MEPMA resource persons told to make P4 success
During the meeting, MEPMA resource persons (RPs) met principal secretary S Suresh Kumar and mission director of MEPMA N Tej Bharath and expressed their gratitude to the government for revoking the previous administration's order, which had imposed fixed three-year service tenure. This decision, they stated, has significantly enhanced their job security and boosted their morale. The RPs reaffirmed their commitment to contributing to the economic empowerment of women through Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Later, the principal secretary, who also chairs the executive committee, addressing the resource persons said that the core objective of the P4 scheme is to economically uplift the poorest 20 per cent of families in Andhra Pradesh. He urged all RPs and MEPMA staff to actively work towards achieving this crucial goal.
A review was also conducted on the utilisation of the 'Mahila Kasham' mobile app, provided on tablets to RPs to streamline their field operations. The principal secretary further recommended optimal utilisation of the MLCC module available on the MEPMA website. He explained that this module would expedite the loan sanction process by enabling banks and MEPMA staff to complete the process online, which would also help prevent fraudulent or duplicate loan applications. The executive committee also discussed key aspects of the human resource policy within the MEPMA department and made several important decisions.

Naidu cautioned them that there will be struggles in the beginning, and they should overcome them with better coordination. "Stay focused on your goals. Everyone should be a lifelong learner and think innovatively. Do not perform duties as just a job," he said, explaining how he worked when he became chief minister for the first time in 1995. "Everyone should say that the chief minister has sent good people to their constituency. Earn a good name for yourself and bring a good name to me." Collector asks officials not to include ineligible families in P4 programme
Be careful in selection of families under Public-Private People Partnership (P4) programme since it would defeat the ideals of the government, District Collector of Vizianagaram B.R Ambedkar directed officials. He said that the families under below poverty line should be selected to ensure their adoption by mentors who came forward to be part of the P4 programme. His words assumed significance as the officials selected nearly 62,500 families but the number had come down to 37,500 after filtration. It was observed that many government officials and staff worked casually and selected the families randomly instead of doing proper assessment about their socio-economic condition. The District Collector intervened and made many changes in the list by collecting the data from other sources. 'Right now, we have identified 37,500 golden families and our target is 50,000 families by August 15. We are hopeful that the target can be reached. Fortunately, the response from mentors is also good. The entire process of selection of mentors is being done in a transparent way. We asked officials not to force anyone to be mentor since it is to be done voluntarily after understanding the concept of P4 designed to eradicate poverty completely in the State,' said Mr. Ambedkar.
