With the Dallas Cowboys coming together for the first time under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer starting Monday, 2025 is coming into full vie. Quarterback Dak Prescott answered a bevy of questions at the 35th annual Children's Cancer Fund Gala, and it's safe to say he will be there to start OTAs with his teammates. No word yet on whether defensive end Micah Parsons will attend, but he should after he ripped a college quarterback for holding out for a better NIL deal.
OTAs will give some a chance to take a break from the draft talk and focus on the new faces on the club. But those who cannot get enough of draft season are in luck, there's always plenty of that talk to go around. Also, a recap of the 2020 NFL draft, replacing guard Zack Martin, and another big name drops by the star for an official visit. Lastly, Cowboys Nation sounded off when a tweet from former Eagles running back and TV personality LeSean McCoy forced the Dallas faithful to respond en masse round out the latest news surrounding the Cowboys.

Already dealing with a complicated contract situation with No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin, the Washington Commanders got more bad news Wednesday when No. 3 receiver Noah Brown was carted off the field at the team's minicamp practice. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Washington Commanders may have suffered a major blow to their receiving corps after a key piece in the rotation when down Wednesday. Multiple sources reported out of the team's Wednesday practice that Noah Brown went down with an injury and had to be carted off the field. Advertisement There have been no updates on the nature of the injury at this time. This comes just a day after Terry McLaurin's holdout from team activities became official as he seeks out a contract extension. McLaurin will not report to mandatory minicamp which started on Tuesday and ends Thursday. Brown caught 35 passes for 453 yards last season, the most notable of which came in the Commanders' stunning Hail Mary victory over the Chicago Bears. He spent five of his previous six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before signing with the Houston Texans in 2023. Washington has pieced together notable wide receiver depth through the offseason. The team drafted Jaylin Lane in the fourth round after adding Deebo Samuel through trade in March and signing veterans Michael Gallup and K.J. Osborn. Advertisement However, Brown's loss would be a considerable blow if the injury turns into a serious matter. The Commanders have centered their offseason on building a formidable offensive unit around Daniels. Brown's rapport with the young quarterback was a major plus as a returning piece. Now with Brown potentially out of action and the timetable on McLaurin's return uncertain, there may be some growing angst around the team as they wait on a report out with further information. Commanders' Austin Ekeler Details Benefits Of Running It Back Amid Trade Rumors

Commanders' Austin Ekeler Details Benefits Of Running It Back Amid Trade Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Washington Commanders will enter the 2025 season with the majority of the offense from 2024 returning. Advertisement Led by quarterback Jayden Daniels, Zach Ertz, and we think Terry McLaurin, who is going through a contract saga, the Commanders have seen most key players return, and one of which is running back Austin Ekeler. Having gone through concussion issues last year, Ekeler is now fully healthy and ready to hit the ground running in his second season in the NFC East. And that is made a whole lot easier when everything has roughly stayed the same. "I was talking to Jayden [Daniels] about this actually," Ekeler said via JP Finlay. "We were talking about how having the same offense back to back and how it doesn't necessarily slow the game down, but mentally you're able to process a little bit more, so you're able to keep more on your plate. Advertisement "It gives the kind of a confidence in yourself that you know where you're supposed to be, you know the steps. Still got to get the younger guys and the new guys up to speed, but it's a lot easier to get a few guys in the whole than the whole squad." Washington Commanders running back Austin EkelerEric Hartline-Imagn Images So the Commanders will be hoping they can play a little faster with most of the offensive group already knowing Kliff Kingsbury's scheme from last season. ... and that figures to include Ekeler, who has been the subject of a mountain of trade rumors this offseason. But now? Continuity? That will help early on, as last year, the group was still figuring out the system. ... and they aren't burdened by that now. Advertisement With Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil the new additions, both will take time to acclimate to their new surroundings, but will have enough help from the veterans like Ekeler, who can guide them through this early portion of the offseason. Many believe the Commanders will again be one of the teams to beat in the NFC, and perhaps a hidden advantage is that the majority of the offense is returning, which could allow for a fast start in 2025. Well, that's the hope, anyway. Commanders Media Bizarre Criticism of Cowboys Offseason

Commanders Media Bizarre Criticism of Cowboys Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Look, there's plenty of ammunition for critics of the Dallas Cowboys. In case we haven't forgotten, they last played in a Super Bowl almost 30 years ago.. Advertisement And although it's always fun to poke Jerry Jones and one of the Washington Commanders' biggest NFC East rivals, there's some real stretching going on this offseason. By stealing from Dallas - hello, Dan Quinn - the Commanders leap-frogged the Cowboys last season on their way to the NFC Championship Game. Washington should be targeting the Philadelphia Eagles above them, not the Cowboys below them. Nonetheless, a new story on Friday is taking shots at Dallas for what most analysts believe was a good, productive offseason. The Cowboys filled the void of future Hall of Famer Zack Martin by drafting offensive lineman Tyler Booker 12th overall. They also pulled a bold trade, acquiring talented-but-temperamental receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers. But reads the story, "the Cowboys' failure to address one of their most pressing needs could end up being their downfall." Advertisement The writer targets Dallas' running backs. That's fair, given the departures of Ezekiel Elliott and leading rusher Rico Dowdle. But criticizing Jones for a "failure to address" the position is questionable. The Cowboys signed veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, and then drafted Texas' Jaydon Blue in the fifth round. "So, let's get this straight," the story reads. "The Cowboys thought it would be a good idea to sign a career 4.0 YPC running back (Williams) and a guy who has hardly played over the last two seasons while watching his starting job get snatched in Carolina (Sanders). Those two are sure to lead Dallas to the promised land. But, just in case they don't, have no fear! The Cowboys' fifth-round running back is here to play rescue. "That's not a knock on Blue by any means. But, if the Cowboys are banking on a fifth-round rookie saving this franchise's running back room, they've got another thing coming." How nonsensical is this angle? The writer then concedes "could Blue end up being great? He absolutely could." Advertisement So on one hand you blast the Cowboys for not addressing the running back position, then turn around and admit they could've drafted a "great" running back in the fifth round. The Cowboys dominated the Commanders while winning 12 games and making three consecutive playoff appearances. Quinn and Jayden Daniels changed that in one season. Going out of your way to pick on Dallas at this point is just a bad look.
