Here's what Prince George and Princess Charlotte received from the Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner
Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner didn't just leave Centre Court with a trophy on Sunday, he also won over some very special fans in the royal box.
After his impressive four-set victory over Spain's Carlos Alcaraz, the 22-year-old Italian tennis star had the chance to meet the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Though their youngest brother, Prince Louis, wasn't in attendance, Sinner made sure not to leave him out.
So what did he give the young royals? Signed tennis balls: one each for George, Charlotte, and Louis.
The sweet gesture took place backstage following the trophy ceremony. Speaking in his post-match press conference, Sinner admitted, 'In the beginning, I didn't know what to say.' He added, 'I asked the kids if they play tennis and asked them what kind of rackets they play with, these kind of things.'
According to
People
and
The Telegraph
, the Princess of Wales thanked him for his 'kind' gift and offered him her 'huge congratulations' before they parted ways.
As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Kate has been a regular presence in the royal box for both the men's and women's finals at Wimbledon. This year, she was accompanied by Prince William, along with Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, both of whom have developed a visible interest in the sport.

Prince George made his Wimbledon debut in 2022, while Charlotte joined her family courtside for the first time in 2023. Their appearance this year shows a growing tradition, one likely encouraged by their mother's lifelong love of tennis.
Sinner, who became the first Italian to ever win a Wimbledon singles title, said the meeting was deeply meaningful. 'You see how much they care about tennis and the sport itself,' he said.
'It's very prestigious. I've been lucky to meet her and the whole family, and it was a very nice moment.'
Also in attendance was Spain's King Felipe VI, who had flown in to support Carlos Alcaraz. During the trophy presentation, Alcaraz publicly thanked the Spanish monarch for attending.
Though Alcaraz bested Sinner at the French Open just weeks prior, the two have developed a strong on-and-off-court rapport. After the final, both men praised each other in their speeches, with Alcaraz acknowledging Sinner's 'really well-deserved' win.
Their budding rivalry and friendship is quickly becoming one of tennis's most talked-about storylines. But on this day, Sinner's post-match moment with the little royals was just as charming as his performance on court.

Rebounds from penalties could be banned; one-shot rule might be implemented
Football could see one of its oldest rules abolished in time for the next World Cup. According to reports in Times London, proposals have been put forth to The International Football Association Board to disallow taking rebounds from penalty kicks. The suggestion, if ratified, means the penalty-taker or his teammate cannot have a second attempt on goal if the initial shot is saved or it cannons back from some part of the post. Basically, penalties would be one-shot affairs, as during shootouts in knockout games. One of its fiercest advocates has been the legendary Italian referee Pierluigi Collina. 'I believe there is an excessive gap between the opportunities available to the attacker and those of the goalkeeper,' Collina once told Repubblica. The rule has fashioned some of the most iconic moments in the game, like the Xabi Alonso's goal in Liverpool's Miracle of Istanbul, when AC Milan's goal goalkeeper Dida saved the Spaniard's first attempt but latched on to rebound, which completed the Reds' comeback from 3-0 to 3-3. The scoreline remained thus and Liverpool won in the shootout. He details the extra advantage the team gets. 'On average, 75% of penalties are already scored, and often, the penalty kick is a bigger chance than the one taken away by the foul. On top of that, the attacker is also given a chance to play the rebound off the goalkeeper. In my opinion, goalkeepers should be complaining. I've already mentioned this in discussions we've had at IFAB,' he elaborated. He floats one-shot-rule as the solution. 'One solution is the 'one shot' rule. Just like in penalty shootouts after extra time. No rebound. Either you score or play resumes with a goal kick, period. This would also eliminate the spectacle we see before a penalty is taken, with everyone crowding around the area. It looks like horses at the starting gates before the Palio di Siena,' he detailed. If the penalty taker misses, the ball will be assumed dead and the defending team would be awarded a goal-kick. The move, experts reckon, could prevent overcrowding, and thus time wasting, before the kick. But the rule-tweak would not be implemented straightaway. Usually, the proposal is placed during IFAB's annual business meeting in November and are then voted on at the AGM in March. Historically, the IFAB has been conservative and passes a rule after detailing trialling. But in recent times, it has been liberal with radical rule changes.

IND vs ENG: 'Not picking Kuldeep Yadav has hurt India; you can't expect him to score 100 runs'
Kuldeep Yadav (Getty Images) India's premier left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has remained on the bench for the first three matches of the five-Test series in England. As the fourth Test at Old Trafford draws closer, Kuldeep's childhood coach Kapil Dev Pandey feels the time has come for the spinner to get his due. Pandey voiced his belief in Kuldeep's form and readiness, asserting that the spinner can make an impact if given a chance. With India trailing 1-2 in the series — following a loss at Lord's, a thrilling win at Edgbaston, and a defeat at Headingley — pressure is mounting on the visitors to opt for a more balanced bowling attack. Pandey believes Kuldeep could be the missing piece. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'Kuldeep not playing doesn't seem to hold much value in the current context, because Team India has been playing well. In the third Test, many expected him to feature, but the fast bowlers did the job and picked up wickets,' he told IANS. Still, Pandey pointed out that Kuldeep is possibly in the best phase of his career right now. 'Kuldeep Yadav is in top form right now. He was lethal during the ODI World Cup and bowled brilliantly throughout the tournament. Not playing him at the right moments has cost India heavily. In the recent matches, it's the batters who have failed, not the bowlers.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like As AI agents gain autonomy, trust becomes the new currency. Poll Should Kuldeep Yadav be included in the playing XI for the fourth Test? Yes, he deserves a chance No, stick with the current bowlers 'You can't expect someone like Kuldeep or even Bumrah to score 100 runs — that would be unrealistic.' Kuldeep, who made his Test debut in March 2017, has featured in just 13 matches so far despite performing consistently when given opportunities. His coach, however, is confident that the 29-year-old remains focused and prepared. TOI Sports reporter attacked in London: After Lord's Test, reporter faces 'scariest moment of his life' With Old Trafford known to assist spinners, particularly in the latter half of the match, Kuldeep's variety could offer India better control in the middle overs — an area that has proved challenging in the series so far. Commenting on India's bowling composition, Pandey said the pacers have done well but leaving out Kuldeep has been a missed opportunity. IND vs ENG: Team India's plan, practice schedule and weather forecast in Manchester 'I've spoken to Kuldeep recently, and I told him to stay fit and be ready to deliver whenever given a chance. All we can do is hope — the final decision lies with the coach and the captain. But there's no doubt that Kuldeep is currently one of the finest and most senior spinners in the country. 'Yes, his morale is high, but deep down he must also be wondering when he'll get his chance — after all, he's only human,' Pandey said. 'He can be a crucial asset for Team India in Manchester. I spoke to him; he's focused.' As India aim to bounce back in the fourth Test, calls for Kuldeep Yadav's inclusion are growing stronger — and Manchester might finally mark his return to red-ball cricket.
