The call came as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between Egypt and the United States regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and the broader Middle East region. The two sides discussed the joint efforts undertaken by Egypt, the United States, and Qatar to reach a deal that ensures a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and a number of detainees, and full access for humanitarian aid.
