Watch: Mimi Rhodes banks in an ace off another golf ball at Women's British Open

Yahoo2 days ago
On Friday, Steph Kyriacou made her first ace on the LPGA at the AIG Women's British Open at Royal Porthcawl on the eighth hole. On Sunday, the Aussie was credited with a rare ace assist.
After Kyriacou came within an inch of her second ace of the week on the par-3 fifth, Mimi Rhodes' hit hit a similar shot from 184 yards that ricocheted off Kyriacou's ball and into the cup.
The ace moved England's Rhodes, a three-time winner on the LET this season, into the top 10 at 4 under. Kryiacou is even for the championship. She opened with a triple-bogey 7 after hitting her second shot out of bounds.

'Here we go': Man United miss out on sensational talent to European giants

Manchester United have missed out on one of their midfield targets, as they continue to prioritise attacking reinforcements. United are determined to hand Ruben Amorim a new striker to complete his revamped attack. Accordingly, the club's hierarchy have tabled a bid worth €85 million for RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko. However, they face competition from Newcastle United, who have submitted a higher offer for the Slovenian. The two clubs are now waiting for Sesko to make a final decision on his future. The arrival of the Leipzig star should greatly improve United's frontline. However, United also intend to address their midfield. After United secured the services of Bryan Mbeumo, it was reported that the Red Devils want to sign a defensive minded midfielder for Amorim. AC Milan leave Man United behind in the race for Jashari Early in the summer, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United held talks with the representatives of Club Brugge talent Ardon Jashari. The 23-year-old midfielder has drawn comparisons to Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets, owing to his technical prowess. However, AC Milan have now struck a deal with the Belgian outfit for the United target. According to Fabrizio Romano, Brugge have accepted Milan's latest bid believed to be in the region of €39 million. Jashari is now set to undergo medical tests, having already agreed to move to San Siro. Man United to make offer for Sara United, meanwhile, have set their sights on Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara, according to reports in Turkey. Sara, who left Norwich City in 2024, has proven to be a great asset for Gala in the middle of the park. Still, he could swiftly return to England amid interest from the Premier League giants. It is understood that United are considering making a bid for Sara 'in the coming days.' For the time being, it seems they are focused on Sesko. Injured Manchester United starter still hoping to feature vs Arsenal

Andre Onana is still hoping to be fit to face Arsenal in Manchester United's first game of the new Premier League campaign, as he works to recover from injury. Photo by PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images The Manchester Evening News report in their print edition on Tuesday, August 5th that Andre Onana hopes to be available for Manchester United's opening Premier League fixture against Arsenal. Onana has been out of action since the first week of pre-season training with a hamstring injury, and he's already missed all but one of their friendly matches. Yet he's optimistic he'll be ready in time for the Arsenal clash. 'I feel good, I feel great,' Onana said on Sunday. 'It's been a few difficult weeks but, yes, hopefully, I will be back for the start of the season. 'I'm enjoying the training with my guys and we are looking forward.' Photo by PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images A return for Onana against Arsenal would be a boost for United, given the initial timeline suggested he wouldn't be back until August 23rd at the very earliest. Even that would be a week too late to play against Mikel Arteta's side. Lisandro Martinez will be out of the match with his ACL injury, but Joshua Zirkzee is also expected to return in time for the Arsenal game. Noussair Mazraoui is being assessed for a hamstring injury, so he may or may not be available depending on the outcome of that assessment. Photo via As it stands, Arsenal are only expected to be without Gabriel Jesus for the trip to Old Trafford, though it remains unclear how serious Leandro Trossard's injury scare will turn out to be.
