Gotta wear 'em all! Uniqlo launches new Pokémon TCG-themed clothing line

Uniqlo is no stranger to video game-themed clothing lineups, and its latest launch is no except. The latest products all hail from the Pokémon Trading Card Game and depict your favorite cards, attacks, and more. The designs are available as both tee shirts and sweatshirts (perfect for that upcoming fall weather), but fair warning: lineups like this tend to rotate quickly, so if you see something you have your eye on, don't wait too long to snatch it up. Fan-favorite designs like Pikachu, Omanyte, Gengar, and Snorlax are all available. Adult prices start at roughly $20 and go up to $40 for sweatshirts. Sizes range from extra small up to XXL, although some designs only extend to a large. The full range of shirts is available to browse on Uniqlo's website. Recommended Videos There's also a lineup for kids, too, if you want to make sure your whole family matches the look. All of the clothing items are unisex. The Pikachu design (shown above) is a particular favorite; not only does it have a miniaturized Pokédex entry for your favorite electric mouse, but it also has multiple different card designs shown within the silhouette. Uniqlo has featured Pokémon designs before, but this is the first time we've seen Pokémon TCG Pocket designs included in the mix. The popular mobile trading card game has dominated the charts since its launch late last year and features some of the most unique card art we've ever seen. Seriously, Pokémon: I would pay money for prints. Previously, Uniqlo has launched Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Final Fantasy, and Animal Crossing clothing lines. Most of those aren't available any longer, but you can still get your hands on its Studio Ghibli lineup if you're a Totoro fan. The Pokémon designs are available now, but it isn't clear how long they'll remain on sale.

McDonald's Japan started a feeding frenzy with Pokémon card happy meals. Here are 3 other times the chain's giveaways got wild.

McDonald's Japan launched Happy Meals with special Pokémon trading cards, and fans went wild. The chain held a giveaway of the trading cards with their children-focused Happy Meals from August 9 to 11. However, it had to stop the giveaway on the first day, saying it had run out of toys. "The first wave of Pokémon Happy Meal® toys has sold out," McDonald's said in a notice on its website. "We sincerely apologize for not being able to meet customer expectations due to the early end of sales." Posts on X show large crowds in stores, with people buying several meals to get multiple cards, and discarding bags of food in and around the stores. 中身が入ったままのマックの袋が捨てられてました💦 おそらくハッピーセットのポケモン欲しさに大量買いして食べずに捨てたのかもしれませんが酷すぎますね😣 — まさ@おじさん (@fx_masaozi3) August 9, 2025 In its notice, McDonald's requested that customers refrain from ordering more meals than they could eat and not purchase meals for resale or commercial purposes. It also asked that customers not contact stores asking for Happy Meal availability. Representatives for McDonald's did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider. Pokémon trading cards mean big business. One pull factor, particularly for millennials, is nostalgia. The president of the trading card grading company, Professional Sports Authenticator, told Business Insider in 2024 that Pokémon cards are the most popular collectible in the world. New card sets draw huge crowds to Pokémon stores. The Pokémon Centre in Singapore's Jewel Changi Airport saw over a thousand people turn up for its January launch, and police had to be called in to manage the crowd. And Lego, trying to ride the Pokémon hype train, announced a collaboration with the franchise in March, set for release in 2026. There have been other occasions when McDonald's giveaways and special offerings prompted customers to flock to stores. Here are some highlights. The BTS Meal (2021) BTS fans worldwide made a beeline for McDonald's when it launched a meal in collaboration with the K-pop boy band in 2021. The meal itself was simple: 10 pieces of McNuggets, medium fries, a medium Coke, and sweet chili and Cajun sauces inspired by items in McDonald's stores in South Korea. The meal was launched in about 50 countries to great fanfare, with some branches in Indonesia being forced to close because of the overwhelming demand. The meals were so popular that BTS fans tried to preserve the purple wrapping they came in. Some fans documented themselves washing, drying, and framing the wrapping. Others made posts on social media, cataloguing how they coated the wrappers in resin to make keychains. Hello Kitty plushies in Singapore (2015) For Singapore's 50th independence anniversary in 2015, McDonald's launched limited-edition Hello Kitty plushies in the island city. The plushies were designed to look like iconic Singaporean characters, such as a trishaw driver. One was wearing a durian costume, Singapore's national fruit. The giveaway drew snaking lines to McDonald's stores in Singapore. McDonald's Singapore has a track record of releasing crowd-pleasing Hello Kitty collaborations. That trend goes back to its "Wedding Series" in 2000, which featured plushies in various Asian wedding outfits. Cactus Plant Flea Market Happy Meal (2022) In 2022, McDonald's launched an adult Happy Meal in collaboration with streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market. The meal was tailored to adult portion sizes and consisted of a choice of Big Mac or 10-piece McNuggets, fries, and a drink. Customers could also find one of four toy collectibles in the meal box. McDonald's workers in the US told BI in October 2022 that the meal had sold out across numerous outlets in the country on launch day.

Lewis the Pumpkin King returns to Target – at least online. See Halloween 2025 drop.

It's never too early to prepare for Halloween – at least not at Target. The retailer officially listed more than 1,500 spooky, seasonal finds online, and prices start at $1, the company announced Aug 11. Among this year's items are snacks; Victorian-inspired pieces and Lewis, the $180 8-foot-tall pumpkin ghoul that was first sold in October 2023 and sold out during its first week. Lewis boasts multiple phrases, including a saying to correct those who fail to address the Pumpkin King properly: "I am not a jack-o-lantern," Lewis says. "My name is Lewis." Many of the items are part of Target's Hyde & EEK! Boutique, a Halloween-owned brand. Those decorations include the Featherly Friends werewolf, cat and vampire-inspired bird figurines. 'We know millions of families love Halloween and don't want to wait until October to shop, so Target is ready,' Rick Gomez, Target's chief commercial officer, said in a press release. Here's a look at Target's Halloween 2025 drop. What's new this year? Lewis is back with friends. According to Target, the company has brought back Lewis the pumpkin ghoul with some additions: a werewolf, a vampire and a witch. There are also new costumes for kids, adults and pets starting at $10, the company said in its press release. Costumes include pop stars, Marvel's Spiderman, Lilo & Stitch, and Minecraft, as well as Elphaba and Glinda from the musical "Wicked." Target also offers adaptive costumes for those with disabilities, such as Marvel's Black Panther adaptive costume and a firefighter costume with a wheel cover for people who use wheelchairs. Not just orange and black: Pink Halloween is here Target also said the retailer has options for Halloween-lovers who want to try something outside of the traditional purple, green, orange and black Halloween colors. There's a blush pink, shimmery, poseable skeleton and a Disco-inspired poseable Jack-o-lantern decoration. When will Halloween items be in Target stores? While Target hasn't announced an exact date, Halloween items will be in stores starting in September, the press release said.
