Reuben Owen opens up on meeting new girlfriend ahead of series debut
Reuben Owen has opened up about his relationship with girlfriend Jessica Ellwood ahead of the launch of his new Channel 5 series
Reuben Owen, notable from Our Yorkshire Farm, has candidly shared details about his romance with girlfriend Jessica Ellwood as they gear up for his latest Channel 5 venture.
The 21-year-old found fame on the family show Our Yorkshire Farm with his parents, Amanda and Clive Owen, alongside his eight siblings.
Following appearances on Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, Reuben is set to grace TV screens again in the new series of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales.
This series will document Reuben's endeavours to establish his own enterprise with his friends' support. The upcoming second season will introduce viewers to Jessica, also 21, who will be joining her boyfriend on television for the first time.
Jessica comes from a farming background similar to Reuben's, and it seems their common passion for agriculture has brought them closer together, reports Leeds Live.
Speaking of their connection, Reuben revealed that their paths crossed at a Young Farmers' event, and they've been inseparable ever since.
"Jess is so happy and chilled out," he expressed to the Telegraph. "We met at a Young Farmers' event, and it was the biggest stroke of luck. She's not bothered by the filming, either, which is great; the telly thing brings a bit of money into the pot, which is useful."
Additionally, Reuben cannot help but laud Jessica's adeptness in agriculture, especially noting her knack for handling a digger like a pro.
In an interview with the Mirror, the young farmer opened up about their bustling life amidst the pastoral setting.
"Last weekend we were felling trees. In terms of our hobbies, I think digging," he remarked. "Jess is very good on the digger. She's better at driving a digger than I am milking cows."
Despite his forays into television, Reuben has confessed that he has no aspirations for fame and avoids social media, choosing instead to concentrate on the farm and expanding his business.
Reuben's home life is equally bustling. He is one of nine siblings, with parents Amanda and Clive, who parted ways in 2022 after two decades of marriage, also raising Raven, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy.

BBC presenter Amanda Byram 'refuses to be shamed' for having a baby at 51
Former Total Wipeout presenter Amanda Byram has defended her decision to have a second child at the age of 51 TV presenter Amanda Byram has opened up about becoming a mother again at the age of 51, and says she "refuses to be shamed" for having a baby later in life. The former Total Wipeout and Big Breakfast host spoke about how her second son, Jett, was born earlier this year after a decades-long fertility journey that involved IVF and multiple miscarriages. In a first-person piece for the Daily Mail, she told readers: "In January this year, after 30 hours of sucking in Royal Sussex County Hospital's finest gas and air, at 51 I finally had the family I'd dreamt of. My second son, Jett, was a month premature, but he felt years overdue." Amanda began freezing her eggs at 40, met her husband Julian at 41, and the pair welcomed their first child, Phoenix, shortly after her 49th birthday. When their first boy was two years old, they decided they wanted to try again. Although both pregnancies were healthy and largely uneventful, she explained that the couple chose to keep them secret to avoid publicly going through possible disappointment after facing many fertility setbacks. When she announced Phoenix's birth three years ago, Amanda was initially showered with love and support, but the presenter was soon hit with online criticism for having a child at her age. One commenter exclaimed: "There's no way she gave birth to this child!" Others accused her of being selfish or predicted her children would suffer because of her age. "Fast-forward 20 years: a young man on the cusp of adulthood with two dead parents," another wrote. "I'm sorry but that's just a fact." Amanda said the most painful criticism came from fellow mothers, which left her questioning whether to even share her age at all with other parents at playgroups or parks. However, she has now embraced being an older mum and decided to speak out against judgements made based on her age. She shared: "I refuse to waste time worrying about what other people think, and even less worrying about what might happen 20 or 30 years from now. "Finally I have maturity and wisdom – and these outstrip any traits I possessed in my younger years." Amanda added that she stays healthy and doesn't drink or smoke, which she believes will give her many happy years with her kids. Beyond staying in shape, the BBC star wants to focus on what she can control: loving her children unconditionally and helping them grow into confident, compassionate adults. She defiantly hit back at naysayers, writing: "I might be a silver-haired lady when I collect my kids from primary school, but I'll be proud of every single strand. "If we don't speak up, how can we expect change? The keyboard critics will win, while society will continue to question and condemn the women who – for one reason or a million others – left it late to start a family."

Prince William 'grieved' after losing brother Harry in 'secret summit' decision
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info When Prince Harry and Meghan declared their intention to step back from Royal duties, the nation was taken aback. The couple found life under Royal scrutiny too much to bear, issuing a bombshell statement about their desire to relinquish their roles as full-time royals. Initially, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had wished to serve the monarchy in a part-time capacity, forgoing the public funds associated with their full-time Royal status, while gaining the freedom to earn independently. A swift response led to an emergency meeting, famously known as the 'Sandringham Summit', convened by the late Queen Elizabeth II. This pivotal gathering brought together King Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, the late Queen, and her private secretary to deliberate on the future path of the Sussexes within the Royal family. READ MORE - Meghan Markle's honest one-word response when asked about meeting Kate Middleton READ MORE - Kate Middleton's brutal response when told she's lucky to have Prince William Channel 5's new documentary, 'Megxit: Inside The Sandringham Summit', delves into the details of what transpired during this crucial meeting. Featuring insights from experts and commentators, the programme explores the negotiations that ultimately led to Harry and Meghan's complete departure from the monarchy. The documentary discloses that following the summit's conclusion, Prince William felt "completely broken", deeply affected by the separation from his brother, reports the Mirror. Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths shed light on the personal toll the Royal split took on Prince William, saying, "William must have felt such a sense of relief, but also great sadness because he was really, officially losing his brother." She further shared intimate details heard at the time: "What I heard at the time was that William started grieving for his brother at that point, really grieving, like he'd lost, not only his mother, years ago, but his brother as well and I think he was just genuinely quite sad, and completely broken". While key discussions unfolded at the Sandringham Summit, Meghan was noticeably absent, stationed back in Canada without the possibility of remote participation – leaving Harry to negotiate with his family alone. Following the intense meeting which led to an unprecedented parting of ways, reports suggest Harry also forfeited his police protection—an issue he profoundly addressed in his memoir 'Spare', expressing a continued, unsuccessful struggle to regain this security for UK visits. Post-summit, Royal insiders reveal that the brothers sought refuge in the privacy of Sandringham's gardens. The event was portrayed differently by various Royal specialists in a documentary. "Harry expected to be treated by a harangue from his brother," claimed Royal biographer Andrew Morton. Yet another perspective was provided by Royal journalist Jack Royston from Newsweek, who disclosed, "Harry got the chance to do what he wanted to do, which was explain himself to his brother," adding insight into Harry's eagerness to clarify his actions to William. "William didn't argue back, he listened," the expert continued, "I think it was important for Harry to feel like he had a chance to say his piece, and it was important for William to come away from it feeling like he didn't turn it into a big argument or shut it down." The frosty relationship between Princes William and Harry is no secret, with the brothers having become virtually estranged in recent years. Although William may have initially felt sorrow over Harry's departure from Royal duties in 2020, the situation deteriorated further following Meghan and Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where they explained their reasons for leaving the UK. In the Netflix documentary series titled after themselves, Harry and Meghan included a scene showing Harry receiving a text from William post-interview. While the contents of the message were not disclosed, Harry appeared visibly moved to the brink of tears upon reading it. The Sussexes have been quite vocal about their issues with the Royal Family, with Harry even admitting in a BBC interview after losing a security appeal that King Charles "won't speak" to him and expressing uncertainty about how much time the monarch has left. Despite Harry's hopes for mending ties with his family, Royal commentator Jennie Bond expressed her doubts on Sky News, stating she "doesn't know where he goes from here". "He's bristling with anger and resentment and mistrust of the royal household, and despair over his father's attitude, I suppose. It's just such a sad and sorry saga. I would hope there might be some kind of reconciliation but although Harry says he wants reconciliation, he doesn't think he can do that now."
