Jessica Simpson makes surprise cameo in Kim Kardashian legal drama All's Fair

Daily Mail13-05-2025

The first trailer for Kim Kardashian 's legal drama All's Fair was released on Tuesday and though the SKIMS mogul is the star of the show, an unexpected cameo no doubt will send tongues wagging.
Jessica Simpson, 44, made a surprise appearance in the two minute trailer for the upcoming series which comes from an interesting time as she is in the middle of a separation from husband of a decade Eric Johnson.
It remains unclear what her role will be, but the newly-single star seemed upset as she tossed a beverage from a glass toward the camera.
Fans were very excited about Jessica's inclusion in the clip as many flocked to X (formally Twitter) to react to the cameo.
One fan wrote: 'And Jessica Simpson?? Whoah. Disney+ isn't holding back anymore [clapping emoji]'
Another said: 'That random flash of Jessica Simpson?!? This looks so ridiculous (complimentary)'

Many others were in disbelief that Jessica was involved in the project while others patted themselves on the back for noticing.
One hilariously posted: 'How gay do you have to be to notice Jessica Simpson in this trailer? Because I'm whatever that level is.'
Lastly, another said: 'I love to see Jessica Simpson returning to acting. She's an underrated actress.'
In the new project, reality star Kim Kardashian, 44, takes on her first leading role as a ruthless divorce lawyer in the new Ryan Murphy drama - and landed top billing over Oscar nominees Glenn Close and Naomi Watts, as well as established stars Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson and Teyana Taylor.
All's Fair follows a team of high-powered female attorneys who leave their firm to start their own company - with American Horror Story: Delicate star Kardashian taking on the role of Allura Grant.
It's reportedly partly inspired by Kardashian's actual lawyer, Laura Wasser, who represented her in divorce proceedings with Kanye West and Kris Humphries.
All's Fair will begin streaming on Hulu in the fall.
Speaking of divorce, Jessica is in the middle of a separation from former former NFL star Eric Johnson, 45, as were spotted together in Carlsbad, California, last month.
Fans were very excited about Jessica's inclusion in the clip as many flocked to X (formally Twitter ) to react to the cameo
They were joined by their three kids, daughters Maxwell, 12, and Birdie, five, and son Ace, 11, and what appeared to be Eric's parents.
Simpson announced her separation from Johnson in January, after 10 years of marriage, and in her new single, released last month, the star hinted that he may have cheated.
Simpson — who once referred to Eric as her 'sexual shaman' — launched a musical comeback with her savage track Leave, which appears to insinuate Johnson stepped out on her.
The lyrics - which involve telling a lover to leave - include: 'What we had was magic/Now you've made it tragic/Giving her what you gave to me/Now the well that you drank from is empty.'
'Your weakness made me lonely/Unholy matrimony/Did you do to her what you did to me? Was she on her knees?/She's everything but me.'
She then sings about the man thinking about the other woman while having sex with her, stating she'd 'rather die than let you be inside me with her on your mind.'
Simpson continues: 'I want you to leave/I don't even wanna breathe the air you breathe/ I am stronger on my own/ So hold on/ I'm letting you go/ How'd this even happen/I can just imagine.'
'I wanna know then again I don't/She get you off dressing up in my clothes/Don't say you love me/ Don't even try to touch me.'
'Your weakness made me lonely/Unholy matrimony/Did you do to her what you did to me? Was she on her knees?' Jessica sang in her new track 'Leave'
'If you were me you'd fall to pieces/I make heartbreak look damn easy.'
Last month, Jessica appeared to open up about the moment she confronted Eric just before their marriage officially crumbled.
During her surprise performance at Luck Reunion, Simpson recalled how her world 'turned upside down' after she followed a gut feeling to ask 'some very personal questions on the home front.'
Now she is a 'very single lady.'
A TikToker captured Simpson appearing to recount asking Johnson the 'personal questions' before she performed her new 'heartbreak, pissed-off' track Leave.
'Like I said, I was out in Nashville and I had my heart wide open, I was in a very intuitive state and I had asked some very personal questions on the home front and I found out that my world had been turned upside down and that life was now very different.'
'I'm a very single lady,' she added, drawing cheers.
'You know, when we open our hearts, sometimes we're vulnerable and it just gets broken and maybe sometimes we forget that we've been broken for a really long time.'
In November, she also appeared to throw shade at someone close to her, stating her musical comeback 'is personal' and that 'it's an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve'; Jessica and Eric seen in 2015
Jessica's latest EP, Nashville Canyon Part 1, was released on March 21.
Last month Jessica also marked daughter Birdie's sixth birthday without Eric, sharing a number of photos from the celebration to her Instagram.
In January, Simpson announced that she and Eric 'have been living separately' and are 'navigating a painful situation' in their marriage.
She added that the estranged pair are 'focusing on what is best' for their three children and 'appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family' in a statement.
Simpson and Johnson said 'I do' back in 2014, after four years of dating. The estranged pair first met through a mutual friend in 2010. They got engaged that November, after six months of dating.
The star was last pictured wearing her wedding ring in 2023. Aside from their latest outing, the couple hasn't been spotted together since Birdie's kindergarten graduation back in June 7, and Jessica's Instagram has been conspicuously Eric-free since their Easter celebration on April 9.
Jessica fueled the chatter with a cryptic social media post on November 11 that appeared to throw shade at someone close to her.
'Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,' began the singer in her caption.
'This comeback is personal, it's an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.'
Her quote raised eyebrows as followers tried to guess who made her put up with 'everything I did not deserve.'
In March, the singer also had some flirty exchanges with actor Jeremy Renner on social media, over a decade after they were first rumored to be dating.
Reigniting romance rumors, Jessica left comments for the Oscar-nominated actor, 54, after viewing his thirst traps on Instagram.
After watching a shirtless reel of him, Jessica commented with the fire emoji and the Avengers star hearted her reaction.
Back in March 2010, Simpson and Renner were rumored to be dating after they were spotted together at a party for his action-thriller The Hurt Locker. At the time, it was reported that they exchanged numbers before going their separate ways.
Simpson was previously married to 98 Degrees boyband singer Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006.
Their relationship was documented in the reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, which ran from 2003 to 2005, giving fans a peek into their lives.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs' lawyer accuses witness of lying about balcony attack

NEW YORK, June 5 (Reuters) - A lawyer for Sean "Diddy" Combs accused a witness at his sex trafficking trial on Thursday of falsely testifying that the hip-hop mogul held her over the balcony of a Los Angeles apartment, and suggested Combs was on the East Coast at the time of the alleged attack. Bryana Bongolan, a friend of Combs' former girlfriend Casandra Ventura, opens new tab, testified on Wednesday that Combs in September 2016 held her over the rail of the balcony at Ventura's apartment and then threw her onto the balcony's furniture, causing her bruises. Prosecutors say the incident was among several violent acts that Combs, 55, took against Ventura and people close to her during the decade he was coercing Ventura to take part in drug-fueled sexual performances with male sex workers known as "Freak Offs." Combs has to five counts including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He could face life in prison if convicted on all counts. Bongolan had not stated the exact date of the alleged balcony attack during her testimony on Wednesday. Jurors on Wednesday saw a picture Bongolan took of a bruise on her leg taken on September 26, 2016. A civil lawsuit Bongolan filed against Combs last year said the incident took place "on or about September 26, 2016." On Thursday, Combs' lawyer Nicole Westmoreland asked Bongolan if she was aware that Combs performed at a concert in New Jersey on September 25, 2016 and attended an event in New York with Ventura the following day. Westmoreland also showed jurors a document from the Trump International hotel in New York indicating that someone named "Frank Black" stayed there from September 24, 2016 through September 29, 2016. Previous witnesses at the trial have testified that Combs, like other celebrities, frequently used aliases when staying at hotels. "You came in here and you lied to the ladies and gentlemen of this jury, didn't you?" Westmoreland asked. "I can't agree with you," Bongolan replied. Under further questioning from prosecutor Madison Smyser, Bongolan said she did not know the exact date of the incident because it happened "a while ago," but said she had no doubt it took place. "I will never forget him holding me on that balcony," Bongolan said.

Arrest made in theft of instruments stolen from the rock band Heart at New Jersey venue

Authorities have made an arrest in the theft of two irreplaceable instruments owned by members of the rock band Heart that were stolen from a venue in New Jersey last weekend. Atlantic City police say surveillance video initially led them to a 57-year-old Pleasantville man. He was later seen on video walking through various parts of the city, trying to sell the instruments, and he eventually sold one while the other remains unaccounted for, police said, declining further comment. The man has been charged with burglary and theft. The band was set to kick off the An Evening With Heart tour at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City on Saturday, and its gear had been set up there the day prior to the show. Among the items stolen were a custom-built, purple sparkle baritone Telecaster guitar with a hand-painted headstock made for band member Nancy Wilson, and a vintage 1966 Gibson EM-50 mandolin that band member Paul Moak has played for over 25 years. 'These instruments are more than just tools of our trade — they're extensions of our musical souls,' Nancy Wilson said in a statement issued by the group that also offered a reward for information leading to their return. 'We're heartbroken, and we're asking for their safe return— no questions asked. Their value to us is immeasurable.' Heart is led by Wilson and her sister, Ann, who have made music together since the '70s and have had hits like 'Magic Man,' 'Crazy on You' and 'Alone.' The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers were honored with a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy in 2023.
