Presently in its eighth generation, the Volkswagen Golf GTI is available in Kings Red Premium, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White Premium, and Moonstone Grey color options. The vehicle maintains the sporty look synonymous with the model found in the international market. This is further highlighted by a unique design for the 18-inch alloy wheels, black accents on the front bumper, and a single exhaust outlet. Additionally, the GTI badge is located on the front door with a Matrix LED headlamp on either side.
In terms of the interior, it features a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that utilizes voice commands powered by Chat GPT. Furthermore, the vehicle comes with a GTI-specific digital display adorned with red accents. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multi-zone climate control, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, paddle shifters, along with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI in India is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 hp of power and 370 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that delivers power to the front wheels. It is equipped with an electronically controlled front-axle differential lock. Volkswagen claims that the Golf GTI can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically capped at 250 kmph.

Wipro and Warburg amplify talks for Harman India arm
Mumbai: Global private equity firm Warburg Pincus and Wipro Technologies are in advanced negotiations to acquire the digital transformation solutions (DTS) business of US-headquartered audio and connected technologies firm Harman in India, said people privy to the discussions. The deal is expected to value the business at about $500 million (Rs 4,375 crore), they told ET on condition of anonymity. Deutsche Bank is advising Harman, a wholly owned subsidiary of South Korean conglomerate Samsung Electronics, on the proposed transaction. A Warburg Pincus spokesperson declined to comment, while queries emailed to Harman and Wipro Technologies did not elicit a response till press time. Harman—known for audio brands JBL, Harman Kardon and Infinity—designs and engineers connected products and solutions for automakers and consumers worldwide. Offerings include connected car systems, audio-visual products and enterprise automation solutions. The company began operations in India in 2008 and currently employs more than 9,000 people across eight cities. It has been working with Bengaluru-based Wipro Technologies through a strategic engineering collaboration since the year it entered the country, including the Harman India Development Centre at Wipro's facilities in Bengaluru and Chennai. Samsung Electronics acquired Harman International Industries in 2017 for about $8 billion. While the automotive segment remains Harman's primary revenue driver, the company's DTS unit in India has a strong presence across healthcare, communications and industrial applications. Delhi-Gurgaon eway set for its first major overhaul, work to start next month
Gurgaon: Work to recarpet and upgrade the 28km Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway — from Rao Tula Ram Marg in the capital to Kherki Daula in the city — will begin next month, as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has finalised the contractor for the Rs 160 crore project. The expressway will undergo its first major overhaul since opening in 2008. NHAI officials said on Wednesday that the letter of acceptance has been issued to the contractor, and machinery and manpower mobilisation will begin shortly. The tender for the project was floated in May this year. Key improvements include rectifying road geometry at accident-prone spots, upgrading lighting to at least 40 lux (intensity), and replacing metal crash barriers with reinforced concrete ones to reduce fatalities in collisions. Service roads in Narsingpur, notorious for flooding during rains, will be reconstructed using ready-mix concrete to eliminate frequent repairs. The recarpeting of service lanes aims to improve traffic flow during diversions. The project also includes improved signage and lane markings. Commuters welcomed the move but remain cautious about timely completion. "If done efficiently, this will be a huge relief. While traffic police issue challans to drivers of two-wheelers plying on the expressway, some sections of the service lanes are not even motorable.
