It was the 25-year-old's third record of 2025 having also cleared 6.27m in Clermont-Ferrand in February.
Duplantis notched up his 33rd competition victory, clearing 6.11m on his first attempt to finish ahead of Greece's Emmanouil Karalis (6.02m) and Australia's Kurtis Marschall (5.83m).
On his second attempt at 6.29m, Duplantis touched the bar with one leg and his stomach, but it held, and the jump was validated.
Since Ukrainian Sergey Bubka became the first athlete to clear 6 metres on July 13, 1985 in Paris, the world record has been broken 26 times, including 12 times by Bubka, 13 times by Duplantis and once by Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie.
The US-born Duplantis first broke the world record in 2020 with 6.17m.
Duplantis is favourite for a third consecutive outdoor world title in a month's time in Tokyo.

Calgary Flames goalie Dustin Wolf confirms extension negotiations are underway
Gavin Young/Postmedia Calgary Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf has confirmed that contract extension talks with the team are officially in motion. The 24-year-old pending restricted free agent, whose current deal runs through the 2025-26 season, expressed his desire to remain in Calgary. While no agreement has been finalized, both Wolf and the Flames appear committed to finding common ground and securing his long-term future with the organization. Calgary Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf and team aligned on long-term NHL future Speaking with the media, Wolf revealed that negotiations are ongoing and that both sides share the same objective, keeping him in Calgary. 'They're working, that's about all I can really tell you. There's talks, but nothing really confirmed yet,' Wolf said. 'I'd love to stay here and I think they want me to stay here, as well.' Wolf's future role became even more prominent after the Flames moved on from goaltender Dan Vladar earlier this offseason. That decision leaves Wolf alongside Devin Cooley, providing him with a prime opportunity to step into the team's long-term starting role. The Flames' willingness to discuss a new deal this early indicates their belief in his potential and value to the franchise. Dustin Wolf's offseason commitment and Calgary Flames community presence The California-born netminder has spent his summer in Calgary, training, attending local events, and integrating himself further into the community. Wolf's decision not to travel extensively during the offseason reinforces his commitment to the city and organization. His community presence has made him a fan favorite, and his rapid rise through the Flames' system has only fueled excitement for his future. While no timeline for a new contract has been set, Wolf suggested that once both sides agree on terms, the deal could be completed quickly. The Flames, betting on Wolf's upside, will likely aim for a contract that balances long-term security with cap flexibility, a calculated move given his current trajectory. With negotiations underway and mutual interest evident, Dustin Wolf's future in Calgary looks promising. The Flames' early commitment to extending the young goaltender signals their belief in him as a cornerstone player. If an agreement is reached soon, Wolf could solidify not only his role as the team's starter but also his place as one of Calgary's foundational pieces for years to come. Carlo Ancelottis son wins his first Copa Libertadores match as Botafogo coach
Rio de Janeiro, Aug 15 (AP) Davide Ancelotti, the son of Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti, has won his first Copa Libertadores match as the new manager of defending champion Botafogo. The 35-year-old Ancelotti joined the Brazilian club in July for his first experience as a full-time coach. Botafogo beat Ecuador's Liga de Quito 1-0 at Nilton Santos Stadium in the first leg of a round-of-16 tie late Thursday. Striker Artur scored after 14 seconds. For official purposes, assistant Cláudio Cacapa signed the match-related documents as Botafogo's coach. Ancelotti did not have full authorization from CONMEBOL to fill that role for a bureaucratic reason, according to Botafogo. Last month, Ancelotti was contracted through 2026 after Botafogo owner John Textor fired Renato Paiva following the team's round-of-16 elimination at the Club World Cup. Botafogo is the Brazilian and Copa Libertadores titles holder. (AP) UNG view comments First Published: August 15, 2025, 22:30 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. England making Jacob Bethell its youngest ever mens cricket captain at 21
Agency: London, Aug 15 (AP) Jacob Bethell will break a record which has stood for 136 years when the 21-year-old allrounder becomes England's youngest ever men's cricket captain next month. Bethell will lead England against Ireland in three Twenty20s in Dublin. The previous youngest England captain was Monty Bowden, who was 23 in 1889 when he took charge for a test in South Africa after regular skipper Aubrey Smith fell ill with fever. Some senior players will be missing in Ireland including usual white-ball captain Harry Brook, who will be in charge of one-day international and T20 games against visiting South Africa earlier in September. 'Jacob Bethell has impressed with his leadership qualities ever since he has been with the England squads, and the series against Ireland will provide him with the opportunity to further develop those skills on the international stage," England men's selector Luke Wright said in a statement on Friday. The captaincy is part of a rapid rise for Bethell, who made his debuts for England in all three formats only last year. The series in Ireland begins on Sept. 17.
