President Droupadi Murmu took part in the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations at Uttarakhand's Dehradun on Saturday, along with Governor Gurmeet Singh.
The program organised at Police Lines, Dehradun is part of the nationwide celebration of Yoga on International Yoga Day with the theme 'Yoga For One Earth, For One Health.' The 11th annual Yoga day celebrations have seen wide participation from states across the country.
Visuals from Police lines showed President Murmu doing asanas with the governor and other officials. The President is in Uttarakhand as part of a three-day visit to the state which will be concluding today.

During her visit, on June 20 President Murmu graced the opening of Rashtrapati Niketan for public viewing and also visited the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities where she witnessed an exhibition and Model School Science Lab and interact with the students. On the same day she also released a postage stamp on Raj Bhavan, Nainital, on the completion of its 125 years.
Earlier today, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nationwide Yoga day celebrations from Vishakapatnam, he urged the international community to embrace "inner peace" as a "global policy' and make yoga a collective global responsibility.
"I would like to take this opportunity to urge the global community on this important occasion to let this International Yoga Day mark the beginning of Yoga for Humanity. Let this be the day when inner peace becomes a global policy, where yoga is embraced not just as a personal practice, but as a powerful tool for global partnership and unity. Let every country and every society make yoga a shared responsibility, a common contribution toward collective well-being," the Prime Minister said.
The event was held along the scenic Visakhapatnam coastline, with Indian Navy ships stationed near the shore, adding to the grandeur of the celebration.
PM Modi was joined by lakhs of yoga enthusiasts, residents, and dignitaries from Andhra Pradesh.
Calling for a global mass movement through yoga, PM Modi said, "Come, let us all together make Yoga a mass movement. A movement that takes the world towards peace, health and harmony. Where every person starts the day with yoga and finds balance in life. Where every society is connected to yoga and free from stress. Where yoga becomes the medium to bind humanity together. And where Yoga For One Earth, One Health becomes a global resolution."
Multiple other leaders, including Chief Ministers of various states, multiple Union Ministers also participated in the Yoga day programs across the country.

Uttarakhand State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar on Saturday said that Panchayat elections 2025 will be held in two phases across 12 districts, except Haridwar. He also said that the first phase of the 2025 Panchayat elections in Uttarakhand will be held on July 10, followed by the second phase on July 15. Speaking to ANI, Sushil Kumar said, "In Uttarakhand, with the exception of the Haridwar district, a notification has been issued for the three-tier Panchayat elections 2025 across 12 districts. The counting of votes will occur on 19 July 2025, and the results will be announced thereafter." Nominations will be accepted from June 25 to 28, and the Model Code of Conduct is now in effect across the state. "The schedule is as follows: District Officers will release their notification on 23 June, and the nomination process will take place from 25 June to 28 June. Elections will occur in two phases. The first voting phase will be held on the 10th of July, and the second phase will be held on the 15th of July. Thus, the Model Code of Conduct will be effective in the state," Kumar said. Live Events Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Yoga Sangam program with representatives of eight countries on the occasion of International Day of Yoga 2025 at Gairsain Assembly Complex in Gairsain, the summer capital of Uttarakhand. Ambassadors and diplomats of Nepal, Mexico, Latvia, Fiji, Suriname, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Russia were the special guests of this Yoga Sangam program. Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami said, "I am delighted that on International Day of Yoga today, we are blessed with the presence of all of you (foreign delegates and guests). Your graceful presence has provided a global reputation to this event." He also emphasised the worldwide enthusiasm for the yoga movement, saying, "...Across the world, International Yoga Day 2025 is being celebrated with great fervour today. In this connection, Yoga was performed here in the presence of Swami Bharat Bhushan and delegates from eight has sent a message that this will open doors to multiple possibilities on our land of Yoga and Ayush." Stage set for International Yoga Day celebrations in Visakhapatnam

VISAKHAPATNAM: Vizag City is all set to host the International Yoga Day celebrations on RK Beach Road here on Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, other ministers, officials, celebrities, and citizens from the North Andhra districts are expected to attend the mega event. As a prelude to International Yoga Day, the State government launched the Yogandhra initiative on May 21, aiming to make yoga accessible to everyone. Over the past month, yoga training sessions were conducted across the state, drawing participation from people across various sections of society. The concluding event of Yogandhra will take place simultaneously at thousands of locations across the state. As part of this, a mass yoga demonstration involving approximately 5 lakh participants is planned along the Visakhapatnam coastline on Saturday, with an attempt to set a Guinness World Record. The event will be held along a 26-km stretch from Kali Mata Temple on RK Beach Road to Bheemunipatnam, with participants performing yoga throughout the route. Around 326 compartments have been set up, each supervised by a gazetted officer. Each compartment includes yoga instructors, 3 demonstrators, 10 volunteers, medical staff (ANM and ASHA workers), a police officer, Guinness record verification representatives, sanitation workers, and supervisors. Approximately 1,438 yoga performers, including 907 instructors, will oversee the event.
