Aaron Donald and Micah Parsons' Instagram exchange creates buzz
On Tuesday, Donald left a comment below an Instagram post that showed Parsons, the Dallas Cowboys' star edge rusher, Photoshopped into a Rams jersey.
"If (Micah Parsons) go to the rams I might have to call (2Tenths Speed & Agility) and get in football shape (crying laughing emojis) [with] that Dline (it) would be unreal (facepalm emoji) (fire emoji)."
Donald tagged Parsons in his comment, and the Cowboys' four-time Pro Bowler left a response.
"[M]an!!! Dont tell me info like that!! @davidmulugheta," Parsons wrote, tagging his agent, David Mulugheta, at the end of his comment.

Parsons is still stuck in contract negotiation limbo with his current team. According to a social media post the edge rusher made Friday to formally request a trade, the Cowboys still have not talked to his agent about getting an extension done.
That had not changed by Tuesday, when Dallas's team owner/general manager, Jerry Jones, told reporters he had spoken to neither Parsons nor his agent since the edge rusher's post on Friday. In the meantime, Parsons has been a "hold-in" at Cowboys training camp – he's present in camp but refusing to practice.
Donald last played in the NFL in 2023. He announced his retirement in a social media post in March 2024, ending a 10-year career spent entirely with the Rams.
Donald won the Defensive Player of the Year award three times in a four-year span between 2017 and 2020, and he was a big part of Los Angeles' Super Bowl 56 win in 2021.
In Donald's final year in 2023, he recorded eight of the team's 41 team sacks.
In 2024, their first full year without Donald since drafting him in 2014, the Rams finished 21st in the NFL with 38 sacks as a team. Rookie Braden Fiske led the team with 8.5 sacks.
Parsons recorded 12 sacks in 2024 despite missing four games with a high ankle sprain.

NFLPA lawyer placed on leave after her allegations led to FBI probe, per report
The latest twist in the drama that has consumed the NFL Players Association features a lawyer who reportedly squared off with former executive director Lloyd Howell and is now facing some charges herself. Heather McPhee, associate general counsel for the NFLPA since 2009, was placed on paid administrative leave Tuesday after multiple employees filed complaints against her with the union's human resources department, according to ESPN's Don Van Natta Jr. and Jeff Passan. McPhee reportedly faces accusations of failing to follow supervisors' directions, bullying colleagues and disrupting the union's work environment. The decision to place her on leave reportedly comes months after her own allegations helped trigger an FBI investigation into the NFLPA, the MLBPA and their OneTeam Partners licensing company. Matt Curtin, the head of the NFLPA's licensing arm and a member of the OneTeam board, is among those who filed complaints against McPhee. There were several other problems facing the NFLPA by the time Howell resigned last month, but the only one that prompted action by federal authorities was the OneTeam matter. In June 2024, the eight-member board of directors, which included Howell, signed a resolution that could have personally entitled them to considerable compensation from the OneTeam partnership. McPhee reportedly wrote multiple memos suggesting the NFLPA could face legal jeopardy if it went through with the bonus plan and urged the union to investigate claims that the board members had allocated equity shares to themselves. The plan ultimately did not go through. Per The Athletic, OneTeam brought in $101 million for the NFLPA alone from early 2024 into 2025. The NFLPA reportedly owns 44% of the licensing firm, with the MLBPA owning 22% and three other union representing the MLS, USWNT and WNBA owning much smaller shares. Outside investors make the remainder of the ownership. ESPN notes that McPhee has not been deemed a whistleblower in the FBI case, leaving her with fewer legal protections against any retaliation. The NFLPA has been operating under new leadership since Howell announced his resignation, with former SAG-AFTRA executive director David White acting as interim head.

Rams' Matthew Stafford set to put back to test in Saturday workout
Matthew Stafford's back injury recovery is going to be put to the test. Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters Thursday that Stafford, who is battling an aggravated disk, will participate in workouts Saturday morning. Steelers' Broderick Jones explains adjustment to left tackle

'It was never about being comfortable,' Jones said at St. Vincent College on Tuesday. 'It's just the repetition and getting used to being back on that side. That's all it really is for me, continuing to get reps on the left side.' Jones is coming off a standout performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first preseason game. Jones did not allow a single pressure in 12 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. He was going up against Pro Bowl edge rusher Josh Hines-Allen, too.
