Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. XCX, AKA Charli XCX and George Daniel! The couple officially said 'I do' with an intimate ceremony at the Hackney Town Hall in London on July 19, and it was just as chic as you'd expect.
The 1975 donned a classic charcoal Armani suit while the Brat hitmaker wore a draped ivory satin corseted mini dress from Vivienne Westwood paired with Jimmy Choo slingback heels. Of course, she threw on her signature oversized shades for the post-wedding festivities, too, and captured the moment with a series of TikToks.
'When George isn't crying when he sees me walking down the aisle,' Charli captioned the first video, which was set to her 'girl, so confusing' remix with Lorde.
In another clip, she shared behind-the-scenes vibes with her wedding party, including photographer Aidan Zamiri and Mr. XCX himself. She wore a chic off-the-shoulder white mini dress from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello as the group exuded 'bridal party energy' and danced to Far East Movement's 2010 club classic, 'Like a G6.'
George's bandmates Ross MacDonald and Adam Hann were reportedly in attendance for the wedding, whereas The 1975's frontman, Matty Healy, had to skip out on the festivities to attend the premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer, which stars his fiancée and Charli's '360' muse, Gabbriette Bechtel.
While their nuptials remained pretty low-key, Charli and George's after-party brought on the brat-titude. According to The Sun, the reception took place at Italian restaurant Dalla before attendees made their way to Ellie's bar in Dalston.
'Charli's wedding reception was the epitome of Brat,' an insider told the outlet. 'Her and George wanted to keep it very cool, so they shunned cars and walked down Hackney High Street to get to Dalla. The restaurant had closed for them, and they had a massive family-style meal with loads of pasta and champagne. People walking past were stunned when they saw Charli and George having a cheeky pre-dinner cigarette outside.'
And, according to Instagram Stories posted by DJ Alex Chapman, the couple served skinny cigarettes on silver platters for their guests:
Charli revealed that she and George had the idea in mind during a 2024 appearance on the Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain podcast. 'It's so fun,' she said of the wedding planning process, which she admitted made her and her now-husband 'crazy.'
'We're like, 'We're going to have this really epic, like, cigarette station!' and we're going to have people walking around with, like, silver trays of cigarettes,' she jokingly explained.
If ^^^ all of this is any indicator, Charli made a point when she said everything is romantic.

Barbie designers killed in car crash: ‘Barbie is better because they loved the brand'

Barbie designers Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi were killed in a car crash Sunday with the doll brand writing in a tribute, 'Barbie is better because they loved the brand.' The business and romantic partners died after 82-year-old Egidio Ceriano, driving the wrong way on Italy's A4 Turin-Milan highway, collided head-on with their car in Lombardy, according to Italian news outlet ANSA. Ceriano is accused of driving about four miles in the wrong direction before the crash. Amodio Valerio Giurni, a bank employee, and his wife, Silvia Moramacro, were also in the doll designers' car, according to the Italian outlet. Giurni died and Moramacro was hospitalized. Ceriano, who also died in the crash, had renewed his license two years ago, ANSA reported. In the wake of the crash, Mattel, the maker of Barbie, released a statement on Instagram: "The Barbie team is heartbroken by the loss of Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, two treasured creators and Mattel collaborators who brought joy and artistry to the world of Barbie as Magnia2000." Paglino and Grossi's Magina2000 company specialized in custom dolls. Their work earned them the Barbie Best Friend Award from Barbie fashion designer Carol Spencer in 2016, according to the duo's website. The two are known for their celebrity dolls, which included singers Cher and Lady Gaga and actresses Sarah Jessica Parker and Sophia Loren. But the most notable celebrity dolls they created were dedicated to Madonna. After being part of the London 'Simply Madonna' Exhibit in 2009, Paglino and Grossi met the singer in person on 'The Graham Norton Show.' "Their generosity was boundless, creating countless dolls to be auctioned to benefit charities close to fellow collectors' hearts," Mattel's statement read. In 2015, the pair auctioned one of their dolls at the National Barbie Convention for $15,000 for charity. Mattel concluded its statement by writing: 'Barbie is better because they loved the brand, and our beloved collector community is richer for having known them and shared in their passion. Barbie honors their memory with deep gratitude."

Here's why you should never name your baby one of these 3 common names, speech therapist says

Don't name them that. Millennial parents are using the '90s as inspiration for naming their newborns — which is fine, as long as they avoid three names in particular, according to a speech therapist. Chloe Conrad is a speech-language pathologist who often posts informative, helpful videos for parents on her Instagram page. In one of Conrad's recent posts, she shared three specific names parents should never consider naming their baby — and for good reason. 'Three names I would never name my child as a speech therapist: Rory, Rowan and Aurora. They're so hard to say,' the expert point-blank said in the video, which has garnered over 250,000 views. In the caption of the post, she provided some more context on her opinion: 'Basically any name with R and O in it next to each other. I LOVE the way they sound but struggle teaching a child to say them.' If you struggle pronouncing these challenging names — you're not alone. Many people in the comment section agreed with Conrad. The expert advised parents to spare themselves and avoid naming their newborns one of these tricky names. nataliaderiabina – 'My guess was Aurora before I ever heard it! Lol. I have the hardest time saying it! We had a little girl on our soccer team last season and even the parents yelling it sounded off to me! Lol.' 'lol I've always found Rory hard but I just realised I can't say Aurora at all.' 'So true lol all those Rs!' Conrad explained in an interview with why so many people struggle pronouncing these, rather simple-looking names. When there's a word or name that has a R before an O — most people struggle articulating these letters together. 'The W sound is made with rounded lips, and O is also a rounded vowel,' she told the outlet. 'So when you put the two together, it becomes increasingly difficult for a young child to produce clearly.' Thankfully, it seems that most parents are avoiding these tricky-to-pronounce names — and instead are opting for simpler names like Liam and Olivia. Liam has ranked No. 1 for boys' names eight consecutive years — while Olivia has taken the cake for girls' names for six years in a row. Aside from these two, old-fashioned baby names like Theodore, Oliver, Owen, Eleanor, Eloise and Margaret are back in style. 'I think vintage names evoke a sense of nostalgia. I get a lot of clients who pull out their family tree, looking to grandparents and great-grandparents for name inspiration,' Colleen Slagen, author of the forthcoming book 'Naming Bebe,' told Yahoo! Life.
