Alison Brie Teases Evil-Lyn and Skeletor's 'Interesting' Relationship in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE — GeekTyrant
While promoting her new horror flick Together , the actress teased her 'deliciously villainous' turn as Evil-Lyn in the live-action He-Man movie, hinting at a complex dynamic with Skeletor.
Production on the film wrapped in June, and now we're all waiting for a trailer. The film reimagines the iconic '80s animated series with an impressive cast, and a grounded origin story for its hero. But it's not just Prince Adam stealing the spotlight. Brie's take on Evil-Lyn might end up being one of the movie's biggest surprises.
Speaking with HeyUGuys, Brie opened up about embracing the full-on villain role, saying:
"I was incredibly excited to be a part of it. I've never played a true villain before. I've played human beings with villainous traits but Evil-Lyn is so deliciously villainous — she has so much fun with it.
'And I really love her relationship with Skeletor. It's very interesting. So all those things made the role really fun to play and I'm so excited for people to see it.
'I do think that generations that grew up watching He-Man are going to love it and I think it will be really fun to introduce younger generations."
In classic Masters of the Universe lore, Evil-Lyn has always stood out as Skeletor's most formidable ally — and occasional rival. A powerful sorceress with her own ambitions, she's never just followed orders.
Often plotting behind Skeletor's back, her loyalty is always questionable and her motives never simple. Some iterations even suggest a deeper, more tragic past between the two characters, adding emotional weight to their villainous partnership.
Stepping into the role of Skeletor is Jared Leto, while Nicholas Galitzine will wield the Power Sword as Prince Adam/He-Man.
Directed by Travis Knight ( Bumblebee ), the film is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios in collaboration with Mattel Films. The battle for Eternia hits theaters on June 5, 2026.
This new take on the story is set to shake up the traditional He-Man origin. The film reportedly kicks off with a young Prince Adam on Earth after being separated from Eternia. With the Power Sword lost and his memories buried, Adam grows up unaware of his legacy.
Two decades later, he rediscovers the magical weapon, triggering a journey back to his true home, where Skeletor's forces threaten to plunge the realm into darkness.
Alongside Brie, the cast features Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, James Purefoy as King Randor, and Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena Glenn.

‘The Penguin' Team Had Talks About Bringing in Robert Pattinson's Batman
Almost a year has passed since audiences were first exposed to HBO's The Penguin, and to call it a success would be an understatement. The show didn't just find fans among critics and audiences alike; everyone involved has been swimming in awards ever since, with its recent 24 Emmy nominations being the latest. And yet, before its release, many were skeptical of the show. Why would we want to see this story? And did it make sense to do a Batman villain story without Batman himself? To that last point, showrunner Lauren LeFranc and producer Matt Reeves were cautious, too. In a new interview, LeFranc reveals she and Reeves discussed the potential of bringing Batman, played by Robert Pattinson, on the show. 'Matt and I talked about it a lot,' LeFranc told the Hollywood Reporter. 'It just didn't feel necessary. It felt like we'd be wrenching him in just to say we had the Batman in our show, when in reality, I feel like my goal at least was always to create rich enough, compelling characters that you weren't desperate to see him, which I know is a tall order because so many people love Batman, and Rob Pattinson is so good as Batman. But, yes, we were doing something a little different. We're through the lens of Oz. We're on the streets. There's a gang war happening. We always would say, 'Batman's up high looking down on Gotham, and Oz is in the muck, wanting to get up there and to achieve a level of power.' So, yes, we talked about it, but honestly, we just didn't want to interfere with the story that we had.' Of course, that is until the final shot of the season when Oz, having successfully taken over the underworld of Gotham, sees the Bat-symbol in the sky. Batman is still out there, and LeFranc admits the show was also always a direct bridge to The Batman Part II. 'The intention of our first season always was, we're launching Oz into the second film,' she said. 'And so we couldn't air a second season until after Matt's movie comes out.' But don't get too excited by that quote. LeFranc also says, 'There's no current status update' on the second season, and if it ever were to happen, it would have to be after Part II and something truly spectacular on its own. 'We have to feel confident we can top ourselves, and that's something that's really important to Colin Farrell and me, especially,' she said. 'Otherwise, we don't want to do something again if it's not going to be excellent. We were always meant to be a limited series. So, pivoting to a second season is just different—it's not something we ever really talked about.' Basically, it was more likely that Robert Pattinson's Batman would appear on the show than that a second season might happen. At least they talked about Batman. Thank You, Jimmy Fallon, for Making the Google Pixel 10 Event Fun
You might not know that Google has its own line of Pixel smartphones, but you probably do know Jimmy Fallon. I'm so pleased to report to you all today that Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show, absolutely stole the show while hosting today's Made by Google keynote. In the first 10 minutes of the keynote, Fallon brought back excitement, poked fun at the absurdities of a tech event and ushered in an authenticity that is, frankly, usually lacking from the tech CEOs who usually kick off these kind of events. As a Swiftie, he had me almost immediately when he called today's Pixel hardware drop a "Taylor Swift album announcement for nerds." (He's right, by the way.) At today's Made by Google event, the company dropped a whole lot of new hardware, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 2A earbuds and Pixel watch 4. Fallon wasn't the only celebrity to make a surprise appearance. The show kicked off with a star-studded "I'm passing the phone to" video that began with Alex Cooper and included Lando Norris, the Jonas Brothers and Steph Curry. Curry apparently uses Gemini AI for basketball, as does Norris, and the Jonas Brothers filmed a music video using the Pixel 10's new cameras and AI tools. But none of these guests compared to Fallon, who acted as possibly the first ever hype man for Pixel hardware, shouting the names of features as Adrienne Lofton, Google's Global Vice President of Product Marketing, introduced the new hardware. We also got a taste of Fallon's late night show in an intimate living room set with two chairs and a podcast mic, where he kicked off the event interviewing Google's Senior Vice President of Platforms and Devices Rick Osterloh about the future of Pixel phones. Google's decision to include these people is one of the smartest keynote redesigns I've seen. Having Fallon host the keynote meant we got so much less jargon. While tech enthusiasts and experts are fluent in AI buzzwords and concepts like walled gardens, Fallon gave Google the opportunity to explain why these updates matter for real-life Pixel users -- something that can sometimes get lost as product reps run through all the new upgrades in traditional keynotes. But it's more than just good-natured fun. All of the new hardware and software drops during the last few years have focused on AI. While tech companies, including Google, push us to integrate AI in our daily lives and delegate our mundane tasks and some critical thinking, it was refreshing to bring back a little humanity to this next generation of tech. Jimmy Fallon, if you or one of your employees ever end up reading this, allow me to speak on behalf of all of us tech nerds and say: Thank you. And Apple, you have one month to nail down Stephen Colbert for your iPhone 17 event.
