Notre Dame fan survey 2025: Irish fans, how do you feel about the football program now?
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — What does it feel like to be a Notre Dame football fan today?
The Athletic's sixth annual Notre Dame fan survey will attempt to answer that question as the Irish look for an encore season under Marcus Freeman with the hope it can go one step further. Enthusiasm for Notre Dame football seems to be hitting a generational peak, and the survey will put some hard data behind all that emotion.

Some of these questions are repeats from previous surveys, a chance to see how fan expectations have evolved from the end of Brian Kelly to the beginning of the Freeman era to Notre Dame's current coach now establishing himself near the top of the sport. And some of these are new, covering how college sports continue to evolve, the USC series facing a potential end and the College Football Playoff continuing to lurch forward.
How do you feel about all that? I can't wait to find out, including your lasting memory of last season's march to the national title game.
Thanks again for taking the time to fill out this year's survey. Results will run later this month.

Ohio 2026 tight end Preston Fryzel set to make official visit to Notre Dame
Ohio 2026 tight end Preston Fryzel set to make official visit to Notre Dame Notre Dame is set to host multiple tight ends on official visits in the coming weeks as it looks to bolster its 2026 recruiting class. Central Catholic (Toledo, OH) product Preston Fryzel will be visiting campus this Friday through Sunday. The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder will be in South Bend for the second time since receiving a scholarship offer from the Fighting Irish May 21. Fryzel previously visited Notre Dame unofficially last Tuesday. In addition to ND, Fryzel also visited Miami unofficially earlier this month and officially visited Duke last weekend. He is also set to officially visit Iowa June 20 before making a decision on a school. Fryzel was a key piece in Central Catholic's march to the state title game last season. He earned all-state honorable mention from the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association after hauling in 43 catches for 807 yards and 10 touchdowns in 16 games. On3's Mike Singer has confidence that Notre Dame will land him, as he's put in a prediction for the Irish today (see below). Tight end has been a focus on the recruiting trail for the Irish. Fryzel is one of four tight ends still on ND's board. Waukee (Waukee, IA) four-star product Evan Jacobson recently rescheduled his official visit from June 20 to June 13, while Great Bend (Great Bend, KS) four-star Ian Premer and Lexington (Mansfield, OH) four-star Brayden Fogle are set for a midweek visits next week. Notre Dame does not currently have a tight end committed in its 2026 recruiting class. Texas A&M is predicted to land 2026 3-star QB out of Missouri City (TX)
Texas A&M is predicted to land 2026 3-star QB out of Missouri City (TX) Texas A&M's future at quarterback is never set in today's transfer portal era, but for right now, redshirt sophomore Marcel Reed is the program's starter heading into the 2025 season, but nothing is guaranteed from there on out. After trading starts with Conner Weigman, who transferred to Houston this offseason, Reed's ability to make plays out of the structure with his legs holds a stark advantage. Still, he'll need to improve from the pocket as a decision-maker to vault the Aggies into the College Football Playoff conversation. Right now, Texas A&M's QB Future lies in the hands of sophomores Myles O'Neill and 2026 four-star Helaman Casuga, who were high school teammates with 2025 five-star WR signee Jerome Myles. Still, coach Mike Elko and his staff are looking to add another arm to the 2026 class to join Casuga, as a talented name has emerged as a new favorite to land with the Aggies over Colorado. On Wednesday, On3 Recruiting Director Steve Wiltfong placed his prediction for Texas A&M to land 2026 three-star quarterback Kaeden Johnson out of Fort Bend Marshall HS in Missouri City, Texas, home of former standout Aggie running back De'Von Achane, who stands out at 6'5" and 215 pounds. During his 2024 junior season, Johnson passed for 2,109 yards and 25 touchdowns while completing 60% of his passes and rushing for 571 yards and six touchdowns.
