Resident Evil 9 Executive Producer Trolls Everyone And Actually Announces It
Never mind, folks. Capcom and Takeuchi played a fast one on us and released the trailer for Resident Evil 9 just minutes after telling everyone otherwise. The game is out on February 27, 2026, and is coming to PS5, Xbox, and PC.
Well, I guess he did say we'd get more info in 'a blink of an eye.' Here's the trailer:
In the surprise trailer, we see a woman who is working for the FBI and looking into some strange murders. Then some wild stuff happens, and suddenly we are transported to what appears to be the old Raccoon City police station, but it looks post-apocalyptic, almost. Not sure what's going on here, but I'm excited for fans to dig in and find all the details.
And here's how Capcom describes the game from its official website:
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth title in the mainline Resident Evil series.
Prepare to escape death in a heart-stopping experience that will chill you to your core. A new era of survival horror begins in 2026. Technological advancements combined with the development team's depth of experience combine in a story with rich characters and gameplay that's more immersive than ever before.
Original story continues below:
Fans expected a big Resident Evil 9 reveal during the event today as leakers continued to hint that it was going to happen. And yet, it didn't happen. At one point, the actress who voices Lady D in Resident Evil Village appeared, but that was just to promote a Capcom sale on Steam. Then she appeared again, celebrating the birthday of the series and throwing to Takeuchi, who didn't introduce a trailer, but instead asked fans to wait a bit longer.
'Thanks to all of you, Resident Evil is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary this coming March,' said Takeuchi. 'Now, about the latest Resident Evil game you've all been waiting for, bear with us a little longer. Just a blink of an eye more, and it'll be ready.'
Rumors have swirled about a new Resident Evil entry following the release of Resident Evil Village in 2021. Though Capcom did hint at Village officially being the eighth entry via its logo, which contained a stylized VIII, the game didn't technically include an 8 in the title, leading some to believe it was a spin-off of Resident Evil 7. And with today's lack of a name or anything else, we will still have to wait and see if Capcom counts Village as a full-fledged eighth entry in the franchise or if the next game will be named Resident Evil 8. It all seems needlessly confusing, but that's to be expected with this series.

It takes a village to raise a child. Sometimes we need a little extra guidance from the stars to manage motherhood. Momscope is here to help. Aries First you have a big idea, then your little one tries to top you, then you up the ante -- and so it goes. If you put your heads together, you can come up with a super talent show or tea party that will be the talk of the town. Taurus It may seem like there's not enough of you to go around today. The kiddo has no shortage or requests: drive me to practice, do my science project for me and so on. Just do what you can and be glad you're so in demand. Gemini Today, your words have the ability to light a fire under people. Use this ability to inspire your little one to reach for the very heights in everything that they do. They should have as much confidence in their abilities as you do. Cancer You may find that you need to come out of your shell today. Perhaps you'll have to give a presentation at work or present an idea at the tyke's school. Although you may feel over-exposed, all will be well. Leo There's still so much to learn -- for you as well as your kiddo. Why should they be the only one who enjoys finding out as much as they can about the world and what makes it work? Unleash your own inquisitive spirit today. Find out what the cards have in store for you with your 2022 Tarot Reading. Virgo You may find you're taking longer than usual to decide whether to buy a big-sticker item or not. You really should consider all angles, and consult with your partner, too. Take your time with all important decisions today. Libra Reserve some extra time today to spend with your baby. You're so busy with your job and the family that they may feel they're not getting enough attention. An extra story or tour around the park should be all it takes. Scorpio There is a chance that a little cold or flu could be going around. Take preventative measures, just in case, for both you and the little one. Frequent hand washing plus what the doctor suggests. Sagittarius You set the pace today -- and it will be fast and furious. Fun and games seem to break out wherever you go, so it's small wonder most of the neighborhood tykes will want to hang out at your house. Better lay in enough snacks. Capricorn Make a safety check your top priority today. Your child should know what to do should they ever wander off in the woods or down at the mall. But it won't hurt to repeat yourself, because it is a vitally important message. Aquarius Is there a big project going on? Whether at work or at day care, you just naturally seem to step into the role of leader today. You can get the whole gang organized in no time, no matter where you are. Pisces It really is hard to tell fact from fiction sometimes. Hard for you to tell if a coworker is speaking the truth or not. Hard for the tyke to accept that they can't have a dragon as a pet, even though there's plenty of room. What do the planets say about your love life? Netflix Added This Underrated 2004 Action Comedy — and It's the Most Fun I've Had All Summer
This week, Netflix added After the Sunset to its lineup. This action comedy originally hit theaters in 2004, and now it's getting its most prominent streaming release to date. Woody Harrelson and Pierce Brosnan headline the film as a frustrated FBI agent and a world-class jewel thief, respectively. Instead of centering the movie around a drawn-out cat-and-mouse game between the two, Brosnan and Harrelson's characters come together for a tropical heist caper. It's a fun action romp and a favorite here at Watch With Us. The movie's already a hit with Netflix viewers, so if you haven't streamed it yet, here are a few reasons why you should right now. 9 Must-Watch Action Movies on Netflix Right Now (July 2025) Brosnan and Harrelson Are an Unlikely Action Comedy Pairing Director Brett Ratner helped revitalize the buddy action comedy genre with the Rush Hour movies. After the Sunset doesn't follow the exact formula of those films, but it's hard not to see some of the same DNA in Ratner's choices for this movie. Brosnan was cast in this film shortly after his final James Bond movie, and his character, Max Burdett, isn't too far removed from his title character in The Thomas Crown Affair. Max is a great foil for FBI agent Stan Lloyd (Harrelson), who is understandably frustrated after the former outwitted him. That's what makes their unfolding friendship in this movie so rewarding to watch. Max doesn't really change his stripes, but he's generous to his rival, and he genuinely starts to like him. These guys manage to find common ground without losing the qualities that made them unique. Max is always going to be a thief, and Stan is always going to take it on himself to stop him. 10 Must-Watch Rom-Com Movies on Netflix Right Now (June 2025) The Film's Romance Is Fun and Breezy Salma Hayek's Lola Cirillo is Max's partner-in-crime, and she certainly seems to enjoy teasing Stan as well. Hayek and Brosnan are very believable as a power couple, even though their story takes several familiar turns. Lola is ready to leave their life of crime behind, but Max just can't bring himself to let go of the thing that makes him happy in life. These two performers light up the screen together, and the direction of their relationship is never too shocking. Max makes some mistakes and has to win back Lola's heart. The thing that makes that reunion spark is the way Max wins Lola back and what he's willing to give up to do so. What this film lacks in suspense, it makes up for with the chemistry between Brosnan and Hayek. They're just fun to watch together. 'After the Sunset' Has an Enjoyably Fast Pace If you're expecting After the Sunset to be an innovative take on the heist genre, then you're going to be disappointed. It's not a unique film, but that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. Ratner keeps the story moving at such a brisk pace that there's never enough time to really examine any leaps in logic. This is the kind of movie where you just have to let yourself enjoy the ride, and it's over faster than you'd expect. 11 Must-Watch Comedy Movies on Netflix Right Now (July 2025) Don Cheadle has a good turn as the film's only true villain, crime lord Henri Mooré. Before she went on to costar in the Daniel Craig James Bond movies, Naomie Harris appeared in this film as Sophie, a constable who partners up with Stan. Cheadle and Harris carry off their parts well, even though they're overshadowed by the film's core trio. After the Sunset wasn't a huge hit in theaters, but it's not shocking that it landed in Netflix's top 10 movies the moment it debuted on the streamer. It's not a perfect film by any means, and yet it's better than the vast majority of Netflix originals. After the Sunset is streaming on Netflix now. Solve the daily Crossword
