Jharkhand youth arrested for sloganeering on social media post
The youth, identified as Farhan Mallick, had raised the slogan 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' on his Instagram post, besides posting objectionable comments against the Indian Army, using slogans and the flag of a terrorist organisation.
He was arrested after veteran BJP leader and Ranchi MLA CP Singh alerted Ranchi police, sharing social media details of the youth.
Taking swift action, Ranchi police arrested the youth within an hour, initiating an investigation in this regard. The Instagram account of Farhan Mallick had several objectionable posts, including the flags used by terrorist organisations like ISIS, Taliban and Al-Qaeda, besides having the slogan of Ghazwa-e-Hind.
Earlier, alerting the police, CP Singh posted on his social media handle X, 'Please Note - The pictures shared by Farhan Malick, on his social media are extremely provocative and related to national security and sovereignty of India. On Instagram, he has shared the slogan 'Ghazwa-e-Hind', an insult to the Indian Army, and most seriously, he has shared the flag, which is the identity of international terrorist organizations like ISIS, Taliban, and Al-Qaeda.'

On Pakistan, he reiterated, "There will be no dialogue until terrorism ends. We stopped only after they pleaded for a ceasefire - when they were on their knees."

A large crowd gathered on Church Street on Monday evening after popular German influencer Younes Zarou was spotted filming a video without prior police permission, prompting concerns over public safety and law and order. The influencer was initially detained by the police but was let off with a warning to police sources, an emergency call was received on 112 reporting a huge gathering and alleging that a celebrity was creating a public nuisance in the busy commercial arrival, Cubbon Park police found Zarou in the middle of a video shoot that had drawn a huge crowd. Officers informed him of the complaint and explained that sudden public appearances by high-profile individuals without prior intimation to authorities could escalate into law and order situations. A video shared by the influencer on his Instagram account shows the police taking him with them after detention. The caption of the video says, "Free Younes." "We received a phone call on 112 stating that there was a huge gathering on Church Street and that a celebrity was creating public nuisance," a police source said. "We went to the location and explained the nature of the complaint to him. We also informed him that any untoward incident might occur if a celebrity suddenly appears in a public place without obtaining prior permission from the police, as it could lead to a law and order situation."After a discussion that lasted nearly 30 minutes, Zarou acknowledged the police's concerns and agreed to vacate the location. India-US trade: Officials react cautiously to Russia penalty threat
NEW DELHI: As President Trump threatened to impose a penalty on India for its trade ties with Russia, Indian officials reacted cautiously as they reiterated India's position that securing energy needs of the Indian people is the overriding priority. A source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said India is buying oil not because it wants to help Moscow but because it's the right thing to do based on the prevailing market conditions and the global geopolitical situation. Trump said India has always bought "a vast majority of their military equipment from Russia, and are Russia's largest buyer of energy along with China". However, India had been keen on announcing new plans for defence procurement and co-production arrangements with the US too. During PM Narendra Modi's visit to the US in Feb, Trump pushed India to lower tariffs and buy more defence products from the US that would facilitate a fair trade deal. With the US encouraging India to reduce its dependence on Russian-origin equipment, the leaders had agreed to expand defence sales and co-production to strengthen interoperability and defence industrial cooperation. In that context, govt sources here said some of Trump's claims don't stand up to scrutiny. "The fact is that India-US defence trade has been increasing since 2008, while the dependence on Russia continues to reduce considerably," said an official on condition of anonymity, adding that the US is now among the top arms suppliers to India along with Russia and France. While much has been made of India's imports from Russia, little attention has been paid to the fact that its crude imports from the US have seen a significant jump too with the US emerging as the 4th largest supplier to India in April this year, according to Indian officials.
