Former Mumbai Indians cricketer, who is Hardik Pandya's Baroda teammate, arrested on rape charges
Former Mumbai Indians cricketer Shivalik Sharma, on Monday, was arrested on charges of rape, according to multiple media reports. The 26-year-old, who plays for Baroda and is a teammate of the Pandya brothers - Krunal and Hardik - was arrested by Rajasthan Police and taken into custody.
According to reports, Shivalik was brought to the court and then sent to judicial custody after a woman, who was in a relationship with the cricketer, filed a complaint at the Kudi Bhagatsani police station in Jodhpur. She alleged Shivalik engaged in physical relations with her under the false pretext of marriage.
The report also added that the two had met in Vadodara two winters ago, after which they developed a close relationship and have since been in touch over the phone.
The Baroda-based cricketer is a left-handed batting all-rounder. He made his debut for the domestic side in 2018 and represented the team in 18 first-class matches, scoring 1,087 runs. Shivalik also featured in 13 List A games and 19 T20s, scoring 322 runs and 349 runs, respectively. With his legbreak googly variety, he has picked three wickets in all domestic appearances.
Shivalik was last seen in competitive action earlier this year in January during Baroda's Ranji Trophy campaign.
Shivalik was picked by the Mumbai Indians at the IPL auction ahead of the 2023 season for a base price of INR 20 lakh but failed to make an appearance. The franchise released him ahead of the mega auction last November.

Shreyas Iyer to lead, Virat Kohli to open: Check IPL 2025's team of the season, players featuring from CSK, MI, GT, RCB, PBKS and LSG
IPL 2025's memorable season, marked by exciting close games and the emergence of new talent, culminated in a championship victory for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This collection of pictures highlights a Dream Team composed of the season's top performers from various franchises. Broadly speaking, GT's left-handed batter did very well this season, hitting 759 runs and taking home the Orange Cap. His ability to score a lot from the opening positions helped the team win and made him a well-known talent among young players in the league. Virat Kohli played a vital part in RCB's IPL final win by guiding the team to victory. Throughout the season, his 657 runs, especially his key innings, highlighted that he was still very skilled and eager to compete. A big reason for Gujarat Titans' good record in the league was Jos Buttler's impressive batting performance. He helped the team by scoring 538 runs, playing steadily while also being strong behind the wickets. It was Suryakumar Yadav's great batting that helped Mumbai Indians remain competitive in the playoff race and in the final stages of the season. Under Shreyas Iyer's leadership, the Punjab Kings made it to the IPL final but failed to win. By doing this, Shreyas has become the first player to captain various teams in the IPL final. The performance of the Punjab Kings in the tournament was greatly helped by Shreyas' runs. Lucknow Super Giants relied on Pooran's strong batting performance for their success. His impressive performance with the bat generated respect for him as a top bomber in the IPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore would not have won the championship without Krunal Pandya's all-round great performance. He played an important role by getting 17 wickets and scoring an unbeaten 73 runs in a match against the Delhi Capitals. In this season, Prasidh Krishna put on a great show for Gujarat Titans. For recording 25 dismissals, the Purple Cap recognized him as the leader in wicket taking, thanks to his constant fast and accurate performance. The 24 wickets taken by CSK's Noor Ahmad were a main highlight for the team, thanks to his left-arm wrist spin. RCB's first championship win was made possible partly because Josh Hazlewood was accurate as a bowler during the IPL finals and playoffs, helping his team with 22 wickets. Bumrah bowled very efficiently, taking 18 wickets at only 6.67 runs a piece. Sports fans recognized that his role was much greater than simply putting up statistics. The way Marcus Stoinis performed with both bat and ball played an important role for Punjab Kings (PBKS). Thanks to his skills as an Impact Player, the team found a good balance and managed to go to the final.

Authorities Crack Down on Boss IPTV and Affiliate Illegal IPTV Services: Users Warned of Criminal Charges and Deportation Risks
New Delhi: A major international crackdown has uncovered an extensive illegal Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) operation streaming pirated content across various digital platforms. Operating under brand names such as Boss IPTV, Guru IPTV, Tashan IPTV, Brampton IPTV, Vois IPTV, Indian IPTV, Punjabi IPTV, Edmonton IPTV, Boss Entertainment IPTV, and UltrastreamTV, this unlawful network has been implicated in severe copyright infringement and data privacy violations, According to police, these services have been illegally broadcasting premium Indian and international content including channels and programs from Star, Zee Network, Colors, Sony, Sun Network, ETV, Aha, Sonyliv, as well as global streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and international sports leagues—without securing proper licenses or permissions. Delivered through Android/Linux-based set-top boxes or via apps on smart devices, the illegal services were aggressively promoted online via social media, websites, and blogs, offering premium content at prices significantly below legal services. Government investigations reveal that these platforms do not pay content owners or platforms for rights, deeply harming the entertainment industry. The global South Asian broadcast sector loses an estimated $200–$300 million annually due to IPTV piracy, affecting licensed platforms like YuppTV,. In addition to economic damage, there are serious security concerns: pirated IPTV services often harvest user data—such as credit card information—and are linked to phishing scams, tax evasion, and potentially funding other illegal operations including drug trade and terrorism. Previously in 2021, following a complaint filed by YuppTV, the Faridabad Cyber Crime Branch conducted a raid on Boss IPTV operations in India, leading to the arrest of six individuals connected to the illegal piracy network. YuppTV has further filed a civil complaint in the United States District Court, represented by Goldstein Law Group, LLC ('GLP') targeting Boss IPTV and its affiliated entities. The complaint highlights severe violations of U.S. federal copyright law under 18 U.S.C. § 2319. According to GLP: 'Any subscriber using illegal IPTV pirate services… may be linked to copyright infringement, a crime under U.S. federal law. Convictions may result in felony charges, and non-citizens convicted of such offenses may be subject to deportation under U.S. law.' Recently, another similar case was reported by the Gandhinagar Cyber Crime Unit in Gujarat which arrested Mohammed Murtuza Ali, suspected to be the key figure behind another massive illegal IPTV operation known as Bos IPTV. Operating from Jalandhar, Punjab, Ali allegedly ran a piracy network that drew over five million subscribers and generated close to ₹700 crore (US $84 million) in annual revenue. Legal authorities suggest that to avoid the possibility of arrest and other penalties, all current users accessing pirated services immediately discontinue use and migrate to legal, licensed platforms such as YuppTV.
