TGANB busts international drug ring, seizes Rs 30 lakh worth narcotics
Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Narcotic Bureau (TGANB), in a joint operation with Narsingi Police, has apprehended three individuals, including a 22-year-old Nigerian national, from a flat in Manikonda, seizing 107 grams of cocaine and 25 grams of Ecstasy pills with an estimated street value of Rs 30 lakh.
The police conducted the raid at Anuhar Coral Bells, Road No 20, Alkapuri Township, acting on intelligence that pointed to a Goa–Hyderabad drug link. The arrested individuals were identified as Chukwumeka Wisdom Onyeka, also known as Victor Chukwu, Major Cartel, a B Sc (IT) student from Gokul Global University, Gujarat, and a native of Imo State, Nigeria; Gopishetty Rajesh, 40; and Bommadevara Veera Raju, 32, from West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh.
It was revealed that Victor Chukwu had been previously arrested while attempting to sell cocaine, and his Sudanese passport was seized at that time.
Rajesh and Veera Raju, who were initially drug consumers, reportedly developed contacts with high profile individuals and began purchasing drugs at premium prices. Lured by the prospect of high profits, they continued drug peddling even after being arrested earlier by Raidurgam Police. They made multiple trips to Goa to procure narcotics and subsequently supplied them to elite circles in Hyderabad.
According to police, on May 29, Phani Raj, a regular customer, hosted a rave party at a farmhouse in Aziz Nagar, Moinabad. Rajesh delivered 5 grams of cocaine after meeting him in Mokila. Two days later, on May 31, Rajesh travelled to Mangalagiri and delivered a further 15 grams of cocaine to Phani Raj.
Police stated that the syndicate is operated by 'Max', a Nigerian drug lord who manages supply chains from abroad, allegedly utilising individuals on student visas and fake identities.

Tomar, the owner of an Indore apartment where the victim's wife, Sonam, hid, is accused of involvement in destroying crucial evidence. INDORE: Madhya Pradesh police on Monday detained another accused in the murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi in Gwalior, on the request of a Shillong police SIT that was camping in Indore investigating the murder that rocked the nation. Lokendra Tomar, owner of the apartment in Indore, where Raja's wife and main accused Sonam stayed in hiding, was detained from Gwalior's Gandhinagar area. Tomar reportedly rented the building to Shilom James, a contractor who was also arrested in connection with the destruction of crucial evidence. A team from Gwalior crime branch arrived at MK Plaza, Gandhinagar, caught Lokendra Tomar, and took him with them. Vivek Siyem, East Khasi Hills SP (Meghalaya), said, "A splinter team of Shillong police on Monday left from Indore to Gwalior to formally arrest the accused person, who will then be produced before acourt in Gwalior for transit remand." He is the landlord of the flat at Dewas Naka, where Sonam had taken shelter while hiding in Indore, the SP said adding he had left Madhya Pradesh on June 16 for Uttarakhand. From Uttarakhand, Tomar had proceeded to Gwalior on June 22. 'The accused is wanted in connection with the destruction and concealment of material/ evidence which are vital to the case,' he said. Shillong SIT had arrested three accused in connection to tampering with evidence and other charges. 'All the three will most likely be brought on Wednesday to Shillong,' Siyem said. Shillong police, which already arrested James and the building guard Balveer Ahirwar, produced them before a court on Sunday, which sent them on a 7-day transit remand. During interrogation, James reportedly revealed that he leased the building from Tomar for Rs 3 lakh per month and housed various tenants there, including Sonam. After Sonam's arrest, Tomar allegedly pressured James to immediately remove and burn the bag from the flat. This bag is believed to have contained crucial evidence, including Raja and Sonam's mobile phones. On Sunday, a special investigation team (SIT) from Shillong police, accompanied by officials from Indore crime branch and an FSL team, took James to Hare Krishna Vihar Colony, where he reportedly burned the bag in a vacant plot. Police intend to send the seized charred remains of the bag for forensic analysis. This examination aims to identify what else was burned along with the bag and determine how long ago the destruction occurred. There is suspicion that SIM cards, electronic devices, and other items were also incinerated.

Lured by online betting, BTech student stages his own abduction in Cuttack
CUTTACK: In a bid to extract money from his parents to invest in online betting, a 22-year-old BTech student allegedly faked his own abduction and tried to get Rs 50,000 from them. The youth, Shubham Samal, was caught hold by police after a two-day intensive search, on Monday. Police said Samal, a resident of Gadasantri within Banarpal police limits in Angul, is pursuing BTech at Silicon Institute of Technology in Bhubaneswar. The cops had began an investigation from Saturday after receiving a complaint from Shubham's elder sister Rupali. As per Rupali, Shubham had come to her residence at OSAP 6th Battalion campus in OMP Square in Cuttack a few days back. She stated that Shubham had called their father up on June 20 alleging he had been kidnapped by three unknown persons from OMP Square and they were demanding Rs 50,000 for his release. Subsequently, his father had also sent the said amount to Shubham via UPI. In the meantime, police had formed a special team and managed to trace Shubham after a two-day search from Madhupatana near Press Chhak area. During interrogation, Shubham confessed to have scripted his own kidnapping to get some money for investing in an online betting application. 'Shubham had left his sister's place on June 20 and went to Press Chhak from where he called his father up alleging he had been kidnapped. He was involved in online betting and wanted to invest more money in the app. Hence, he faked his own abduction,' said a senior police officer adding, Shubham was eventually handed over to his family after being issued a warning not to indulge in such acts in the future.

Three, including minor, held for brutal double murder of elderly women in Tenali
GUNTUR: In a significant breakthrough, police arrested three individuals—including a minor—in connection with the brutal double murder of two elderly women in Tenali. The accused have been identified as Peravali Kusuma Kumari (46), Illa Gopi Krishna (25), and a 17-year-old juvenile, Sheikh Abdul Kalam. The victims, Dasari Rajeshwari (59) and Peta Anjamma (70), were widows living together in a two-storey house on Parimi Road, Mallapadu. On June 19, the accused allegedly entered their home posing as potential tenants and murdered them using a metal rod and a cotton towel. They then fled with cash and gold ornaments. Crucial CCTV footage monitored remotely by Rajeshwari's daughter in Chennai helped identify the suspects. Tenali Police formed special teams under DSP B Janardhan Rao's supervision and tracked the culprits using both technical inputs and physical evidence, following instructions from Guntur District SP. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime. Notably, Kusuma Kumari was also involved in a previous murder for gold. Police recovered Rs 34,500 in cash, a gold chain, imitation bangles, an auto-rickshaw used in the crime, gloves, shoes, and other evidence. All three were produced before court on June 23 and remanded to judicial custody. Guntur SP praised CI S Ramesh Babu, SI SK Kareemulla, and their teams for swift and effective investigation.
