Meghan Markle admits hilarious reason why she 'almost didn't marry' Prince Harry in Netflix trailer

Daily Record18 hours ago
Meghan Markle has released the trailer for her upcoming second season of Netflix show With Love, Meghan and it seems there are plenty of royal confessions coming in the new show.
Meghan Markle fans are delighted to have finally received a trailer for the second season of the duchess' Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. The 44-year-old's lifestyle and cooking series has shown a new side to the former Suits star as she has proven herself to be very talented in the kitchen.

In the upcoming series, it looks as if we're going to get more of an inside look into the royal household as the trailer features Meghan revealing a little-known fact. Towards the end of the trailer, when the Duchess of Sussex is preparing lobster with chef José Andrés, she explains that husband Prince Harry is not a fan of the fancy crustacean, which is typically a pricey meal.

She turns to the foodie expert and says "You know who doesn't like lobster? My husband." The chef is left stunned by her admission as he asks: 'And you married him?', leaving Meghan in fits of laughter in response.

It's previously been reported that Royal Family members tend to avoid eating seafood, which may have influenced Prince Harry's dislike for lobster.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold told the Daily Express in 2022: "When dining, the Royal Family has to be careful with shellfish due to shellfish poisoning due to their work schedules.
"Therefore, you will not normally find this on the royal menu."
The mum-of-two, who currently resides in Montecito with Harry and kids Archie and Lilibet, is set to welcome more celebrity pals into her kitchen in the second season of her Netflix show.

Some of the famous faces who are expected to be getting their hands dirty alongside the duchess include Chrissy Teigen, Queer Eye star Tan France and author and podcaster, Jay Shetty, Cosmopolitan reports.
With Love, Meghan is set to return for its second season on the streaming platform on August 26.
Meghan announced the news on Instagram to her 4M Instagram followers on Wednesday evening as she dropped the new trailer and wrote: "The best moments are made to be shared. With Love, Meghan returns August 26th on Netflix."

The show is just one programme amidst Harry and Meghan's lucrative deal with Netflix, which started in 2020.
The Sussexes are also said to be gearing up to produce an on-screen adaptation of the best-selling novel Meet Me at the Lake by Carly Fortune.
However, this has been known for quite some time and there is still no release date in sight.

Harry and Meghan have also previously broadcasted their tell-all documentary Harry and Meghan, as well as their show Polo.

Fury as influencer reviews meal from homeless shelter and brags: 'I didn't have to pay for it'

A food influencer has caused fury after reviewing a meal served at a homeless shelter and bragging she 'didn't even have to pay for it'. Tracy Cahill, from Glasgow, has amassed a large TikTok following by rating meals and restaurants across the city before declaring whether they're '10/10 banging' or '10/10 stinking'. However, a recent clip did not go down well with Tracy's 45,000 followers after she filmed herself critiquing the food that was served at a local soup kitchen. In the since-deleted video, Tracy was reportedly seen 'laughing and sniggering' while holding up a container of food as she bragged 'I didn't even have to f***ing pay for it'. According to the Daily Record, the blogger declared the 'scran' was '10/10 banging' in the contentious video that sparked fierce criticism from the Homeless Project Scotland that runs programmes to feed those most in need. A spokesperson for the charity said Tracy's TikTok was 'deeply disappointing' and 'undermined' their work, adding: 'Homelessness is not a trend.' Fellow TikTokers, meanwhile, questioned how Tracy could 'take a meal from someone in need' and 'folk with nothing' - before the foodfluencer responded to the backlash in a rebuttal video. Reacting to the food review, one social media user noted: 'She has walked into a soup kitchen and thought she was funny taking food from people who haven't had a hot meal in days. 'I don't know how you can take a meal from someone in need.' Another said: 'You have gone into a space for vulnerable people that is supposed to be safe. This is food being given to folk with nothing and you are treating like content.' Addressing the outrage, Tracy took to Tiktok to clarify that she had, in fact, donated money to the homeless shelter 'because I am a TikToker and people know me' - despite earlier insinuating that she ate for free. She also told her followers that she was accompanied by her sister, who stays in a 'homeless centre', and explained that she began making content to earn a 'wee bit of money' having experienced similar hardships in her own life. Tracy began: 'I went with my sister who is homeless and stays in a homeless centre. I sat with her and had food but I donated money because I am a TikToker and people know me. She suggested the only reason people were criticising her is because 'I'm a big TikToker', adding there are many other influencers that 'video homeless people' without concern for their wellbeing. 'Take some time out of your lives from criticising people,' Tracy continued. 'All because I'm a big TikToker you are criticising me. 'I have had to do a lot of homeless stuff. That's why I started TikTok - to make a wee bit of money and make a better life for me. So, me sitting and having some food with the homeless in a shelter is not disgusting and I'm not mocking them.' Her response video was posted after Homeless Project Scotland said homeless shelters are not meant to be 'used as backdrops for online content or personal publicity' in a scathing response to the food review. 'We find it deeply disappointing when anyone treats the reality of homelessness as entertainment,' the spokesperson added. 'We find it deeply disappointing when anyone treats the reality of homelessness as entertainment.' They reiterated that homelessness 'is not a trend' but rather a 'serious crisis' that must be addressed with compassion. The Daily Mail has reached out to Tracy for comment. Many social media users felt Tracy's response missed the mark, as one person commented: 'Point is the food you had could have been given to an actual homeless person.' Another said: 'Point is the food you had could have been given to an actual homeless person.' A third comment read: 'It was in poor taste. And fyi I do volunteer at a soup kitchen and I do talk to everyone there, they are amazing people.' A fourth added: 'It's nothing to do with the fact that you were with homeless people Tracy. It's about the fact you done a food review! If you've not done anything wrong where is the review you posted?

How Princess Anne earned her nickname as ‘hardest working royal'

As Princess Anne marks her 75th birthday today, she continues to live up to her nickname of 'hardest working royal'. Much has changed for the Royal Family in the three years since the death of Queen Elizabeth II and accession of Charles III, but the Princess Royal shows no signs of winding down. Renowned for her work ethic, having carried out 474 engagements last year, Princess Anne has often let some more of her personality shine through in her work compared to her more stoic and tight-lipped mother. The 16th in line to the throne excels as a brilliant networker unafraid to make her feelings public: in 2019, she trended worldwide on Twitter after she appeared to bicker with the Queen over greeting then-President, Donald Trump. However, Princess Anne also enjoyed a close-knit relationship and an easy rapport with the late monarch, with the two regularly attending engagements together. Describing Elizabeth II as 'caring' throughout her childhood, in her tribute, Anne added that while she was the head of state, she was also her mother. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'She gave a lifetime [of service], literally 24/7, 365 days a year,' she said. 'She was always the Queen because that was really important for all of us, but she was always my mother so that is how you would remember her.' With Princess Anne boasting a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, a stint in the Olympics and even batting off a kidnapping attempt, we look back at how this rock solid royal has led an incredible life of service to her family and how she will assist the new King in his role. Her official title is Anne, Princess Royal. Princess Royal is a title usually given by a monarch to their eldest daughter – Anne also happened to be the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The title remains unchanged even if the holder outlives the monarch who gave them the title, as was the case with Anne. The Princess Royal's first engagement was the opening of an educational and training centre in Shropshire in 1969, when she was aged 18. Currently, she is involved with more than 300 charities, organisations and military regiments based in the UK and abroad. One of her most notable roles has been President of Save the Children UK, a role she has held for 55 years. She is also President of the British Olympic Association, following from her interesting history with the Games. More on that later. Yes, Princess Anne was a competitor in the 1976 Summer Olympics which took place in Montreal, Canada. She took part in the equestrian three-day event, riding the Queen's horse Goodwill. Though she did not win a medal, her daughter Zara Phillips won silver as a member of the British team in the same event at the 2012 London Olympics. As President of the British Olympic Association, the Princess Royal presented her with her medal. In 1990, President Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia nominated Princess Anne for the Nobel Peace Prize. This was a direct result of her work with Save the Children UK. The Princess Royal has travelled the world in support of the charity, visiting countries including Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone. That year, the Nobel Prize was awarded to Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev for his role in bringing down the Iron Curtain towards the end of the Cold War. In addition to her titles as President and patron of many charities and other good causes, Princess Anne holds a number of other decorations and honours. More Trending She is an Admiral in the Royal Navy, a General in the British Army, and an Air Chief Marshal in the Royal Air Force. Princess Anne is also a Recipient of the Royal Family Order of Charles III, a Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, an Extra Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle and a Personal Aide-de-Camp to the Sovereign. YouTuber leaves blind date red-faced after making two awkward gaffes in seconds

The content creator might be familiar to some, as he's close friends with fellow YouTubing vloggers Zoella and Alfie Deyes. With 669,000 subscribers to his YouTube account and another half a million on Instagram, Mark is on tonight's episode of First Dates hoping to find love, after a history of heartbreak and no official boyfriend (for now at least!). In a first look clip exclusively shared with the Metro, Mark, 34, sat down for his first date and asked his maybe-Mr-Right Chris, a 42-year-old globe-trotting cruise brand manager, whether he had ever been on a date before. In the first of a series of blunders, Mark realised his mistake (Chris is in his forties and so has almost certainly been on a date…) and quickly clarified he means *first* date, not just a regular date. Chris explained he probably hadn't been on a blind date since he was at university. Undeterred, Mark ploughed on, telling Chris: 'For so long, I tried to be someone for someone else. So now I'm 100% myself. I go in balls deep, guns blazing.' As Mark blushed, realising the unintentional innuendo in his comment, he added: 'Take the first thing I just said out. I go in guns blazing.' We will have to tune in to Channel 4 tonight to see where, if anywhere, the date could go next for Mark. Presided over by maître d' and host Fred Sirieix in the London restaurant, Mark told the cameras he's very much a romantic on the hunt for true love.
