Patna: The BJP workers and supporters on Sunday took out a 'Tiranga Yatra' in Rajendra Nagar locality of the state capital to commemorate the success of the Indian Army's 'Operation Sindoor'.
Hundreds of people participated in the event, paying their respect for the nation's brave soldiers.
The yatra was also joined by the BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal and deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, who raised slogans to boost the morale of the young participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Jaiswal said the Tiranga Yatra symbolises the unparalleled valour of the Indian Army and the commitment to protect Mother India's pride.
"The event, filled with enthusiasm, vigour, and patriotism, witnessed tremendous public participation, presenting a unique example of societal unity and integrity," he said.
He further said the Indian Army also inflicted damage on Pakistani military airbases and defence systems. This unprecedented military action not only served as a warning to Pakistan but also showcased India's military prowess on a global scale.
"The bravery with which the Indian Army conducted Operation Sindoor is a matter of pride for the citizens. The entire nation stands firmly with the Army and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve," Jaiswal added.
Jaiswal made it clear that the fight is not over yet. Operation Sindoor has dismantled Pakistan's defence system, and if needed, the citizens are ready to stand at the border.
The event was also attended by Kumhrar MLA Arun Sinha, BJP MLC Anil Sharma, BJP state media co-incharge Amit Prakash Bablu, and a large number of men and women.

'Okay with my daughter abusing...': Sharmishta Panoli's father hits back after influencer gets bail

The father of influencer Sharmishta Panoli, who was granted interim bail by the Calcutta High Court, has spoken out following her arrest over controversial social media comments related to Operation Sindoor. The 22-year-old was arrested by Kolkata Police from Gurugram and accused of hurting religious sentiments with allegedly communal remarks made in a video posted online. Days after she was granted bail, her father, Prithviraj Panoli, shared a post on X, quoting Urdu poet Allama Iqbal's song 'Saare Jahan Se Accha'. Referencing a verse which calls for no religious animosity, Panoli said, "He preached this to the secular Hindustan and then became one of the founding voices for Islamic Pakistan." Defending his daughter, Panoli urged others to follow in her footsteps. After a social media user urged him to discourage his daughter from using "inappropriate or offensive language", he hit back, saying he was "ok" with his daughter abusing 'Pakistani terrorists.' "I am OK with my daughter abusing Pakistani terrorists who killed innocents in the name of religion. She only used some words what many maulanas preach openly. Are you OK for her getting rape threats for that despite apologising? Did you raise your voice against that? If yes, I am with you," he wrote. A 22-year-old law student from Pune, Sharmishta Panoli, found herself at the centre of controversy after she allegedly made remarks about Bollywood celebrities' silence on 'Operation Sindoor.' The video quickly went viral, drawing sharp backlash online, with many accusing her of spreading hate speech. Panoli also received threats in the comments section of her post. Following the uproar, she deleted the video from Instagram and issued a public apology. In her statement, she expressed regret and stated that she never intended to hurt anyone's religious sentiments. She also deleted her previous posts. Panoli's arrest by Kolkata Police triggered a political storm in West Bengal, with the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slamming the move as 'selective enforcement' of the law.

Espionage case: Hisar court extends Jyoti Malhotra's judicial custody

A local court on Monday extended the judicial custody of social media influencer Jyoti Malhotra and fixed her case's hearing on June 23. The 33-year-old YouTuber appeared before the court of Hisar Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Sunil Kumar through video conferencing on Monday which extended her judicial custody by two weeks. "The court has extended her judicial custody and fixed June 23 for the next hearing in this case," her lawyer Kumar Mukesh said. Hisar Police arrested Malhotra on suspicion of espionage on May 16. She was subsequently remanded to five days of police custody by the court. Following the completion of the remand, the court extended it by four more days on the police's plea for further questioning. On May 26, the court remanded her to judicial custody for 14 days. Malhotra, who hails from the city, ran a YouTube channel "Travel with JO". She was arrested at the New Aggarsain Extension and booked under provisions of the Official Secrets Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Hisar Police previously said no evidence had emerged to indicate Malhotra had access to any military- or defence-related information but claimed she was in contact with some people, aware that they were Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIO). Police sources said she was in touch with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a staffer at the Pakistani High Commission, since November 2023. India expelled Danish on May 13 for allegedly indulging in espionage. The police have claimed Pakistani intelligence operatives were developing Malhotra as an asset. Punjab Police recently said Punjab-based YouTuber Jasbir Singh, who was arrested on espionage charges on June 4, was in close contact with Malhotra. Singh, who was found to be associated with a PIO, was in touch with a Pakistan High Commission official who was recently expelled from New Delhi on charges of spying and had met Pakistan Army officials during one of his three visits to the neighbouring country, Punjab Police said previously. After Malhotra's arrest, Singh attempted to erase all traces of his communications with these PIOs to avoid detection, Punjab Police added.
