Country Music Legend Calls Meeting Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever Team 'Absolute Dream'
Country legend Wynonna Judd, 61, made a surprise visit to the Indiana Fever before Sunday's (July 27) game against the Chicago Sky — and she was as excited to meet the Fever players as they were to meet her.
"The squad got to meet Grammy award-winner Wynonna Judd before today's game in Chicago ❤️🎶," captioned the Fever's Instagram post on a series of photos and video of Judd posing with stars Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull.
In the video, Cunningham gives Judd a huge hug and exclaims, "You are such a star, you are awesome! How are you? Oh, don't cry!"
Then Judd can be heard saying, "No, I'm serious. I don't get excited about a lot, but this is my absolute dream."
She also got to hug and say hello to head coach Stephanie White, who can be heard saying, "Great to meet you!"On Judd's Instagram stories, she reposted the Fever's photos and wrote, "The quartet you didn't know you needed," on the photo of her alongside Clark, Cunningham and Hull.
In the comments, fans can't believe how Judd is dwarfed by the WNBA players.
"I thought Wynonna's as tall as them. She looks tiny!" wrote one fan, to which another fan replied, " I thought the same thing. Players look like giants next to her. I googled it… Wynonna is 5'5'."
"Smooth voice and splash sisters! Love to see it," wrote a third fan.
A fourth fan, "SWEET!!!! My favorite Redhead with my favorite ballers in the world!!!!! Love this!!!!!"
"This is SO AWESOME!! Four amazing, talented women right there! Go Fever and have a blast Wy !!," wrote a fifth fan.
The Fever beat the Sky 93-78 on the back of Kelsey Mitchell's 35 points and six assists; Mitchell has been stepping way up in Clark's absence as Clark battles injuries this season. The Fever have improved to 14-12 on the year.

NEW YORK (AP) — The WNBA hoped to create some buzz with its inaugural Rivals Week, which is slated to begin on Saturday. Unfortunately, injuries to key players like Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese has dampened some of the excitement. The week was set to tip-off with a primetime matchup between Clark's Fever and Reese's Sky on Saturday night. Clark is definitely out while still recovering from a groin strain that's sidelined her already for a few weeks. Reese has missed four of the past five games with a back injury. Collier and Stewart were set for a second meeting between Minnesota and New York on Sunday, but neither will play in the game. Collier is sidelined with a sprained right ankle and Stewart has a bone bruise in her right knee. The two teams played an epic WNBA Finals last season, although both sides have downplayed it being a rivalry just yet. 'It's a rivalry because of what happened in the Finals last year and I think it's good that it has people talking,' Liberty coach Sandy Brondello said. 'We have passionate fans. We have people talking about our league and that's a good thing.' Right now only four games separate second-place New York (18-10) from eighth place Golden State (14-14) with a month left in the season. 'The timing of that week is critical, because in August you start to really make that playoff push,' WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said back when the Rivals Week was announced. 'So it would be great to have those matchups during that period to drive that playoff push into September and crown a champion in October.' Power poll rankings Minnesota remained the No. 1 team in the poll with Atlanta and New York behind the Lynx. Riding a five-game winning streak, Indiana moved up to fourth. Phoenix and Seattle followed the Fever. Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Golden State were the next three. Washington, Dallas, Connecticut and Chicago rounded out the poll. It's the first time since Week 6 that the Sun aren't at the bottom of the poll. Ratings boon Las Vegas' blowout loss to Minnesota on Saturday drew an average viewership of 1.6 million fans, peaking at 2 million. As a whole, games on ABC are up 20% from the regular season last year on the network. Player of the week Collier of Minnesota was the AP player of the week after averaging 24 points, six rebounds and 3.5 assists to help the Lynx win both their games last week. Other players receiving votes included Allisha Gray of Atlanta, Natasha Howard of Indiana and Sabrina Ionescu of New York. Game of the week Minnesota at New York, Sunday. Starting Sept. 9, Leslie Odom Jr. will step back into the disgraced former Vice President's shoes for the second time in his career. This time around, he'll portray the Newark native in 'Hamilton' for 12 weeks at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre. As of now, he's scheduled to take his final Midtown bow on Wednesday, Nov. 26. 'Returning to 'Hamilton' is a deeply meaningful homecoming,' Odom, Jr. said in a statement. 'I'm so grateful for the chance to step back into the room — especially during this anniversary moment — and to revisit this brilliant piece that forever changed my life and the lives of so many.' According to The Associated Press, the gifted performer speculated he played Burr approximately 500 times in the mid-2010s but never tired of the part. 'It still had revelation for me, and it still gave me reason to look a little deeper and focus a little harder,' he noted. In an interview with The Today Show announcing his Great White Way comeback, he also teased more 'Hamil-ten' surprises, since the show is celebrating a decade since its inception. 'I'm not breaking any other news here today,' he coyly told host Savannah Guthrie. '…but I know they have a lot of wonderful things planned.
