Mom, Dad and Malcolm! Frankie Muniz Reunites with On-Screen Parents Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek
Malcolm is back in the middle again.
Frankie Muniz posted a photo with his on-screen parents Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek on Instagram on Tuesday night, April 22.
"Always good to have Mom and Dad around!!" the actor, 39, captioned the photo.
The day prior, he shared he was at a convention in Mexico, greeting fans of the show, after posting on X that he's at a 'new low' mentally and emotionally, amid setbacks in his recent NASCAR races.
Though the context of Tuesday's picture was unclear, Disney+ announced a four-episode Malcolm in the Middle revival in December 2024, which Muniz followed with a video featuring himself, Cranston and Kaczmarek celebrating the news. The series just began filming in Vancouver, Muniz shared on Instagram this week.
"I have been waiting for this moment for 18 years," Muniz said in his Instagram post announcing the new series. "Let's find out where Malcolm and his family are now."
"Twenty-five years since we premiered Malcolm in the Middle. I'm so excited ... that I may have peed just a little bit," Cranston, 69, joked before Kaczmarek, also 69, added, "What a delight that I get to yell at that kid again! We're very, very excited about coming back together and seeing what this family has been up to."

The reboot will show Malcolm and his daughter as they are "drawn into the family's chaos' when Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party. All three actors will reprise their roles in the beloved sitcom.
Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield will also reprise their respective roles of Francis and Reese in the new series. However, Erik Per Sullivan is not returning as Dewey. Sullivan mostly left acting after Malcolm in the Middle ended in 2006, with his last acting credit coming in 2010. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will take over the role of Dewey.

With Linwood Boomer and the creative team at the helm, these new episodes will have all the laughs, pranks, and mayhem fans loved — along with a few surprises that remind us why this show is so timeless."
Malcolm in the Middle ran from 2000 to 2006, for seven seasons. The show is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

In the years since, Muniz has stayed close to Cranston, reuniting with him frequently and speaking fondly of him in a 2024 interview with PEOPLE.
"Bryan has been always such an incredible human," he said of their relationship, adding that his former costar has "almost become like a father figure to me, I spent probably more time with my fake family on TV than I did with my real family when we were filming."

There's an old Hollywood adage, attributed to comedian W.C. Fields, that advises filmmakers and actors never to work with children or animals. Good thing the makers of the new live-action ' Lilo & Stitch ' didn't listen to such nonsense. In the less than two weeks since its release, the Disney film is one of the most beloved of the year, pulling in more than $600 million at the global box office. It is already the second-biggest Hollywood release of 2025, and has a good shot at supplanting ' A Minecraft Movie ' ($947 million) as the top earner. Obviously, one of the reasons it has become one of Disney's most successful live-action remakes is audiences' warm memories of the 2002 animated film. But a major factor is the undeniable chemistry between 6-year-old Maia Kealoha, who plays Lilo, and the beautifully realized 2025 version of Stitich, the tiny irrepressible alien who lands in Hawaii and becomes Lilo's chaotic companion. The secret to developing that relationship was spearheaded by Industrial Light & Magic, based at the Presidio in San Francisco. As the visual effects team was grappling with how to turn the 2D animated version into a fully fleshed-out CGI character, a crucial decision was made: to aid the-yet-to-be-cast child actress who would play Lilo, the $100 million production would use animatronic puppets to interact with her and serve as a visual guide for the VFX team. 'They immediately had a bond,' animation supervisor Matthew Shumway said during a recent Chronicle visit to ILM. 'Every day there would be cute moments on the set. It was really important to let (Maia) have a friend on set. It was really cute to see how black (Stitich's) nose was by the end of production; it was pretty rubbed off because she kissed it so much.' Shumway, who filmed test footage with his own 6-year-old daughter before Maia was cast, and visual effects supervisor Craig Hammack turned to Legacy Effects, a Los Angeles company that specializes in animatronic puppets (Grogu of ' The Mandalorian '), to create a series of Stitch puppets, including one suited for underwater scenes. Hayes called the child's performance 'huge.' 'A 6-year-old girl, a lot on her shoulders, and there's only one of her, you know?' Hayes said. 'She nailed the character, and she was very professional, and very impressive.' Hammack, a two-time Oscar nominee as visual effects supervisor on ' Deepwater Horizon ' (2017) and ' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ' (2022), agreed. 'Maia was phenomenal — very honest, very focused,' he said. 'It didn't feel like (the production) was being tailored to a child in that everything was able to stay on track and very productive for the time we had with her.' Because Lilo first thinks Stitch is a dog, some of the character's movements were dog-like. In those scenes, a French Bulldog named Dale stood in for Stitch in scenes with Maia. The animal 'always gave a little bit of unpredictability,' Hammack noted, which added spontaneity to the film. Somewhere, the ghost of Fields was spinning. Blending live actors with animated characters has been a thing since at least 'Anchors Aweigh,' the 1945 MGM musical in which Gene Kelly famously danced with Jerry the Mouse. The landmark 1988 film 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' upped the ante. But counterintuitively, because of ILM's cutting-edge technology, 'Lilo & Stitch' was able to deliver something Kelly didn't have: a physical scene partner. 'Our work works because Seth did his job,' Shumway said. 'Without it, we would maybe get a stale performance from Maia. By the time it gets to (the VFX team), we digitally remove (the puppet), but then we've got all the other elements that benefited from the work that he did. Because Maya gave a really good performance, then we can give a really good performance with Stitch. 'So really, it's an old school process, but it's still very modern in how we approach it.'

What's next for influencer Livvy Dunne after college gymnastics career? 'Everything,' she says
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- With her college gymnastics days behind her, influencer and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Livvy Dunne is moving on with life — but that doesn't mean she'll be far from the public eye. Dunne, who has more than 13 million followers on social media, created a multimillion-dollar personal brand while competing as a gymnast at LSU. Now she's trying to help other female athletes do the same, helping to educate them about name, image and likeness deals and personal branding. 'I'm going to miss gymnastics so much because it has been a part of me for almost 20 years,' Dunne told The Associated Press at AthleteCon, where she had a speaking engagement. 'What's next? Everything. I want to do all of the things that I couldn't do while I was a gymnast' because of the time constraints of being a student-athlete. 'So there are some really cool opportunities — stay tuned,' she added. Dunne didn't disclose any details, but it's clear she plans to maintain her personal brand, which she developed along with the help of older sister and manager Julz Dunne. AthleteCon CEO Sam Green, who has helped land more than 1,000 NIL deals, invited the Dunne sisters to speak to college athletes as part of a two-day seminar. Athletes met with representatives from social media platforms including TikTok, Snapchat and Meta, created live content and competed for NIL deals. They learned how to turn a creative idea into a brand. More than 100 athletes attended, with another 150 turned away because of space constraints. Green's company slogan is 'all athletes are creators.' 'I'm really big on giving athletes the tools to monetize their brand,' Green said. Few, if any, have done that better than Livvy Dunne. She helped the Tigers to the 2024 national championship as a junior before missing this past season because of an injury. But she was better known on social media, where she amassed more than 8 million followers on TikTok and 5.3 million on Instagram before leaving LSU. Advertisers took notice. She was the highest-paid female college athlete across all sports during her time with the Tigers, earning more than $4.1 million, according to On3. She worked with brands like Nautica, Crocs and Sports Illustrated, where she recently did a split on the catwalk on a 'triple dare.' Her boyfriend is Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher Paul Skenes, who played baseball at LSU. 'She's it,' Green said. 'She's the road map. She's the blueprint and she was the first to do it. The Dunnes are so innovative and they have done it with genuine intent. Livvy is the definition of NIL, in my opinion, at least true NIL and what it was meant to be from the start.' Dunne said navigating the ever-changing world of NIL was like living in the wild West. 'I learned that you don't have to do one thing and be great at that one thing,' Dunne said. 'You can do multiple different things and find success in tons of different areas.' But there were trying times as she balanced classes, competition and the constant demand for multiple daily social media posts. She remembers walking into LSU gymnastics coach Jay Clark's office in tears because of stress about her schedule. She fought through it and is glad she did. 'I hope people here take away that you are more than your sport and everybody deserves to capitalize on their name, image and likeness,' Dunne said. 'Curiosity is key. Ask questions, network, and just create because, who knows, the sky is the limit. It got me to where I am today. Don't just consume, but create. 'Keep posting,' she added. 'The audience is there. People are interested. They want to see what you have to offer. Everyone's story is different and has to be told.'

Disney Plus Reveals Updated MCU Timeline
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown exponentially since the release of Iron Man in 2008. Now, nearly two decades later in 2025, the MCU timeline has been updated via Disney Plus. Fans can now see how more than fifty titles in the multimedia franchise are chronologically organized by the studio. This updated version of the MCU timeline now includes Captain America: Brave New World which was recently added to the streaming service. For fans that want to enjoy the follow-up to the original Captain America trilogy and its television spin-off The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , they can now do so in chronological order if they're interested in having one crazy marathon. Of course, the list doesn't yet include the newly-released film Thunderbolts , though fans can rest assured that the film will be the most recent title to occur chronologically on the list. It's also worth noting that Spider-Man: No Way Home isn't yet available on Disney Plus, so that particular title is missing.
