Davis' 2024-25 season saw him limited to 51 games due to injuries, including just nine with the Mavericks following the controversial trade.
He averaged 24.7 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.
The Mavericks are hoping a healthy Davis and No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg can help erase some of the fans' ill feelings toward the Doncic maneuver and help return the franchise to contender status.
Davis underwent offseason surgery for a detached retina in his right eye that ailed him during the regular season. He is expected to be ready for training camp, per ESPN.
He posted a cryptic emoji-only message to his Instagram Story Thursday, featuring just a sighing emoji and praying hands.

Can the Warriors add Giannis and still keep Kuminga?

Yahoo Sports senior NBA analyst Kevin O'Connor and NBC Sports NBA Insider Grant Liffmann discuss whether or not the Golden State Warriors will add Giannis Antetokounmpo to the roster and question Jonathan Kuminga's future with the team. Hear the full conversation on 'The Kevin O'Connor Show' and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript The Warriors haven't made a move yet. They're just waiting. Are they one of the teams waiting for Giannis? As Shams kind of alluded to over at ESPN. What's the deal with Golden State right now? Grant? The Warriors will always be big fish hunting. As long as they have Steph Curry, they're gonna big fish hunt. If when Steph Curry is gone, they're gonna big fish hunt because they need to replace Steph Curry, which is impossible because Steph Curry is a unicorn. But like, the point is, if Giannis, sure, it would be crazy if they weren't trying for him, right? Can you imagine putting Giannis with Steph? And so going for big fish, 100%. So, I would just say that like for them with the Kaminga situation and everything, while Steph Curry is, I mean, just an absolute legend, one of the greatest players of all time, it is difficult to play with him sometimes, not because he's difficult. But his movement is so unique out there. So with Jonathan Kaminga in these situations, it should, it can be difficult to adapt to a Steph Curry. If you don't adapt on the fly, and for these young players, that's why you see so many maybe not necessarily work out with the Warriors sometimes and they have to go for veterans because they understand the game has already slowed down, they have to understand that movement a little bit more, but again, playing with Steph Curry is such a unique experience for these players, you need the right fits for that. It's clear to me that if the Warriors do indeed keep Jonathan Kaminga, they want to be able to trade Jonathan Kaminga. It's one of those random situations where leverage is left to all sides, because in one world, you'd assume a Jonathan Kaminga a couple of years ago would have gone a huge contract this year from a team, but no team has cap space. Only one team had cap space enough to give him the money he wanted, right? So now you're talking sign and trades, and sign and trades are not the same anymore because now most teams are limited in what you can do with a sign and trade. Kaminga could try to delay a year and get the qualifying offer because there's going to be much more cap space the following year. But I'm sure in his mind it's like, well, what if I don't play well or don't mesh well again or something happens? And so, and the Warriors meantime are trying to win, and they're like, hey, we, if you are all in. We can try to win with you for now, but we do recognize that this is not the perfect fit. It's just like a whole interesting situation where just no one has leverage. Close

Micah Parsons, Jerry Jones aren't at Thursday's Cowboys practice

Micah Parsons has not practiced at Cowboys training camp this summer, but he has been in attendance in street clothes while his teammates go through drills. That changed on Thursday, however. Reporters at the practice noted that Parsons was absent from the workout. Those reporters also noted that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not at practice either, which sparks thoughts that there may be talks going on about the contract extension that Parsons has been trying to land for a long time. Parsons did make a post to his Instagram story while practice was going on, but it was a repost of someone else from several days ago so it offered no clue as to his location. There's no word about the reason for either absence and contract talks are only one possibility, but anything that leads to an agreement would be a welcome development for Cowboys fans who want to see Parsons at full strength for the start of the regular season.

Maya Jama reveals Ruben Dias' staggering trophy cabinet

Manchester City vice-captain Ruben Dias has seen his remarkable trophy cabinet unveiled on Instagram by girlfriend Maya Jama. The Portugal international has become one of the most decorated defenders in European football since joining Manchester City in the summer of 2020, playing a vital role in the club's era of dominance under Pep Guardiola. From Premier League titles to UEFA Champions League glory, Dias has built an impressive personal collection of silverware, and fans have now been given a rare look inside his home trophy display thanks to a casual post from his high-profile partner. Since confirming their relationship earlier this year, Maya Jama and Ruben Dias have become one of football's most talked-about celebrity couples. Jama – a widely recognised figure in British television – has frequently been spotted attending City matches and supporting Dias both publicly and privately. But her latest Instagram story may have given Manchester City fans their favourite glimpse yet behind the scenes of the club's elite inner circle. With Dias widely regarded as a key figure in Pep Guardiola's leadership group, it comes as no surprise that his domestic success is matched by an equally commanding home tribute to his achievements. Now, thanks to Jama's post, supporters have been able to marvel at the stunning collection amassed by one of City's most consistent performers. Posing for a selfie upload to her Instagram story on Thursday, the television presenter and partner of the Manchester City defender showcased the remarkable haul of honours placed in a position of pride within Dias' city centre apartment. Dias' trophy cabinet includes four consecutive Premier League titles, a UEFA Champions League winners' medal, an FA Cup triumph, and a host of individual accolades, including Manchester City's Player of the Season for 2020/21 and a UEFA Champions League Team of the Season inclusion. His role in City's historic treble-winning campaign during the 2022/23 season arguably remains the standout moment of his career thus far. While the trophy cabinet may be located in a private residence, the display is symbolic of Dias' leadership and winning mentality – a trait that Pep Guardiola and his staff have repeatedly praised. His on-field presence, vocal authority, and willingness to guide younger teammates like Josko Gvardiol and Vitor Reis highlight why he continues to be one of the squad's most respected senior figures. As Manchester City prepare to embark on a new campaign with aspirations of reclaiming the Premier League and making another push for Champions League success, Ruben Dias' influence will again be critical. He remains one of the club's fittest and most dependable players, often available when others around him are battling injury setbacks.
