Selena Gomez Makes the Case for Clear Nail Polish With a Glass Manicure
All products featured on Glamour are independently selected by Glamour editors. However, when you buy something through our retail links, Condé Nast may earn an affiliate commission.Selena Gomez is known for experimenting with her nail looks, and her latest manicure might be one of her biggest revelations to date. After showing off bold colors like cobalt blue nails, peach-champagne nails, and cherry-coded nails, Gomez has been on a minimalist streak, wearing lavender milk nails, soap nails, and now a clear glass manicure.
On May 1 the Rare Beauty founder hosted the brand's annual Mental Health Summit in Los Angeles. For the occasion, Gomez and her longtime manicurist Tom Bachik decided to bring the clean-girl look to the next level, opting for perfectly manicured nails topped with clear nail polish—that's it. To elongate the nails, Gomez paired the noncolor with her signature long almond nails. The result? An understated mani that resembles clear polished glass.
To complete the look, Gomez wore a crisp white blazer, light-wash high-waist jeans, a white shirt, and chunky rings (alongside her stunning marquise diamond engagement ring from fiancé Benny Blanco, of course.)
As for her glam, Gomez wore a full face of (what else?) Rare Beauty with spring-ready pinks on her cheeks and lids, and a glossy rose lip gloss. She seems to be growing out the Old Hollywood bob she wore throughout awards season, her brunette hair reaching lob territory past her shoulders. Will we be seeing the return of long-haired Selena Gomez? Only time will tell.
Bachik created the look using his own line of gel nail polish pens, Click Colors by Tom Bachik. 'Crisp and clean,' he wrote on Instagram. He started by prepping the nails and cuticles with the Tweezerman Nail Care Set before shaping Aprés Nails Medium Coffin Gel X Tips into Gomez's long almond shape. Last, he finished the look with the Click Color pen in Super Clear, which is described as a 'pristine, transparent gel that shines like glass. Nuff said.'

THE WHEEL OF TIME Showrunner Reacts to Cancellation: 'These Fans Deserve to See the Story Finished' — GeekTyrant
Rafe Judkins, showrunner of The Wheel of Time , has broken his silence following Amazon's unexpected cancellation of the fantasy series just weeks after its Season 3 finale. The news left fans stunned, especially after the show's steady performance and deeply invested audience. Judkins himself is still processing it. In an emotional Instagram post, Judkins shared: 'I wish I could say something clear and tidy that explains to all those who love it why it's coming to an end. But the truth is, I don't really understand it myself.' Judkins went on to celebrate the cast and crew as 'talented and wonderful,' and pointed out something that makes the cancellation sting even more: 'Season 3 spent nearly 20 weeks in the Nielsen Top 10 streaming chart, a feat few shows have been able to match in the last decade.' So, the show was doing very well! Judkins didn't stop at mourning The Wheel of Time , he called out a larger issue plaguing modern TV: 'There is a larger trend in TV toward fewer seasons with less episodes… I genuinely believe that this goes against the fundamental strength of television – long-form storytelling.' It's hard to argue with him. Shows that once had the runway to evolve and deepen such as Lost , Breaking Bad , The X-Files , Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and more, are now expected to make a splash in eight episodes or less. For something as sprawling and layered as The Wheel of Time , that kind of compressed storytelling just doesn't cut it. Still, there's a glimmer of hope. Judkins hinted that the show might yet defy the odds: 'One of the reasons I chose Amazon in the first place was that it had recently picked up The Expanse after SYFY axed it… Who knows, perhaps The Wheel of Time show will do what the books have always managed to do since day one – defy the traditional definitions of 'beginnings' and 'ends.' I certainly hope it does – because this book series and these fans deserve to see the story finished.' For now, there are no official plans to shop the series elsewhere, but fans aren't letting it go quietly. A petition to save the show has already gathered nearly 130,000 signatures, proving that the wheel is still turning. The question is… will someone will step up to keep it spinning?

Amal Clooney Channeled Rita Hayworth With Bouncy Waves at the 2025 Tony Awards
All products featured on Glamour are independently selected by Glamour editors. However, when you buy something through our retail links, Condé Nast may earn an affiliate there's one thing Amal Clooney is going to do, she's going to show up with some of the best glam at any event. From gala looks to her recent Cannes Film Festival dress-code-breaking style, Clooney goes all out on the red carpet—and looks good doing it. And her appearance at the Tony Awards was no different. At this year's 78th annual Tony Awards, held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 8, Clooney walked the red carpet in an Old Hollywood–style pearl-adorned dress with a big, glam blowout to match. Though she was there to support husband George Clooney, who was nominated for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a play for his performance as Edward Murrow in Good Night, and Good Luck (it was also his Broadway debut!), Amal Clooney really stole the show. We've been saying that super-long waves are back for the season, and based on last night's look, it looks as though Clooney is on board with it too. Channeling 1940s actor Rita Hayworth, celebrity hairstylist and colorist Dimitris Giannetos created her glamorous look for the evening. 'Inspired by the pearls [on her dress] and Old Hollywood dress, I wanted to give her classic Rita Hayworth glam,' Giannetos said in a press release. And that he did: Clooney walked the carpet with big, bouncy, and loose waves, showing off some bronde highlights to brighten things up around her face. Her hair's slight side part further let her inner Rita Hayworth shine through. To get the look, he 'started with towel-dried hair and blow-dried it using a round brush to create volume,' Giannetos explained in the release. Then, 'I placed her hair in rollers and let them set.' He left the rollers in until her makeup was done. The longer you leave hair rollers in, the curlier your hair will look and the longer-lasting the waves will be. 'Once makeup was done, I removed the rollers and brushed out her hair using a paddle brush,' Giannetos further explained. 'To hold the style and keep everything frizz-free for the red carpet, I finished with plenty of L'Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray.' He didn't say exactly which Elnett spray he used, but we love the original scented version of the hairspray (if you want to wear a perfume or hair mist, opt for the unscented one). $16.00, Amazon Usually celebs have separate hair and makeup artists to do their glam before an event, but Clooney kept things streamlined and simple for the Tony Awards. Giannetos was on double duty last night—not only did he create that Old Hollywood hair, but he also did her makeup in between. So while her hair was setting in rollers, he went in with Charlotte Tilbury products to complete the vintage glam look. 'The vibe we were going for was a soft Old Hollywood glamour with neutral coral tones,' Giannetos said in the release. After her skin was prepped with products, including editor-loved Charlotte's Magic Cream, he used Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation and Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray, among other makeup products, for a radiant, healthy glow that lasted Clooney all night. $38.00, Nordstrom $65.00, Sephora Catharine Malzahn is the contributing associate beauty editor at Glamour.
