Switch 2 ban linked to used Nintendo game cards
A Nintendo Switch 2 owner has reported being banned after inserting preowned Nintendo Switch game cartridges into their console. According to a Reddit post by user dmanthey, the game cards were purchased through Facebook Marketplace and triggered a restriction on online services shortly after installation and patch downloads.
The user stated they had inserted several game cards one by one to download necessary patches. The following day, they noticed that their access to online services had been suspended. Upon contacting Nintendo support, they were informed that their console had been banned due to a violation of usage policies. After providing receipts and proof of purchase for the used cartridges, Nintendo lifted the ban.

Nintendo's anti-piracy system flags
duplicate cartridge codes
Nintendo assigns a unique identifier code to every Nintendo Switch game cartridge as a piracy countermeasure. When a cartridge is inserted into a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 console, its identifier is verified against Nintendo's servers. If the same identifier is detected on multiple devices simultaneously, the company may impose a ban on the affected consoles or accounts.
This scenario can occur when bad actors use a third-party cloning device, such as the MIG Flash, to duplicate a game's data and distribute it illicitly. In such cases, the cloned cartridge and the original both circulate, but Nintendo's system will flag the duplicate usage. In dmanthey's case, the preowned game cards may have previously been involved in such activity, despite appearing legitimate.
After the user presented proof of a good-faith purchase, Nintendo support confirmed that the cartridges were authentic and could still be resold. This policy raises concerns for consumers who buy Nintendo Switch games through unofficial or second-hand marketplaces, where prior use history may not be verifiable.

Nintendo has long maintained strict anti-piracy protocols. These measures have become increasingly relevant with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, which features backwards compatibility with first-generation Switch titles. The company has also recently updated its user agreement, granting itself the authority to disable or "brick" consoles caught running pirated or modified content.

Delhi Police's Template To Nab Criminals

New Delhi: Imagine this: suspects involved in a string of heists are fleeing a crime scene. But, as they drive away in their getaway car with a fake number plate, they are digitally captured at every intersection, their every move tracked and recorded. Police simply enter the vehicle's number plate into the system, revealing its entire journey. With a few clicks, cops then reconstruct the escape route, pinpointing their location at each checkpoint. The suspects are then effortlessly tracked from the crime scene in north Delhi, for example, to their hideout in south Delhi, and caught within hours. Thanks to a new system being implemented, this is set to be a reality in the near future. Delhi Police will soon receive a significant technological upgrade with the integration of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system with their e-Beat Book application's picket checking and e-vahan search modules. The integrated system will seamlessly connect CCTV cameras and databases, making it impossible for the suspects to escape, according to sources. You Can Also Check: Delhi AQI | Weather in Delhi | Bank Holidays in Delhi | Public Holidays in Delhi "This integration will enable officers to scan licence plates in real time, allowing them to quickly identify stolen vehicles, track fleeing suspects and crack down on crime," a senior cop said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Born Between 1945-1984? Vice-versa, the system can also scan the plates of a vehicle at any intersection using the CCTV camera installed at the spot and check if it matches the stolen vehicle database, an officer explained. According to senior police officers, by leveraging this technology, policemen will be able to respond more quickly and effectively to emerging situations, keeping the city safer for citizens. The integration of ANPR with the e-Beat Book application will also enable officers to access vehicle details, verify ownership and track stolen vehicles more efficiently. Currently, law enforcement agencies rely on manual methods to track suspects, scanning footage from CCTV cameras at every intersection to identify specific vehicles or individuals. This labour-intensive process involves pouring over hundreds of hours of footage, often resulting in a time-consuming and resource-draining task. The manual approach not only wastes valuable time, but also diverts resources away from more critical tasks, such as patrolling the streets and responding to emergencies. Investigators and analysts spend countless hours reviewing footage, trying to spot the suspect or vehicle, which can lead to fatigue and decreased accuracy. This manual process can also lead to delayed responses, allowing suspects to potentially escape or destroy evidence. "The limitations of manual surveillance footage analysis highlight the need for more efficient and automated solutions, such as the integrated ANPR system, which can quickly and accurately track vehicles and suspects, freeing up resources for more effective policing," a senior cop said. Launched in Aug 2020, the e-Beat Book app has equipped beat officers with real-time access to criminal databases, facial recognition tools, and crime analytics directly through handheld devices. It also eliminates the need for cops to return to the station for record checks.

Bitcoin hits $121,000 - Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki urges newcomers: Reflect before it's too late

Bitcoin broke through $121,000 on July 14, a new all-time high, which led personal finance writer Robert Kiyosaki to highlight that it's great news for Bitcoin investors but also a wake-up call for those who do not own the cryptocurrency yet, as per a report. What does Bitcoin's latest price surge mean for investors? Kiyosaki, author of the best-selling book 'Rich Dad Poor Dad,' took to post on social media X with a message not only for crypto veterans but also for those who are still sitting on the sidelines, his tone was triumphant but also warning, according to The Street. As warned in previous X…Pigs get fat…. Hogs get slaughtered," as quoted in the report. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Avance em sua carreira jurídica Thomson Reuters Saiba Mais Undo ALSO READ: Air taxi revolution? Even though he disclosed he had just bought another Bitcoin, Kiyosaki indicated that he is waiting on more purchases as the direction of the overall economy becomes more apparent, as reported by The Street. Live Events What advice is Kiyosaki offering new crypto investors? Kiyosaki cautioned against being greedy but urged newcomers to get into crypto, even with just a small percentage of a coin, according to the report. He warned that, "As tempting as Bitcoin going to $200k to $1 Million is….I do want to be a HOG and get slaughtered….If you have not begun acquiring BITCOIN….I suggest starting very small… starting with a Satoshi," as quoted by The Street in its report. Satoshi refers to the smallest denomination of Bitcoin, as per the report. He also went on to speculate on the actions of billionaire investor Warren Buffett, observing that Buffett's $350 billion pile means that he has been waiting for a crash to pick up some quality assets, as reported by The Street. The author ended his social media post with a harsh warning but also with a glimmer of hope, saying, "Millions are about to become poorer," but he also offered hope, saying those who are smart, patient, and alert could emerge much richer, as reported by The Street. While, even previously, Kiyosaki has warned that if Bitcoin ultimately rises to $1 million per coin, many people will regret never having bought at the current price, and if all they could have purchased was a single satoshi, the feeling would be the same: "You will be saying, 'I wish I had bought more,'" as quoteed in the report. FAQs I've never bought Bitcoin. Is it too late now? Not according to Kiyosaki. He suggests it's not too late, and recommends starting with a very small amount, even just a satoshi. Why is Kiyosaki cautious even though he believes Bitcoin will go up? He's worried about being greedy during volatile times and is waiting for more clarity in the economy before buying more, as per The Street report.
