Cam Leiter signs with Los Angeles Dodgers
Jim Callis of MLB.com reported on Tuesday that the former Florida State Seminole pitcher had signed with the Dodgers for $1,349,100. It is the slot value of the No. 65 pick, making him the first FSU player to sign for the value of their pick.
Leiter has not pitched in a game since March 28, 2024. He started seven games during the 2024 season, finishing with a 4.63 ERA in 35.0 innings. He attempted to return from an injury at the end of the season but was unable to, with the same thing happening in the 2025 season.
Leiter started his career at USF, becoming a unanimous selection to the AAC All-Freshman Team after going 3-2 with a 4.92 ERA over 56.2 innings before transferring to FSU ahead of the 2024 season. He recorded 136 strikeouts over 91.2 innings between his two schools.
He was one of 11 players and six pitchers the Seminoles had taken in the 2025 draft, setting a new program record. Leiter, Jamie Arnold, and Alex Lodise all went in the first two rounds, setting a new program record.

One of Texas A&M's most significant issues under former head coach Jimbo Fisher was the program's lack of special teams success, mainly due to Fisher's choice never to hire a special teams coach. On Friday, it was revealed that Bond was named to the 2025 Lou Groza Award preseason watch list. Unsurprisingly, Bond is considered one of the most dependable kickers in the country and could be the reason Texas A&M escapes a road game or two this season. Bond has continued to improve in every aspect of his kicking game, and, with one more solid season, he has a chance to make an NFL roster this time next year. Steelers defense dominates Aaron Rodgers-led offense at Friday Night Lights Practice
The action couldn't be hotter at the Steelers annual Friday Night Lights Practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium — but the offense looked ice cold during the seven-shots drill of the day, courtesy of a fiery Pittsburgh defense. On the first attempt of the drill, Aaron Rodgers attempted a pass to DK Metcalf but Darius Slay was there in coverage to cause the play to backfire — defense moved up 1-0. Rookie RB Kaleb Johnson attempted a run from shotgun on the next attempt, but was held up by LB Payton Wilson — putting the defense ahead 2-0. On the third play, Rodgers threw a pass towards Pat Freiermuth, but Slay broke up the pass — resulting in the defense furthering their lead to 3-0. Mason Rudolph would take over at quarterback and attempt a pass to Scotty Miller — but the wideout couldn't get his feet down and it resulted in a defensive win of 4-0. The drill continued despite the strong defensive statement, resulting in three straight offensive scores: one from Johnson and two from QB Will Howard to RB Kenneth Gainwell and TE Kevin Folesch. The damage was already done, however, as the defense was up 4-3 at the conclusion of seven-shots. Fans should take the offensive struggles over the past few practices with a grain of salt — as many of these issues will (hopefully) be ironed out by the regular season, while the defense should be commended for its strong performances in Latrobe. Previewing the 2025 season for Texas A&M DB Marcus Ratcliffe with his player profile
As we gear up for the 2025 football season, Aggies Wire is breaking down every player on the Texas A&M roster. Throughout the preseason, each profile will highlight a player's background, recruiting rankings out of high school, and projected role under head coach Mike Elko. Marcus Ratcliffe was one of the key transfers who helped Coach Elko transition back into Aggieland. After starting 11 of 12 games as a true freshman and earning the team's Most Outstanding Defensive Freshman award, Ratcliffe made the jump to the SEC, where he played in all 13 games and started 12. He originally signed with San Diego State. Depth Chart Outlook The safety position is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing battles heading into 2025. Much will depend on the personnel the defensive staff chooses to roll with. Expect some combination of Dalton Brooks, Bryce Anderson, and Ratcliffe, though we shouldn't count out Myles Davis either. Given last season's inconsistency at the position, this decision will likely come down to who earns the most trust during game-week preparation.
