New York City's Summer Streets program returns this weekend, starting in Queens and Staten Island.
Several blocks will be shut down to vehicle traffic on Saturday for people to enjoy car-free time outside.
Visitors can expect live entertainment, fitness and art activities for the whole family. Lyft is also offering free Citi Bike day passes with the promo code: LYFTSUMMER25.
The city's Summer Streets program has been around since 2008 and it continues to expand. This year, the Manhattan location will stretch the entire length of the borough, from Inwood to the Brooklyn Bridge.
The first weekend kicks off this Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers say it's rain or shine.
Manhattan is up next on August 2, 9 and 16, followed by Brooklyn and the Bronx on August 23.
The Summer Streets are in addition to what the city calls "Open Streets" throughout the year.
Vernon Boulevard will be closed from 44th Drive in Long Island City to 30th Road in Astoria.
This location will feature performances from several cultural organizations, as well as yoga and Zumba classes. There will also be a "NYRR Start Line Series," where people can run or walk a 2.5-mile course, and public art will be on display.
The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic:
The Staten Island location is along Forest Avenue in West Brighton. The roadway will be closed from Elizabeth Street to Bard Avenue.

Fox & Friends host calls for more Americans to spank their kids as panel talks gentle parenting tips

Fox & Friends host Lawrence Jones called on parents to 'spank your kid's a**' instead of being letting children go 'crazy' during a news segment on gentle parenting. On Wednesday, hosts Jones, Brian Kilmeade and Ainsley Earhardt played several TikTok clips showing parents who follow 'gentle parenting,' a trendy parenting style that focuses on respect, empathy, boundaries and understanding. One of the videos showed a mother calmly asking, 'Please don't hit me,' and 'gentle,' as her small child repeatedly smacked her in the face, while another showed an upset child being pulled into a hug by their mother. 'Am I allowed to comment on that?' Jones asks. 'Some of you need to spank your kid's a**. It's a problem.' 'Mama Jones didn't play it. My father didn't play it. And I just see all these kids going crazy in the grocery store, on the plane. And if the parents just would put them over their leg and just [spank], it would be over,' Jones said, smacking his hands together to mimic spanking a child. Earhardt was quick to respond: 'The problem is, it will be over for you as a parent if you do that in New York City. They would take our children.' 'You would have to do it in your house,' she added. Fox then cut to an interview with Dr. Leonard Sachs, a family physician, psychologist and author of The Collapse of Parenting. 'I think most gurus of gentle parenting would agree that it means that good parenting means letting kids decide. Well, that's a really bad idea, because parenting works when parents are in charge. And if you let kids decide, a lot of bad things happen,' Sachs said. Sachs used dinner time as an example, saying if parents were to let kids decide, most would choose 'pizza, french fries and ice cream.' 'And you're going to end up with a lot of fat kids,' Sachs said. 'In order for kids to be healthy and happy, parents need to be in charge.' Fox & Friends hosts then pointed out that there is a new parenting trend, 'FAFO' or 'eff around and find out,' there to replace gentle parenting. 'I love it,' Jones said. 'I'm gonna get a T-shirt that says that.' Solve the daily Crossword

Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas seemingly confirm romance after months of speculation

Things are heating up between Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas. On July 26, the "Mission: Impossible" star, 63, and the Golden Globe-nominated actress, 37, were seen holding hands while on a casual stroll in Vernont. After months of dating speculation, the outing seems to confirm the pair's budding romance. Representatives for Cruise and de Armas did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. The rumored couple were first seen together in London in February and have been spotted together several times since, including on her birthday in April and at David Beckham's birthday party in May. In a photo and video captured by a bystander and shared on X of the April birthday stroll, Cruise walked next to de Armas with his hands behind his back. The pair were accompanied by another woman as well as security guards. In May, Cruise praised de Armas' acting abilities. At the New York City premiere of "Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning," Cruise told Access Hollywood, "Her ability is incredible. There's an actress that has dramatic chops, someone who's comedic, very, very talented. You see her in 'Ballerina' ... just a great actress." Weeks later, at the June 3 premiere of "Ballerina," de Armas told Variety that Cruise has been "unbelievable" and "really amazing" when it comes to supporting her endeavors. "But you know what, he supports every movie. He really wants the industry and cinema to go well and people going to the theaters," de Armas said. "We're working together, so he got to see 'Ballerina' and he actually really liked it." She added, "It is very special that someone like him is supporting ['Ballerina']. It is really special in general to have other actors and people supporting each other. We can do well all together." On July 18, a source told People that the actors share a "special work relationship" as they prepare to film a movie together. "Tom is crazy hardworking, and she's very excited to work with him. She calls it an opportunity of a lifetime," the insider said. "Tom is an incredible mentor to Ana. She has nothing but amazing things to say about him."

OMG Girlz Announce First Tour ‘the Name Stays' Following Tiny, T.I.'s Legal Battle With Doll Company

OMG Girlz is officially back. Rolling Stone can exclusively reveal that the girl group — central to T.I. and Tiny's complicated court win last year — is reuniting for a brief, first-ever headlining tour. The tour has a tongue-in-cheek reference to the yearslong legal battle: The Name Stays Tour. 'The OMG Girlz never stopped being 'OMG.' We have always been sisters and have relished every opportunity to work together,' the group tells Rolling Stone. 'We shifted gears for a bit to focus on our personal lives—including motherhood and exploring our creativity as individual artists, but we always planned on making music together again.' More from Rolling Stone Seventeen Will Bring 'New_' Tour to U.S. Amid Four Members' Military Service Sam Smith Feels Light as a Feather on New Single 'To Be Free' Kaytranada and Justice Will Embark on Co-Headlining North America Tour Zonnique 'Star' Pullins, Bahja 'Beauty' Rodriguez, and Breaunna 'Babydoll' Womack will kick off their four-night run on Aug. 30 with a show in Atlanta, before stopping in New York City, D.C, and Dallas. Tickets are on sale now. The tour marks their live comeback after dropping a pair of singles, 'Make a Scene' in March and 'Tea' last week. The group says that the fight for their brand and intellectual property in court allowed the group time to 're-record some of our old music' and record new songs as well. 'We are so grateful to Tip and Tiny for helping us keep this dream alive, and for all of the love and resources they have and continue to pour into our creative endeavors,' the trio says of the Harrises. (Star is the daughter of Tiny.) 'We are excited to paint ATL, Dallas, NYC, and DC pink, purple, and blue!' Last September, T.I. and Tiny were originally awarded $71.4 million in damages from MGA Entertainment, the toy company behind L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. dolls. The couple had filed a first lawsuit in 2021, alleging that MGA copied the image and likeness of the OMG Girlz — the pop-R&B group they formed in 2009 and disbanded in 2015 — for a handful of dolls launched in 2019. MGA challenged the outcome of the lawsuit this year, calling the punitive damages given 'constitutionally excessive.' A judge slashed the $53.6 million punitive award down to $1 while leaving the $17.9 million award for compensatory damages in place. The judge claimed that evidence at trial failed to show MGA designers 'willfully' copied the OMG Girlz. Earlier this month, the Harrises filed paperwork looking for a fourth trial to recover the slashed award. While the Name Stays Tour is OMG Girlz's first headlining run ever, the group reunited in 2023 and joined Xscape and SWV's Queens of R&B Tour last year.
