Oregon State Police searching for vehicle involved in Marion County road rage shooting
Just before 12:30 a.m., Oregon State Police troopers responded to a report of a road rage incident on I-5 southbound between mileposts 263 and 265.
Police said it involved a Nissan Maxima and an SUV 'resembling a 2008–2011 Dodge Journey.'

During an altercation, a passenger in the Dodge wearing a ski mask fired shots at the Nissan, hitting a rear panel on the car multiple times.
No injuries were reported, officials said.
The Dodge Journey is described as 'possibly gold or silver' and was last seen exiting I-5 south at milepost 263, according to OSP.
Although the events leading up to the incident have not been released at this time, OSP says there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle is encouraged to contact Oregon State Police.

Former Heat security officer pleads guilty to theft of jerseys
A former Miami Heat security officer accused of stealing hundreds of game-worn jerseys pleaded guilty to transporting and transferring stolen goods across state lines in the Southern District of Florida on Tuesday. Marcos Tomas Perez, 62, had previously worked as a police officer for the city of Miami for 25 years before his employment with the Heat from 2016 to 2021 and then as an NBA security employee from 2022 to 2025. According to allegations described by the U.S. Attorney's Office in a statement, Perez stole more than 400 jerseys and other items from a secured equipment room and sold them to online brokers, including more than 100 stolen items over a period of three-plus years for which he garnered $1.9 million, often selling items below market value. Later, he would return to steal items from the room. According to the same document, Perez utilized a third-party liaison to broker the deals, splitting the profits. Then he used his corporate entity, South Florida Signature Authenticators Incorporated, to sell the items. Platforms identified in the document as venues for him advertising and negotiating deals include OfferUp, eBay and Instagram. The most notable example cited by the U.S. Attorney's Office was LeBron James' jersey from Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals, which he sold for $100,000. That jersey would go on to fetch $3.7 million in an auction at Sotheby's. A Heat spokesperson declined cllct's request for comment. A Sotheby's spokesperson also declined to comment. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Perez's home April 3, recovering nearly 300 additional stolen game-worn jerseys and memorabilia, which the Heat confirmed had been stolen from its facility, according to the statement. Creston Police: Two charged with OWI
Aug. 19—Richard C. Dresback, 48, of Creston, was taken into custody 1:22 a.m. Aug. 16, at Carpenter and Walnut streets on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, persons ineligible to carry a dangerous weapon, OWI, first offense and possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, first offense. According to a Creston Police report at approximately 12:51 a.m. a 2002 Nissan Maxima was stopped for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Dresback, who had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Dresback told officers the odor was tequila. Dresback consented to field sobriety testing, during which he showed numerous signs of impairment. He consented to a PBT which showed his BrAC to be over .08%. Dresback told officers to get his phone and wallet from his car and to roll the windows up and lock the doors. While officers were doing these things, a 9mm handgun was observed in plain view in the driver's door, as well as open alcohol containers next to the gun. Dresback was told a probable cause search would be conducted and he admitted to there being marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the car. Officers located both items as well as more open alcohol containers. After being transported to the law enforcement center, Dresback consented to provide a breath sample for chemical testing. The test result indicated his BAC to be .096%. Dresback was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $3,300 cash or surety bond. — — — — — Logan B. Hill, 21, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:01 a.m. Aug. 16, at Prairie Street and Crest Drive on the charge of OWI, first offense. According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:37 p.m. Aug. 15, a 2017 Ford Focus was observed traveling 47 mph in a 35 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Hill. Hill was observed to have bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. He admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the night. Officers also observed open alcohol containers in the vehicle. Hill consented to field sobriety testing and showed numerous clues of impairment. A PBT indicated his BrAC to be above .08%. Hill was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath sample for chemical testing, the result of which showed his BAC to be .155%. Prosecutors: Uniformed Detroit cop assaulted, pointed gun at mother of his children
An ex-Detroit police officer is accused of following the mother of his children into a parking lot on the city's west side, holding her at gunpoint and assaulting her while in uniform. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday, Aug. 19, announced it was charging Justice Calvin, 31, with assault with a dangerous weapon, felony firearm, larceny from the person and domestic violence. He turned himself in earlier the same day, according to a media release from Prosecutor Kym Worthy's office. Calvin, who was an officer at the time, allegedly trailed the woman in his vehicle to the parking lot of a nursing home at Schaefer and Fenkell just before midnight on Jan. 26, the release said. Once in the parking lot, he pointed his gun at her and forcefully removed her from the passenger side of her vehicle, then physically assaulted her. Calvin was due to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in 36th District Court. The Detroit Police Department did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
