Kidz Bop ready to inspire a nation as they promise 'party to remember' ahead of UK tour

Daily Mirror19-07-2025
KIDZ BOP are readying themselves for another UK adventure and the stars of the show have revealed the pride they feel in inspiring a new generation through song and dance
When it comes to inspiring a young generation, not many groups have the same skillset as KIDZ BOP. Being a star is the dream for so many youngsters and for the current crop of KIDZ BOP members, that has became their reality - and they are very keen to pay that back.

Famous faces such as Euphoria's Zendaya and Noah Munck from hit sitcom The Goldbergs have come through the ranks with the energetic band in previous years. And now there is a new generation on stage and they are ready to amaze the UK audiences once again in October.

With over 23 million albums sold worldwide and over 14 billion streams of their kidified versions of the most popular tunes, it's safe to say their audience loves them - and it appears the feeling is mutual. Current bangers include Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club and Ed Sheeran 's Azizam, but the group insist there are so many to watch out for.

A number of the class of '25 spoke exclusively to The Mirror ahead of their upcoming UK tour, opening up on what fans can expect, what most surprised them about joining the band, and just how it feels to be such an inspiration.
With most of the stars of the show sticking with the group for up to three years between the ages of 12-16, current singer Matty, 15, confessed it "does not seem real still" to be part of the number one kids brand. He admitted he loves the fact he and his band members are able to inspire others to reach their dreams while fulfilling his own desires.

Sadie Mae, 14, agreed, saying: "It's a literal dream come true. I have always loved watching KIDZ BOP growing up and I can't believe I am now part of this amazing group. There's nothing better than traveling to so many places, being on incredible sets, working with the nicest team and getting to do what I love - which is singing and dancing."
And she admitted she was "very surprised" with how quickly the group pulls a performance together. With Matty saying the amount of production involved took him back at first, Sadie Mae said: "It's so impressive to me how we can all come together and get so much done, between wardrobe, rehearsals, different set changes and more! It's just really exciting to be a part of!"

Following on from their recent sell-out gigs in the UK, the group is heading back to Blighty for a bigger tour. And Annika, 12, has promised "a night to remember full of fun," while Matty hinted it will be like a party the audience has "never been to before", adding he expects the fans to bring that huge energy once again.
Teasing their favourite moment from being on tour, Jack, 12, said concert goers have to watch out for the "Daddy Dance off," while Sadie Mae labelled it all "one big giant party".
With the group inspiring children across the globe, they are keen to focus on inclusion and representation, too. Among those sharing pride in what the group stands for is Sadie Mae. "I was born very prematurely and have an invisible disability called Hypotonia," she candidly told us.

"Hypotonia is a lifelong condition which affects the muscle tone and strength in my body. I have heard many times in my life that the things I am doing now like dancing, singing and acting, wouldn't be the things I would be successful at.
"I tried my very best to never listen to those words and decided to always believe in myself, my dreams and my goals. Sure, some things may be harder for me, but I will always find a way to live the life I want to live and do the things I love to do! It means so much to me to be singing and dancing with KIDZ BOP."
She added: "I hope it inspires other kids to never give up on themselves or their dreams and to never let others tell you what you can or cannot achieve. I love that KIDZ BOP focuses on inclusion and representation and I'm so very proud to be a part of this group!"

And in a similar way, Savvy, 14, also revealed how "incredible" it feels to connect with the younger generation through ASL. "I sign and dance to KIDZ BOP songs," she said. " We also have a separate series called 'Sign + Dance Alongs' where I sign and dance with another KIDZ BOP Kid and you guys can follow along! It's all about spreading joy and showing that everyone can love music."
All members admitted they love seeing fans while on the road and are looking forward to entertaining the UK crowds once again. The tour will feature classic tunes as well as several of their newest numbers from the newly released KIDZ BOP 51.
The latest album was released on July 18 and featuring the biggest hits like APT, Pink Pony Club and more, performed by kids for kids. Fans can also go to the KIDZ BOP website for tickets for their tour.

'Ghost lashes' are the latest makeup trend - but Gen Z think it's a recession indicator

TikTok's latest lash trend has been leaving users divided, with some championing the clean girl look, while others think the lowkey style is linked to an economic downturn They might sound scary, but 'ghost lashes' are an emerging beauty trend – and no it doesn't involve painting them white. Instead, the trend refers to opting for a much softer mascara (or even no-mascara look). Now, some on social media are arguing that it's another recession indicator. ‌ If you've been scrolling through social media over the past few months, you'll probably have seen several prominent celebrities like Dua Lipa, Hailey Bieber and Addison Rae sporting very pared-back eye looks. It's also gained traction on TikTok, with the trend gaining millions of views over the past month. ‌ But while many online have been celebrating the more lowkey look, with some even joking it's 'a win for the lazy girl community', others think it's more closely linked to a recession. 'Ghost lashes really are grasping,' one TikTok user said. Another wrote in a caption: 'It's a trend to cover up how less people can afford to spend more money on themselves have to resort to strategic expenditure.' ‌ READ MORE: 'I switched my perfume to a cheaper alternative - and I've never had so many compliments' However, Saffron Hughes, professional makeup artist at believes it's closely linked to an increased emphasis on skincare and hair health – which has resulted in simpler makeup looks. She says: 'There's a growing awareness around lash care. Clients are asking how to strengthen their natural lashes or give them a break from daily mascara. Ghost lashes meet that need. They work with your natural lashes rather than against them.' ‌ Additionally, the look also wears better in the UK's recent spate of hot weather. 'In heat, mascara can smudge or feel sticky,' she adds. 'Ghost lashes are breathable. They're ideal for beach days, city heat, or just a more laid-back vibe.' How Saffron recommends first starting off with a completely clean base. She says: 'Any leftover product or oil will stop them from curling properly. Micellar water is ideal as it cleans without irritating the eyes.' ‌ Equally, since the look relies on healthy well-conditioned lashes, Saffron suggests using a serum to help, which can add 'strength, shine and flexibility.' She adds: 'I tell clients to use it every night for at least four weeks. That consistency makes all the difference.' The next step is to go in with your lash curler. Saffron says to aim for a 'soft lift' rather than a more dramatic bend. She explains: "Start at the base and pulse gently upwards. Heated curlers give a smoother result, but even a classic curler will work if you're careful.' While some people are skipping lash-defining tool entirely, Saffron adds that you can still add a little definition by opting for a clear or brown formula. She says: 'Apply from the roots to the middle of the lashes only. It stops the tips from looking too thick.' Of course, the rest of your eye makeup is important, too. Saffron suggests staying clear of bold eyeshadow or eyeliner, which 'will distract from the softness of ghost lashes'. If you still want to add something a little extra, she recommends tapping a small amount of cream highlighter into the inner corners to brighten the eye without overpowering it. ‌ However, if it's all sounding like a bit too much effort for everyday, Saffron says you can also opt for a lash lift and tint which can give you a curl and colour which lasts for weeks. She says: 'I recommend it to clients going on holiday or anyone wanting less maintenance.'

Calls for 90s tattoo necklace to return as Maya Jama and Millie Bobby Brown join trend

People have called for the black choker necklace to make a comeback for the second time after Maya Jama was seen wearing the nostalgic piece in the final episode of Love Island: Aftersun Maya Jama strutted onto Love Island Aftersun channelling her inner Majorcan goddess, in a black netted one-shoulder floor-length gown, her hair tied into a ponytail and her neck graced with a simple necklace. To my surprise, she'd opted for a thin black piece of fabric around her neck. Lo' and behold, the return of the choker necklace. ‌ Chokers have been around for decades and date as far back as the late 19th century. They've re-emerged several times, in the 1920s and 1940s and most notably in the 1990s in line with punk, grunge, and alternative culture. Drew Barrymore, Winona Ryder and Gwen Stefani were among the many celebrities getting involved with the choker trend. ‌ Then in the mid 2010s, the choker made yet another resurgence among young people on social media platforms like Tumblr and Instagram, and now it seems Maya is steamrolling their return again 10 years later. It comes as The Mirror recapped Love Island 2025's shocking moments during second most complained about series. ‌ READ MORE: 'I switched my perfume to a cheaper alternative - and I've never had so many compliments' Maya wasn't the only one sporting the retro look, Millie Bobby Brown blew her Gen Z fans away with the 'new' accessory in a selection of promotional snaps from her most recent shoot with Essentia Watera, opting for a tattoo net black choker necklace, which, if you were a 90s or 2010s teen, you'll be all too familiar with. ‌ Lily Gladstone stayed true to her choker, telling People Magazine that she still wears the same one she bought in middle school. 'The necklace that Chloe wears, the black choker that's kind of stretchy and looks like a neck tattoo,' Gladstone said last year. 'I still have mine from middle school and I definitely rock it whenever I can.' Ariana Grande, Zoe Saldana and Elle Fanning wore diamond encrusted ones at the Oscars earlier this year. But for those on a tight budget, don't fret, it looks like the black plastic, painfully tight, interlaced chokers are making a retro revival. The #chokernecklace tag currently has over 180k videos on TikTok. In one viral video from last year, creator @daniellemarcan wished for the traditional black choker necklace to make a comeback. Another user in the comments confirmed they never stopped wearing theirs and said "Have been wearing the same one since 2018." A third user shared a TikTok video wearing hers, writing the caption: "Petition to bring choker necklaces back!!" Help us improve our content by completing the survey below. Lizzo takes aim at Sydney Sweeney in new song lyrics amid American Eagle 'good jeans' campaign backlash

Lizzo donned Daisy Dukes and name-dropped Sydney Sweeney in the lyrics of her new song, I'm Goin In Till October, which she teased on Wednesday. It marked the 37-year-old rapper-singer-flautist's third parody in a week mocking the 27-year-old Euphoria stunner's controversial American Eagle campaign, which was accused of pushing Nazi-like eugenics as aspirational. 'No kizzy / He ain't got no business being with me,' Lizzo - who boasts 44.6M social media followers - rapped. 'Fat a** pretty face with the ti**ies / Bi***, I got good jeans like I'm Sydney!' The four-time Grammy winner - who rocked a waist-length platinum-blonde wig - twerked up a storm while pretending to wash a retro red car in the raunchy clip similar to Sydney's own 2020 Ford Shelby GT350. Last month, Lizzo - who gets 12.1M monthly listeners on Spotify - revealed she was 'back in the studio' so the new track will most likely appear on her upcoming fifth studio album, Love in Real Life. On Monday, the Crashout rapper posted a different American Eagle rap parody, which began with Fox commentator saying: 'We are over this woke agenda, we are over the Lizzos, we are over the Dylan Mulvaneys. If this was a 300-pound, non-binary person they would be applauding her.' Lizzo (born Melissa Jefferson) first lampooned the $3.3B denim brand last Thursday by reposting a political meme featuring an AI version of herself in a Texas tuxedo captioned: 'My jeans are black…' 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,' Sweeney said in the original commercial. 'My jeans are blue.' The newly-registered Republican has yet to publicly address the 'White supremacy' backlash, but CEO Jay Schottenstein issued a statement last Friday stressing that the spot 'is and always was about the jeans' and noted that 'great jeans look good on everyone.' But everything changed for American Eagle on Sunday when President Donald Trump publicly gushed about Sydney's political leanings and told White House reporters that 'her ad is fantastic.' On Monday, the 79-year-old politician doubled down on his social media platform Truth Social, gushing: 'Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the HOTTEST ad out there. It's for American Eagle, and the jeans are "flying off the shelves." Go get 'em Sydney!' The Pittsburgh-based fashion retailer's stock price, which had dropped dramatically last week, surged over 13% specifically thanks to the Trump bump. American Eagle pledged to donate 100% of the proceeds from 'The Sydney Jean' (featuring a butterfly patch representing domestic violence awareness) to mental health support non-profit, Crisis Text Line. Ironically, Lizzo told PAPER last week: 'I love my natural face. I look at my mother's face and I'm like hell yeah. I feel very blessed to have great genes and I wanna show it. Why cover up what God gave you?' On January 16, the Yitty co-creator announced that she had reached her weight-loss goal, lowered her body mass index (BMI) by 10.5, and lost 16% of her body fat since 2023. Lizzo - whose Halloween costume was Ozempic - repeatedly denied being on the trendy GLP-1 drug until June 19 when she confessed on the Just Trish podcast that she had tried it in the past. The Still Bad singer will next produce and star in a biopic about pioneering electric guitarist Sister Rosetta Tharpe, which will mark her biggest acting gig yet. Lizzo will eventually have to face her former back-up dancers - Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez - at a jury trial in Santa Monica Courthouse due to their sexual, religious, and racial harassment lawsuit.
