Nelly Karim's TV Series "Naqs Dela" Changes Name Once Again

Yara Sameh
Egyptian actress Nelly Karim's upcoming star-studded TV series for the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon has undergone yet another name change, making this the third time the series has been renamed.
Originally announced as "Gany Fil Manam", the series changed its name to "Naqs Dela" in December 2024, and will now go under the title of "Ekhwaty".
The series also stars Ruby, Kinda Alloush, Gihan El Shamashergy, Aly Kassem, Hatem Salah, and more. It is scripted by Mohab Tarek, directed by Mohamed Shaker Khadir, and produced by Media Hub.
"Ekhwaty" consists of 15 episodes and marks Alloush's comeback to the small screen after three years of absence forced by her breast cancer battle.
She made her last onscreen appearance in the 2021 TV series " Sittat Bayt Al Maadi", which featured a starry cast that included Injy El Mokkaddem, Mirhan Hussein, Tara Emad, and Sabry Fawaz. It hailed from scriptwriter Mahmoud Ezzat and director Mohamed Salama and Hadi El Bagoury.
In December 2024, the Syrian star confirmed she was finally cancer-free six months after revealing her breast cancer diagnosis.
The 42-year-old announced via Instagram that she no longer has cancer cells in her body, after previously announcing in June that she'd privately endured cancer treatment.
"Today I announce my complete recovery from cancer... Congratulate me 🙏🙏💚💚💚🤍🤍 8/12/2024," she wrote.
Fans and fellow celebrities have flooded the comments with outpouring of love, congratulations, admiration, and good wishes.
In a June interview with Prominent TV host Mona El-Shazly, she said that was diagnosed with cancer a year and a half ago. She felt pain while breastfeeding her son, Karim, so, she stopped breastfeeding him.
Afterward, Alloush underwent various medical tests that showed various tumors, but she held on and never broke down.
She also opened up about her absence from acting and the public appearance was due to her undergoing treatment and completing her arduous journey against the disease as she preferred to focus on her health and stay away from work pressures.
Alloush added that her husband, actor Amr Youssef, supported her and insisted on attending the therapy sessions with her.

Qeset El Khareef to Make World Premiere at Khouribga African Film Festival

The Khouribga African Film Festival in Morocco has officially selected the Egyptian film Qeset El Khareef (Autumn Story) for its world premiere, representing Egypt at the festival's 25th edition, running from June 21 to 28. One of Africa's longest-running festivals, Khouribga first launched in 1977 and is considered the continent's third most prominent, following Tunisia's Carthage Film Days and Burkina Faso's FESPACO. Directed and written by Karim Makram, Qeset El Khareef marks his feature-length debut following several acclaimed shorts and documentaries. The film explores themes of alienation and emotional isolation through a group of characters from different social backgrounds. Starring Youssef Othman, Buthaina Hagar, Ashraf Mahdy, and a large ensemble cast, the film is a truly independent effort that took five years to complete due to the challenges of financing local indie productions. With little access to funding, the filmmakers relied on personal contributions, reduced fees, and collaborative passion to bring the project to life. The film's crew includes costume designer Afnan Zakaria Ghazala, cinematographer Mahmoud Lotfy, production designer Yasser El-Husseiny, colorist Atteya Amin, sound engineer Mohab Ezz, sound designer Mohamed Salah, music composer Youssef Sadeq, editor Dalia Atta, and producers Rafiq Anton, Karim Makram, and Eman Samir Fadel (Arrow Film Productions), with executive production by Sherif Abou Hemila (New Pictures). Qeset El Khareef is set to be a strong voice for Egypt in one of Africa's key cinematic showcases.

The giant streamer gave audiences a first look at the twisted new take on the classic Hollywood monster during its Tudum live event. The film's official logline reads, 'A brilliant but egotistical scientist brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.' The film stars Oscar Isaac as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Mia Goth as Elizabeth, Ralph Ineson as Professor Krempe, Jacob Elordi as The Monster and Chrstoph Watlz as Harlander. Cast members also includes Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Christian Covery, and Charles Dance. Earlier in May at the Cannes Film Festival, director del Toro shared his version of the lumbering, undead man will be more sympathetic than some previous takes on the classic Mary Shelley horror story. 'Somebody asked me the other day, does it have really scary scenes?' the filmmaker explained during a sit down with Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat. 'For the first time, I considered that. It's an emotional story for me. It's as personal as anything. I'm asking a question about being a father, being a son… I'm not doing a horror movie — ever. I'm not trying to do that.' Del Toro serves as writer and director as well as producer. J. Miles Dale, Melissa Girotti and Scott Suber also produce.
