Harish Rao, Madhusudana Chary ridicule rival parties' attempts to weaken BRS

HYDERABAD Senior leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former minister T. Harish Rao has condemned the comments of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud that he (Harish) had met BJP MP Eatala Rajender and termed them as 'cheap'. In a statement, Mr. Rao said the TPCC chief was playing such cheap politics unable to take on him directly and by doing so he was treading the unethical path of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy by indulging in mudslinging on political opponents. He made it clear that except for coming across in weddings or funerals he had never met any leader of other parties or those who left BRS. 'I always practice politics with values unlike your cheap tactics for political mileage', he said and suggested Mr. Goud to stop such allegations and act in tune with his (Goud's) status and also focus on fulfilling six guarantees and 420 promises made at the time of elections. Separately, BRS MLC and former Speaker of the Assembly S. Madhusudana Chary condemned the misinformation campaign of the rival parties against BRS that it was planning to merge with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He stated that in combined Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) came into being against the Congress and K. Chandrasekhar Rao had floated BRS (TRS) to fight for the existence of Telangana against both Congress and TDP. Stating that KCR had achieved Statehood for Telangana despite adverse political conditions and opposition from strong leaderships such as Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and N. Chandrababu Naidu and developed Telangana as a model State. However, the rival parties were conspiring to weaken BRS, unknowing that the party has the backing of Telangana masses despite its defeat in the elections. On the internal political development of BRS he said he was aware of all and any decision would be taken by party chief KCR. As part of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations in Telangana Bhavan, Mr. Harish Rao would give a powerpoint presentation on the Kaleshwaram project on June 2.

Arrests will happen soon after submission of KLIS probe report: TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud

KHAMMAM: Once the Commission of Inquiry probing irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project submits its report, arrests will follow, said TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud on Saturday. Stating that Congress has consistently advocated for the rights and welfare of tribal and Adivasi communities, from the era of Indira Gandhi to the present leadership under Rahul Gandhi, Mahesh Kumar Goud noted that it was Indira Gandhi who introduced the Land Ceiling Act to empower tribal communities with full implementation later achieved under former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. He also credited Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra for strengthening the party's connection with grassroots communities, which led to initiatives like the caste census in Telangana and the launch of the Indira Soura Giri Jal Vikasam scheme. Under this programme, land ownership rights were granted to over 2.3 lakh tribal farmers through the Recognition of Forest Rights Act.
