The players won two gold medals, a silver medal, and a bronze medal, a source of pride for the clubs in the Central Region and the Mleiha area.

Sharjah Ruler issues Emiri Decree to reorganise SWS

Independent Government Entity with Full Legal Capacity The decree states that the SWS shall enjoy independent legal personality and full legal capacity to carry out all necessary legal actions to fulfill its objectives. It will function as an independent government entity with both financial and administrative autonomy. Leadership and Headquarters Under the decree, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, will chair the SWS. An experienced and qualified advisor in the SWS's field of work will support her. The headquarters will be based in the city of Sharjah, with the possibility of establishing branches in other cities and regions of the Emirate as per the chairperson's decision. Objectives of the SWS The SWS is tasked with the following core objectives: Supporting the sports sector comprehensively and advancing women's sports across the UAE, with a particular focus on Sharjah. Showcasing the achievements of Emirati sportswomen and enabling their participation in leadership roles and global competitions. Establishing a modern, integrated system to develop administrative practices in women's sports according to global best practices. Empowering national talents and developing human capital in the field of women's sports. Nurturing a new generation of female sports leaders in collaboration with relevant federal and international organisations. Promoting sports culture, raising public awareness of its importance, while encouraging female participation in sports, and creating a motivating sports environment. Core Functions To achieve these goals, the SWS is authorised to: Develop policies, programmes, and strategies for advancing women's sports and training sports leaders, while overseeing club plans. Train, refine, and attract talent in all sports fields to support global competitiveness. Create a comprehensive framework for women's sports aligned with local and international trends. Establish a legal framework that keeps pace with developments in women's sports. Appoint ambassadors for women's sports on local, regional, and global levels. Form sustainable partnerships with local, Arab, and international organisations to further its goals. Develop long-term plans and financial policies to fund local and international sports programmes. Expand the number of Olympic sports in which women can participate. Build and upgrade sports facilities dedicated to women's sports. Implement quality systems, ISO standards, and institutional excellence practices in SWS-run facilities. Sign contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding with relevant entities. Apply governance standards to sports clubs and oversee their financial expenditures. Discover and support emerging sports talents. Nominate club players for sports scholarships, subject to internal criteria and leadership approval. Issue sports release permits for registered female athletes employed in the Emirate. Organise sports tournaments, festivals, conferences, and seminars. Invest the SWS's assets in various types of investments. Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the Ruler or the SWS's chairperson. Director's Responsibilities A director, appointed by a decision from the chairperson, will manage the SWS. The director will report directly to the chairperson and hold the following powers: Propose the SWS's general policies and oversee their implementation upon approval. Supervise operations in accordance with current laws and regulations, issuing internal directives and instructions. Approve financial and administrative regulations and internal systems after ratification by the chairperson. Propose the annual budget and final accounts for the chairperson's approval. Supervise expenditures in line with the approved budget and relevant regulations. Form permanent or temporary committees and working groups, and define their mandates. Represent the SWS in local, regional, and international events and meetings. Sign agreements, contracts, and partnerships on behalf of the SWS. Represent the SWS before courts, government bodies, and third parties, with the option to delegate. Carry out any other duties assigned by the chairperson. Oversight of Women's Sports Clubs According to the decree, all women's sports clubs in Sharjah will fall under the jurisdiction of the SWS. Additional Legal Provisions The decree also outlines legal provisions related to the SWS's organisational structure, financial resources, and fiscal year, among other administrative matters.
