Louis Vuitton has officially unveiled its first-ever makeup collection, La Beauté Louis Vuitton, marking the fashion house's entry into the beauty market. The collection was teased in March, when Louis Vuitton announced that renowned makeup artist and entrepreneur Dame Pat McGrath would join as creative director. The launch includes 55 lipsticks, 10 lip balms, and 8 eyeshadow palettes, all set to be available from August 29.
Lipsticks and lip balms collection
The lipstick collection features 55 shades, split between 27 creamy and 28 matte finishes. The number 55 is a nod to Louis Vuitton's initials, LV, which also represent 55 in Roman numerals. The lipsticks are made using upcycled waxes from rose, jasmine, and mimosa flowers, as well as moisturizing shea butter and hyaluronic acid. Each lipstick comes in refillable packaging for sustainability, and a signature scent by LV's master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud includes mimosa, jasmine, and rose notes.
The LV Baume lip balms feature ten shades, also with shea butter and hyaluronic acid. Signature hues include 051 Monogram Touch, a sheer version of Monogram Rouge; 030 Tender Bliss, a pink pearl shade; and 020 Rose Essentiel, a soft rosy color with subtle hints of mint and raspberry.
Eyeshadow palettes
The collection includes eight eyeshadow palettes, each with four shades. Each palette offers three everyday colors and one standout shade, in finishes ranging from matte to glitter. Some highlighted palettes are 896 Monogram Rouge, featuring red, brown, and caramel tones; 150 Beige Momento, inspired by Louis Vuitton leather; and 250 Nude Mirage, offering neutral rosy shades.
Prices and fan reactions
Lipsticks and balms are priced at $160, with refills starting at $70. Eyeshadow palettes cost around $250, with refills at $90. Diet Prada, the prominent Instagram fashion watchdog, highlighted the high prices of the collection in a recent post, which quickly drew a flood of comments from followers.
One user wrote, 'There is absolutely no reason for a lipstick to cost $160. Not even if it was laced with gold.' Another user wrote, 'And once you put it on your face, who can tell it is LV? You're not going to walk around holding the damn palette.'
Some questioned the need for luxury makeup, saying, 'As much as I love makeup, I'm also aware that no one, not one single person, needs a lipstick over $25.' The drugstore ones for $10 do the trick just fine. All these brands are cash-grabbing women to give the illusion that if you carry a brand-name lipstick, you're somewhat of an elite status.'
Other users criticized the trend, with one noting, 'Every time another luxury brand launches makeup, it just feels like a thinly veiled money grab trying to capitalize on the lipstick effect, and honestly, I just refuse to fall for it.'
The collection will be available on louisvuitton.com from August 29.

"Still Hungry": Man Leaves Louis Vuitton's Michelin-Starred Restaurant, Chooses Indian Meal Instead

A digital creator named Jack is going viral on social media for what viewers are calling one of the most "honest" and "hilarious" food reviews online. In a recently shared video, Jack says he flew to St. Tropez, France, to try one of the few Michelin-starred Louis Vuitton restaurants in the world. The clip shows the lavish open-air restaurant where "literally every single thing is Louis Vuitton", from knives to plates to even the staff uniforms. The Michelin-starred restaurant is run by chefs Arnaud Donckele and Maxime Frederic. The creator opts for the tasting menu, comprising five courses, priced at 230 euros per person (approximately Rs 23,000). Describing the food with heavy sarcasm, Jack says, "Before the meal starts, they bring out these appetisers, and it just tastes like fancy leaves, which I don't hate. The first course is the world's smallest tuna tartare." Commenting on the taste and size, he adds, "This is delicious, I just need 3 more of them." Reviewing another course, he adds, "Next course, absolutely the smallest piece of roast chicken I have ever seen in my life. Also comes with a side of 'chef-selected vegetables'. I really hope the chef is driving the decisions right there." After tasting it, he pauses and says, "Just like a normal piece of juicy roast chicken." After the fine dining experience, Jack pays for the pricey meal and remarks, "Pretty crazy, given the fact that I am honestly still hungry, I might go get Indian food." He then heads to an Indian restaurant, ordering dal, rice, butter chicken, naan, and what appear to be spicy chicken appetisers. The table is filled with food. Jack eats naan with butter chicken and, with visible satisfaction, says, "delicious". The video has already crossed 3.2 million views. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jack's Dining Room (@jacksdiningroom) Food lovers praised this "honest" review, especially Indian viewers. Here are some reactions: "Butter chicken for dessert is the true elite move," one joked. Another said, "The Indian food looks way better and more filling." A foodie wrote, "Butter chicken doesn't fill your tummy, it fills your soul with the greatest joy of all time." Another commented, "Lmao this has to be the funniest review you've done." There were critics as well. A comment read, "Please be polite, take off your cap when you eat and show a bit more respect to everybody in this place. You are in France, and they spoke in English so you could better understand what you were eating. If the accent was a problem, stay in your place and go to McDonald's. Right there, you can come as you are."

Farah Khan Stunned After Ameesha Patel Shows Off Her 400 Designer Bags, From Hermes To Dior

If you ever thought your handbag collection was impressive, wait until you step into Ameesha Patel's home. The Gadar 2 star, who grew up in South Bombay, started buying designer bags at the age of 12. Fast forward to today, she owns close to 400 bags, and each of them is worth anywhere between lakhs and crores. Recently, filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan dropped by Ameesha's home with her camera, and what followed was less of a vlog and more of a luxury museum tour. Farah's jaw hit the floor as the actress opened cupboard after cupboard of Hermes, Dior, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton treasures. Her first reaction was, "I have never seen Ameesha repeat her bag." When Birkin Bags Replaced Boyfriends Among the highlights was Ameesha's dedicated Birkin cupboard. From a powder-blue beauty to a rare pink crocodile leather edition she bought 15 years ago, the collection was enough to make any fashion lover faint. Hugging one tightly, Farah declared, "This feels better than hugging any boyfriend." Ameesha didn't miss a beat before quipping, "Why do you think I have bags and no boys?" The banter continued as the two besties pulled out bag after bag. Farah's amazement only grew as she found herself staring at an orange Bottega Veneta bag she had never seen before. Ameesha casually added that she had the same design in black too - because why not? The Chanel cupboard was just another treasure chest as it was filled with pieces starting at Rs 5 lakh and shooting into the tens of lakhs. Some bags have been used just once, thanks to Ameesha's "rotation system" that ensures every piece gets its day in the sun. As Farah teased her about neglecting them, the actress laughed, "I used this one last June". A Shoe Closet That Could Double As A Weapon Room The tour didn't end with bags. Ameesha also unveiled her massive shoe cupboard that was arranged neatly by colour. Rows of Gucci and Louis Vuitton heels lined the shelves, with each pair priced upwards of Rs 80,000. Farah, as always, brought the humour, saying, "You can use these shoes to murder someone." Ameesha laughed back, "These are my defence weapons. If a thief enters, I'll hit him with my shoes." A Penthouse Or 400 Bags? Ameesha Made Her Choice The actress is well aware of the fortune sitting inside her cupboards. "If I didn't have a habit of collecting bags, I would have owned a penthouse in Mumbai," she admitted. But clearly, she has no regrets. In her world, limited-edition handbags and heels hold more value than square footage. Her relationships with luxury brands prove it. "Every designer knows I am a collector, so they call me when something new launches in India. Even in Paris or Dubai, the shops know me," she explained. Farah quickly added with a laugh, "And we are only known by our vegetable vendors here." From rare Birkins worth crores to a shoe closet fit for a boutique, Ameesha Patel has built her luxury universe. With Farah Khan playing tour guide, fans got a peek into a collection that could rival any high-end fashion house.
