
Independence Day preparations and security arrangements reviewed in bhopal
On Wednesday, the full-dress parade and final rehearsal for the celebrations were conducted at Lal Parade Ground in the presence of Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana.
DGP and Senior Officials Reviewed Arrangements:
DGP Kailash Makwana, Additional DGP Chanchal Shekhar, Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra, Deputy Commissioner Kiran Gupta, and other senior officials reviewed the arrangements for the Independence Day ceremony.
During the final rehearsal, Assistant Sub-Inspector Hira Lal Yadav from the 23rd Battalion played the role of the chief guest, hoisted the flag, saluted the parade, inspected the contingents, and read out the ceremonial message before the parade concluded.
18 Contingents Including Police Band Will Participate in the Rehearsal:
The rehearsal parade was led by ACP, IPS Officer Aditya Patle, with ACP Divya Jhariya serving as the deputy parade commander.

A total of 18 contingents, including the police band, took part. Participants included contingents from Gujarat Police, Sashastra Seema Bal, Women's Special Armed Force, combined district and railway police, Special Armed Force (Northern Zone), Hawk Force, STF, district police, Jail Department (women), Special Armed Force (Southern Zone), Government Railway Police, Home Guard, NCC Senior Division/Air Wing/Naval Wing (boys), NCC Senior Wing/Air Wing/Naval Wing (girls), Guides (girls), Scouts (boys), Shaurya Dal, police band, and mounted police.
Medal Presentation Rehearsal:
Following the ceremonial message, 65 officers and personnel who will receive the President's Medal practised receiving the honour from the chief guest. Finally, the parade commander and platoon commanders from all participating contingents practised formally introducing themselves to the chief guest.
Security, traffic, parking, and crowd movement arrangements in and around the stadium were also thoroughly inspected during the rehearsal.
Senior officers from the Police Headquarters, district administration, and Bhopal Police were present on the occasion.
Box - Security Arrangements Hiked for Independence Day Celebrations:
DCP (Security and Intelligence) Sonakshi Saxena said that a force of around 800-1000 cops will be deployed at the Lal Parade Ground for security arrangements. Layers of security arrangements will be made. Around 500 cops will remain deployed in the inner layer at the programme venue in sector-wise security.
There will be fixed pickets, high-rise security measures, and patrolling parties deployed in the outer layers.
The venue security arrangements will be done at the Lal Parade Ground in coordination with the SAF Battalion. CCTV cameras and cameras fitted on the police vehicles will be used to monitor security arrangements. Apart from that, drone cameras will be deployed to monitor the security.
She said that checking points have been set up across the city at the police station level. Apart from that, special monitoring and checking are being conducted at sensitive and important spots such as the airport, railway stations, bus stand, major govt buildings, and other spots. Hotels and lodges are being checked.

On the occasion, Sandeep Rai Rathore, Director General of Police, Training, Police Training Headquarters, Chennai, received his Ph.D in Disaster Mitigation and Management at VIT, Vellore. A total of 11,563 students got their degree certificates including 451 PhD scholars. Earlier, as part of the event, Abdul Kalam and Jagadish Chandra Bose blocks, which were men's hostels, were inaugurated by Justice Mr. Mahadevan. I-Day spirit soars in Punjab border belt; health minister Balbir Singh hoists Tricolour in Amritsar
Amritsar: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour across Punjab's border districts. In Amritsar, the district-level event was held at Guru Nanak Stadium, where health and family welfare minister Balbir Singh hoisted the national flag. The minister urged citizens to celebrate the national festival with enthusiasm and reignite the spirit of patriotism, brotherhood, and harmony. The parade featured contingents of Punjab Police, a women's platoon, Home Guards, the Children's Police Band, and a strong presence from the NCC — including seven platoons and 214 cadets from the Amritsar NCC group, marching smartly in unison.
