Jun 01, 2025
Dubai has announced plans to develop Jebel Ali Beach, which will become the city's longest public beach at 6.6 kilometres. The project is part of a broader strategy by Dubai's government to extend the total length of public beaches to 105 kilometres by 2040, enhancing both public access and ecological preservation.
Situated along the Arabian Gulf coastline, the new beach will span an area of 330 hectares and will include extensive facilities such as pedestrian walkways, cycling tracks, rest areas, and a range of food and beverage outlets. The beach will also feature environmentally sensitive zones including a turtle conservation area and protected mangrove habitats.
The Dubai Municipality and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) are working jointly on the project, which aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. The beach will be developed in two key zones: a 1.6 km area designated for eco-tourism and environmental preservation, and a 5 km area focused on public recreation, complete with sports fields and family amenities.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated a major infrastructure project focused on improving connectivity between Jumeirah Street and Al Khail Road. Valued at AED 322 million, the development includes the construction of tunnels and bridges along Umm Suqeim Street, specifically from the Jumeirah Street intersection to Al Khail Road. This project is a key part of the broader Umm Suqeim-Al Qudra corridor master plan aimed at streamlining traffic flow and reducing congestion in the Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim districts. Meanwhile, Route E102 will be altered to run directly from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Zayed International Airport, skipping the Ibn Battuta and Musaffah stops. The RTA encourages all commuters to download the S'hail app for the latest updates and schedules throughout the Eid holiday, ensuring smooth and hassle-free travel during the festive season.
