No Surprises As Ambati Rayudu Picks MS Dhoni As India's No.1 Captain. Virat Kohli Down At...

Former batter Ambati Rayudu blind ranked some of India's finest all format captains from number one to six. In a video shared by ESPNcricinfo, Rayudu was asked to rank the likes of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, Kapil Dev and Mohammed Azharuddin. As expected, Rayudu ranked Dhoni as India's finest ever leader, having won three ICC title during his reign as captain. For the unversed, Dhoni is the only India captain to win all three ICC white-ball events - 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni's named had popped up after Rayudu had already ranked the other five former India captains. He kept Ganguly at no. 3, three followed by Kapil, who led India to their first-ever World Cup success back in 1983, at no. 4. When it was Rohit's turn, Rayudu paused for a bit, before eventually ranking him as second. Next up was Kohli, India's most successful Test captain. Rayudu said that while Kohli would've been in the top two if Test cricket was the criteria, he decided to put him at no. 5 since it's an all format list. Mohammad Azharuddin 's name followed next, and Rayudu swiftly assigned him the sixth spot. With only one position left, the top spot, it has to be MS Dhoni for Rayudu. He placed his former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and former Team India skipper at number one with a big smile on his face. The two share a long association, particularly at CSK, and Rayudu has often publicly praised Dhoni. Under Dhoni's captaincy, India played 332 matches across all formats, winning 178, losing 120 and drawing 15. Under Dhoni's leadership, India completed a historic whitewash over Australia in the 2012/13 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, featuring at the pinnacle of India's distinguished achievements. Ambati Rayudu's final ranking: (1) MS Dhoni, (2) Rohit Sharma, (3) Sourav Ganguly, (4) Kapil Dev, (5) Virat Kohli, (6) Mohammad Azharuddin.

Yuzvendra Chahal On Divorce T-Shirt ‘Be Your Own Sugar Daddy': ‘I Wanted To Give A Message'

Last Updated: Yuzvendra Chahal breaks silence on his viral 'Be Your Own Sugar Daddy' t-shirt worn during divorce, says it was a message, not a publicity stunt. Yuzvendra Chahal has finally addressed the viral moment when he wore a t-shirt that read 'Be Your Own Sugar Daddy" on the day of his final divorce hearing with Dhanashree Verma. The cricketer, who had remained largely silent about the separation until recently, opened up about the intent behind the now-infamous outfit in a chat with Raj Shamani. During his appearance on the podcast, Chahal revealed that the message on his t-shirt wasn't meant to create drama but rather to send out a pointed message. 'Meko nahi karna tha drama, I just wanted to give one message and mai ne vo de diya," he said, suggesting that while he had no initial plans to make a statement, something from the other side pushed him to do so. When prodded further about the reason behind the bold slogan, Chahal laughed and hinted that something had occurred from Dhanashree's side that prompted his reaction. 'Kyunki saamne se kuch cheej hua tha, aur mera pehle mann nahi tha. Fir saamne se kuch hua toh fir mai ne kaaha ab sambhaal lo ab mujhe nahi parwah kisi ki. Mai ne na kisi ko abuse kra, bus mujhe message dena tha," he clarified, indicating that his action was more of a response than a provocation. He also opened up about the financial settlement, admitting that the negotiation process was difficult. 'I had signed a good deal," Chahal said, which made him want to move on from the marriage as quickly as possible. Something happened during that period that further solidified his decision to go ahead with the symbolic t-shirt. Delving deeper into the relationship, the Indian spinner admitted that both he and Dhanashree decided not to show any signs of their strained relationship on social media until things were final. When asked if he was faking the marriage in public, Chahal agreed with a simple 'yes." He further revealed that he hadn't spoken to Dhanashree since the 2024 World Cup and last saw her only six months ago via video call during their court proceedings. On whether he thought the relationship could have worked out, Chahal said, 'I gave my 100 percent," implying that he has no regrets about the effort he put in. India men's football head coach: What makes Khalid Jamil frontrunner ahead of Stephen Constantine & Stefan Tarkovic?

The Indian men's football team will have a new head coach when the All India Football Federation (AIFF) executive committee meets virtually on Friday. Following the departure of Manolo Marquez, the AIFF had invited applications for the position. The governing body of Indian football in the country shortlisted Khalid Jamil, Stephen Constantine and Stefan Tarkovic among the 170 names submitted. Jamil is currently coaching Jamshedpur FC in the ongoing Durand Cup while Constantine is a former India head coach. Tarkovic, who had been a national team coach, has no links with Indian football. However, among the three, Jamil looks to be the frontrunner for the top job. A former player, Tarkovic has been at helm for his native Slovakia and Kyrgyzstan - a criteria that will be given preference according to the AIFF advertisement. However, Tarkovic lack of knowledge about Indian football puts him out of contention for the job. Tarkovic's last assignment was with Kyrgyzstan that ended in June 2024. Why Stephen Constantine is unlikely to get third term? Constantine, 62, has been India head coach twice, from 2002-05 and 2015-19. The Anglo-Cypriot was also in charge of East Bengal in the Indian Super League in 2022-23 but the club's ninth-place finish could put him at a disadvantage. Constantine took charge of Pakistan in 2023 and though they won a first World Cup qualifier (against Cambodia) under him, it turned out to be his only win in 10 matches in charge.
