Driver hits man with car in alleged road rage attack
Police said the alleged attack unfolded on Saturday morning after an incident between the accused, a 69-year-old man, and a 57-year-old man.
The 57-year-old was driving a silver Ford Mustang coupe when he allegedly became involved in a minor crash with the 69-year-old near the intersection of Morrison and Farrell roads in Midvale at 11.15 am.
Police allege the 69-year-old from Boya deliberately drove his silver Hyundai at the victim, pinning him against a third vehicle entering a nearby car park.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics for serious injuries to both his legs before being conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital.
The 69-year-old fled the scene but was later found by police at a nearby fast-food restaurant, where he was taken into custody.
He was charged with unlawful damage, common assault and grievous bodily harm.
The man was granted bail, and he is next due to appear before Midland Magistrates Court on July 25.
Detectives are calling for any witnesses who were in the area at the time who may have dash camera vision of the incident to upload via this link.

Perth man due in court over grandfather's Good Friday mystery death
A man has been charged with murder after a Perth grandfather was found collapsed near bushland in the city's eastern suburbs earlier this year. A member of the public found Elmars Kalejs at about midday on Good Friday this year in a carpark near the Settlers' Common Environmental Centre in Bedfordale. The 53-year-old was found collapsed near the drivers' side door of his silver Holden Commodore, with head injuries and broken ribs. He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital but died two months later. Police confirmed on Saturday they had laid charges over his death. 'Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 48-year-old Cloverdale man with murder in relation to his matter,' a spokesperson said. He is due to appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on Sunday. It was understood Kalejs had been sleeping in his car at the time of the suspected assault, and police set up a mobile policing unit in Bedfordale in late July to try and gather information from the public. They said they were most concerned with the 24-hour period before Kalejs' body was found.

Man charged with murder over death of Elmars Kalejs, who was found unconscious in Perth car park
A 48-year-old man has been charged with murder over the death of a WA father who was found with serious injuries lying next to his car on Good Friday. WARNING: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers are advised that this article contains an image of a person who has died, used with the permission of their family. Elmars Kalejs, 53, was found by a passer-by on April 18, sprawled unconscious next to his silver Holden Commodore sedan in a car park near the Settlers' Common Environmental Centre in Bedfordale in Perth's south-east. He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital and treated for head injuries and broken ribs, but died two months later on June 24. WA police had appealed for information to help them piece together how Mr Kalejs sustained his injuries. At the time, his daughter Courtney Mallard said her family wanted to know what happened to him so they could have closure. She described him as a loving, gentle man who "lived off the land". Today police revealed they had charged the 48-year-old man, of Cloverdale, with murder. He is due to face the Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
