared on Friday's episode of Amitabh Bachchan-hosted reality show. These officers had been the public face of the operation during official media briefings. What Happened In The Show? The Bollywood star welcomed the three women officers– Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force and Commander Prerna Deosthalee of the Indian Navy, on the show. While speaking about the ghastly Pahalgam attack, Colonel Quershi said that Pakistan has been doing such acts for many decades and it was necessary to respond to such terror attacks. She said that Operation Sindoor was not a retaliation, but it was a response that this is a new India. The whole world had to be told that there is a new India with a new thinking. 'Pakistan has been carrying out such acts repeatedly. A response was necessary, and that's why Operation Sindoor was planned," she said. Wing Commander Singh highlighted the speed and precision of the strikes, saying, 'From 1:05 am to 1:30 am, we completed the entire operation in just 25 minutes." She also highlighted her personal connection with Pahagam saying that she had spent a lot of time there. She said that Pakistan carried out this attack because it was upset with the tourism there as a record number of tourists visited the town last year. Commander Deosthalee emphasised the mission's planning accuracy, saying, 'Targets were destroyed and no civilians were harmed. That was a top priority for us." Wing Commander Vyomika Singh's mother also praised her daughter's courage and said that she is not just her daughter, but of all of the nation. Colonel Qureshi also revealed that her ancestors have fought for Rani Lakshmi Bai. 'I belong to a family where everyone was in the Army. My great-grandmother's ancestors were with Rani Lakshmi Bai," she was seen telling Bachchan. 'I have not heard lullabies. I have heard tales of bravery, and I have listened to talks that tell the meaning of courage," she added. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. 'Ultimate flex': 'Self-awarded medal' by Pakistan army chief stuns people; netizens troll Asim Munir

In a move that has drawn widespread ridicule, Pakistan army chief gen Asim Munir reportedly awarded himself the Hilal-e-Jurat, the country's second-highest military honour, following the Pakistan army's crushing defeat during Operation Sindoor . The awards were part of Pakistan's Independence Day honours on Thursday, conferred by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Dozens of military and civilian officials received accolades for their roles in the four-day conflict with India. Among others, air chief Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu also received the Hilal-e-Jurat, naval chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, and several fighter pilots the Sitara-e-Jurat. Civilian leaders, including Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, defence minister Khawaja Asif, and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, were also honoured. Munir's self-award sparks social media frenzy The revelation of Munir's self-conferred medal has triggered a torrent of memes, jokes, and criticism online. Social media users questioned the Army Chief's credibility, mocked the military's performance, and unleashed sharp humor. One of the user said, 'Wow, Asim Munir's self-awarded Hilal-e-Jurat is the ultimate flex! Who needs validation from others when you can just give it to yourself?' 'Not sure what's more impressive, the fact he awarded himself or that he found a mirror in the midst of a losing battle,' another user quipped. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Rates Undo While another internet user said, 'Asim Munir's Hilal-e-Jurat is like a participation trophy for showing up to the war and losing spectacularly!'
