Zerodha's Nithin Kamath expects upto 20% drop in broking biz this year, eyes ₹10,000 crore in revenue for FY26: Report
He ruled out any change in brokerage rates. Kamath reaffirmed the leading domestic brokerage's long-term ambition to become a full-fledged financial services conglomerate, including entering banking. Kamath is a finalist for the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 award.
While speaking to the business news channel, Kamath said Zerodha is not giving up on its aspiration for a banking licence. 'We have enough cash to do whatever we want to do,' he said, reiterating that the company sees no reason to go public. 'Being listed on exchanges is tough for a company like us.'
Zerodha charges ₹ 200 for online account opening for individuals. Annual maintenance charges range from Re 0 to ₹ 300 based on holdings. For non-individual accounts, opening costs ₹ 500 and AMC ranges from ₹ 300 to ₹ 1,000 per year. Further, BSDA holders may be eligible for reduced or zero AMC depending on their holdings.

Earlier this year, he shared a video of himself doing push-ups with his colleagues at Rainmatter, as part of a collaboration with Sisters In Sweat, a sports and wellness community for women. Mr Kamath's dedication to fitness is particularly notable given his recent health challenges, including a mild stroke in February. He said, although he does not know what exactly caused it, he thinks that a combination of factors, including his father's death, poor sleep, exhaustion and overworking, could be the reasons. Notably, Nithin Kamath is the co-founder of Zerodha. He founded the brokerage company in 2010 along with his brother Nikhil Kamath. Their venture capital fund and incubator, Rainmatter, invests in fintech firms and ventures that promote financial inclusion.

Bharath asks Kurnool AMC to work for development of market
Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath asked the newly sworn-in members of the Agriculture Market Committee (AMC) to work for the development of the market in Kurnool. Mr. Bharath was participating in the swearing-in ceremony of AMC Chairperson Golconda Azmath Bee, Vice-Chairperson Seshagiri Shetty and other directors of the committee on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the posts of AMC Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Directors had been sold for money in the past. 'I am not a person who sells posts' for money. I had promised to honour the leaders and cadre who work hard and appointing Azmath Bee as the Chairperson stands as an example,' Mr Bharath asserted. The Minister said that some people with vested interests were trying to distance Muslims from him, but he treated all communities, castes and religion equally.
