Viraj Kapoor opened up about what drew him to the character and how he mentally prepares to portray a negative role.
Television actor Viraj Kapoor has been winning hearts in popular historical drama Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. With his gripping portrayal of the powerful antagonist Nagarjuna, he is bringing plenty of drama, action and unexpected twists in the show. Recently, he sat for an interview with a media portal where he shared his excitement about stepping into this intense role.
In an interview with ETimes, Viraj opened up about what drew him to the character and how he mentally prepares to portray a negative role. Moreover, he spoke about working with popular actor Ronit Roy, who was playing a significant role in the show as well.
Revealing that the depth of Nagarjuna's character was the main reason he decided to accept the role. 'When I learned how powerful this character is and the kind of impact it leaves on the show every time, I knew I had to do it. In the 5th episode, viewers get to know that he has killed his own brother. By the 10th episode, he betrays his father and later plans to kill Ronit Roy's character. There are a lot of things that this character offers. When I got to know about the character, I got very excited and decided to do it," Viraj stated.
Known for his versatile acting, Viraj is not new to playing negative roles. He has stepped into the role of an antagonist in several shows. Sharing his experience, he explained, 'I've played many negative roles before, so I have never struggled with keeping distinctions. As an actor, it's important to know when to switch on and switch off from the role, which personally I know with time. While shooting, you have to immerse yourself completely in the character, otherwise, fans won't enjoy what they see."
Viraj also expressed his enthusiasm about working with acclaimed actor Ronit Roy. In a chat with Zoom, the young actor said, 'I've admired Ronit sir since the beginning. I had never worked with him. In the beginning, I was nervous, but not scared. The person whom you've seen since childhood—you like their qualities, but when you work with them, you need to keep that excitement aside. Because if you are in a zone of excitement, you can't perform."
As the main villain in Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Viraj's character plays an important role in shaping the storyline. Nagarjuna's betrayal and power struggles bring a significant twist to the plot, especially with his menacing plans to kill King Someshwar (played by Ronit Roy).
Before Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Viraj Kapoor was seen playing significant roles in shows like Tera Yaar Hoon Main, Kulfi Kumar Bajewala and Nadaan Parindey Ghar Aaja.

Sanya Malhotra Celebrates National Award For Kathal: 'I'm Deeply Honoured'

Last Updated: Sanya Malhotra celebrated her Netflix satire Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery winning the National Film Award for Best Hindi Film. The National Award winners were announced on August 1. Sanya Malhotra is over the moon as her Netflix satire Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery clinched the National Film Award for Best Hindi Film (Feature). Reacting to the honour, Sanya expressed heartfelt gratitude to the team behind the film and shared how special the project has been for her. 'I'm deeply honoured that Kathal has been awarded the National Award for Best Hindi Film," Sanya said in a statement, adding, 'This story has been very special to me, and I'm grateful to Guneet Monga and Achin Jain, and the entire team for trusting me with such a unique role." Directed by Yashowardhan Mishra, Kathal is a satirical social commentary cleverly disguised as a quirky mystery. The film blends humour with a sharp take on bureaucracy, gender dynamics, and media spectacle — all wrapped around the case of two missing jackfruits. Sanya's performance as a determined young cop investigating the bizarre case earned praise for its sincerity and nuance. 'The film reflects important social realities with satire and heart, and I'm so glad it resonated with audiences. This recognition encourages me to continue choosing meaningful cinema," she added, thanking the jury and all those who supported the film. Actor Anantvijay Joshi, who was a part of Kathal, spoke to News18 Showsha after Kathal won big at National Awards. 'I just received a call from somebody to congratulate me and that is how I got to know. It seems quite right for a film like Kathal, which is so cleverly written and made with so much love and good intent. It is a great satire. I think it feels very, very gratifying," the actor shared. Anantvijay also recalled the time he was working on the movie and shared that he never expected that the film will win the National Award one day. 'We were only enjoying what was written and how it was written while we were shooting for it. I don't think we ever had a conversation about awards because all of us on sets considered that Kathal was not particularly very award-driven. But we were very sure that people would really appreciate this film," he stated. Apart from Kathal, 2023 was a significant year for Sanya, who also appeared in Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Meghna Gulzar's Sam Bahadur, both of which went on to win National Awards. BTS V's New Photoshoot Has Fans Calling Him ‘The Definition Of Perfection'

Kim Taehyung turned out to be a muse for a magazine and was photographed by the well-known photographer Kim Hee June. ARMYs, hold your breath because Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, is back and looks more breathtaking than ever. The 29-year-old K-pop idol, who got discharged from the military following the completion of his mandatory service in June this year, has returned to the spotlight in the most stylish way possible. He became a muse for a magazine and was captured through the lens of the well-known photographer Kim Hee June. V turned out to be the cover star for The Sure magazine's August issue. The BTS member, as usual, took everyone's breath away with his magnetic personality and dreamy looks. For the pictures, he wore Celine, the same luxury label for which he is a global brand ambassador. The photos were taken during V's trip to Paris for fashion week in June. In one set of pictures, the global icon rocked a crisp striped shirt with black trousers and a loosened tie, exuding his usual charm as he posed against the backdrop of the Parisian cityscape. In a few other photos, V decided to go bold, wearing a mesh top paired with an over-the-top fur jacket, a leather jacket and black pants. Some other images captured him in just a white vest and pants, showcasing his fit and sculpted physique. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sure Magazine (@suremagazine) Fans Couldn't Stop Gushing Over V's Looks Fans, of course, had a lot to say about V's latest dreamy photoshoot. Taking to the comment section of the Instagram post by the magazine, one user wrote, 'He truly is a global icon. The camera loves him whether he's funny, serious, charming, humble, etc… Even his simple ways become grand whenever in focus… He truly is born to be loved and deserves our admiration." Another added, 'Kim Taehyung is really the definition of perfection. So excited for this." 'Effortlessly handsome, endlessly captivating," a different fan said while praising the idol. What's Next For BTS' V? These new pictures came right after V teased his fans, saying that he had some surprise in store for them. During his live broadcast, he said, 'Actually, in August, there will be a little something for ARMYs to see." This led to speculations about a possible comeback or a fresh solo project. While it's not sure if V was talking about the same photoshoot, fans were still happy to see new pictures of their favourite idol. Moreover, recently, V was also announced as the new endorsement model for Coca-Cola in Korea. Workwise, he is also busy preparing for a new album with his bandmates in the US. The album is scheduled to be released sometime in 2026. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
