TXT to roll out 3rd LP in Japan
The band will drop the LP 'Starkissed' and host a showcase to introduce the album on Oct. 22, about two years after its previous LP in Japan, 'Sweet', and more than a year since its fourth physical single in Japan, 'Chikai.'
The forthcoming set will consist of 12 tracks, including three new songs. It will also have Japanese-language versions of 'Beautiful Strangers' and 'Song of the Stars,' the lead single and B-side track from TXT's fourth LP in Korea, 'The Star Chapter: Together.'
The fourth LP debuted atop Oricon's Daily, Weekly and Weekly Combined Album Rankings and returned to the No. 1 spot on the weekly charts after three weeks. The album has stayed on the Billboard 200 for three weeks after hitting the chart at No. 3.

Dystopian novel 'All About 247,' immigration-themed 'This Is Your Country' selected for English translation
The Daesan Foundation announced Tuesday that it has selected 15 projects in seven languages for this year's grants for the translation, research and publication of Korean literary works, with 200 million won in funding. Launched in 2010, the initiative aims to introduce Korean literature to global audiences by supporting translations and international publication. This year's selection includes four English-language projects, one in French, two in German, two in Spanish, two in Japanese, three in Chinese and one in Italian. By genre, the selection comprises two poetry collections, 12 novels and one academic study. Judges prioritized translators' abilities above all, but also considered the literary value of the works and their potential in overseas markets, the foundation said. The works chosen for English translation include "The Fantasy Shop by Future Mart," a poetry collection by Kang Eun-gyo that won last year's Daesan Literary Award, and "Worrying About Rabbits on a Winter Night," a poetry collection by Yoo Hee-kyoung. Other English projects are the novel "All About 247," a dystopian work by Kim Hee-sun that explores a post-pandemic society shaped by the aftermath of COVID-19. The book will also be translated into German and Spanish. Another is "This Is Your Country" by Lee U, set in an immigration detention center. It will be translated by Paige Morris, who co-translated Han Kang's "We Do Not Part."

Lee to discuss future of K-pop with 'Kpop Demon Hunters' director, TWICE on TV talk show
President Lee Jae Myung will discuss the future of the K-pop industry with the director of the Netflix animated film "Kpop Demon Hunters" and members of girl group TWICE on a television program, the presidential office said Tuesday. Lee will appear on the pre-recorded program "K-Pop: The Next Chapter" by English-language broadcaster Arirang TV, scheduled to air at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Participants include Maggie Kang, creator of the Netflix film, TWICE members Jihyo and Jeongyeon, DJ and music producer and music critic Kim Young-dae. "It was arranged to reflect the global status of K-pop, the scalability of global content and its new possibilities, and share visions and ideas for K-pop's next stage," the office said in a release. "We plan to draw on the opinions and insights expressed during the program to help shape future policy directions." The global success of "Kpop Demon Hunters," produced by Sony Pictures Animation and distributed by Netflix, has raised calls for broader support for Korean companies in developing original content and intellectual property right in the culture industry.
