Honda seems to be working on an affordable electric bike, which is based on the Honda Shine 100 commuter motorcycle. The Japanese two-wheeler giant has filed a patent application for the electric motorcycle, which has revealed the upcoming EV's design and technology plans. As it appears, the OEM is planning to bring an ultra-inexpensive electric motorcycle to the market that would help the brand tap a segment which has so far been dominated by models with higher price tags.

The Kinetic DX is making a comeback in electric guise. The Kinetic Green DX is slated for launch on July 28, 2025. This would be Kinetic's second attempt at reviving a legacy nameplate after the E-Luna recently. The Kinetic DX scooter, produced from 1984 to 2007 by a joint venture between India's Kinetic Engineering and Japan's Honda Motor Company, was based on the Honda NH Series scooters and powered by a 98 cc two-stroke, air-cooled engine. The new one will be an all-electric model instead.

Porsche has launched the Taycan 4S Black Edition in India, which comes as a stealthy-looking iteration of the electric flagship sedan of the German high-performance car manufacturer. Launched at Rs 2.07 crore (ex-showroom), the Porsche Taycan 4S Black Edition is Rs 11 lakh expensive compared to the standard Taycan 4S.

Kinetic is back! New electric scooter with 1980s charm set to launch on July 28

A teaser confirming the launch date has already been released, and test mules of the upcoming scooter have been spotted on Indian roads. Despite being under wraps, the new Kinetic DX appears to draw heavily from the design of the iconic Kinetic Honda DX, a scooter that became a household name across India in the 1980s. According to TOI, spy images suggest that the e-scooter's front apron, headlamp cluster, and overall silhouette clearly reflect its retro roots while blending in modern elements like a backlit Kinetic logo and a TFT instrument the vintage styling, the scooter packs a modern electric drivetrain. The upcoming model will use a hub-mounted motor and is expected to offer battery options between 2 kWh and 3.5 kWh. It will likely reach a top speed of 80 km/h, putting it in the same league as other premium electric scooters such as the Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida VX2, TOI highlights are likely to include 12-inch wheels, a front disc brake, telescopic front forks, and dual rear shock absorbers. While full specifications and pricing will be revealed at the official unveiling, Kinetic Green reportedly has aggressive plans for India's EV market, with three 'Born Electric' scooters expected to launch over the next 18 months, The Times of India added.

Remember the Kinetic DX? It is coming back this month
Back in the late 1980s, scooters ruled Indian roads, and the Bajaj Chetak was among the most sought-after models, alongside the popular LML range. But it was the Kinetic Honda DX that truly shook up the market. This scooter was revolutionary for its time: it featured an electric start, an automatic transmission, and a comprehensive analogue instrument cluster that included a speedometer, odometer, telltale lights, and even a fuel to its convenience was an optional side stand, which made hopping on and off effortless, ideal for the fast-paced lives of urban riders. The Kinetic Honda DX marked a turning point in India's scooter the split between Kinetic and Honda, the scooter continued to be sold under the name Kinetic DX. Before being discontinued, it even saw an upgrade to a 4-stroke engine variant called the Kinetic 4S. Now, in a bid to revive nostalgia, Kinetic is all set to bring the iconic scooter back on 28th July 2025. And word is, it will retain its original name, the Kinetic DX: The design makes all the differenceThe Kinetic DX had a distinctive design for its time, featuring a sleek front mudguard and a trailing link suspension setup. Its front apron carried minimal decals, maintaining a clean look thanks to the headlamp and indicators being integrated into the handlebar new-generation Kinetic DX stays true to this original aesthetic, albeit in a sleeker, more aerodynamic form. From the side, the silhouette remains nearly identical to the original, preserving its retro charm. However, the rear has seen a modern update, now sporting a sleeker, all-LED tail DX gets a modern touch with a contemporary LCD instrument display. The switchgear retains a nostalgic connection to the original, with the 'Start' button proudly finished in red, just like expected, the new Kinetic DX is all-electric, powered by a hub-mounted motor, marking a seamless blend of heritage and modernity. The Kinetic DX is expected to have a range of 100km on a single charge. It will also offer telescopic front suspension along with a disc brake that should come with the higher variants. Alloy wheels too are on the cards, along with tubeless Kinetic DX will rival the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, Hero Vida VX2, Bajaj Chetak and the Ola S1 Kinetic is it anyway?Kinetic has given India two truly iconic products in the past, the Kinetic Luna and the Kinetic DX. While the Luna recently made a comeback in an electric avatar, it was launched under Kinetic Green, a brand that now boasts a fairly strong dealership network across the here's where things get interesting: the Kinetic DX revival appears to be happening under a different banner: Watts and Volts!So, does this mean there's a potential collaboration with Kinetic Green for sales and service support?
