Russian Forces Destroy Ukrainian "Sapsan" Missile Storage Site

Moscow - Saba: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that Russian operational-tactical aviation destroyed a storage site for the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Sapsan operational-tactical missiles. Sputnik quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying in a statement: "Russian operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile forces, and artillery destroyed the storage site for the Sapsan operational-tactical missiles and their components. They also targeted the infrastructure of a military airfield, production plants, drone storage warehouses, and a fuel station of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as enemy manpower and equipment concentrations in 142 locations." Last week, the Russian Federal Security Service reported that, through joint efforts with the Russian Armed Forces, Ukraine's plans to produce the Sapsan operational-tactical ballistic missile systems for strikes deep inside Russia were thwarted. The Russian Federal Security Service added that Ukraine was planning to use missiles to launch strikes deep inside Russia, explaining that "Ukraine secretly developed its own missile program using technology and stockpiles left over from the Soviet Union." The statement added: "Units of the Russian Northern Group continued their advance deep inside the enemy's defenses, targeting personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in several areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The enemy's losses amounted to approximately 180 servicemen, combat vehicles, and several field guns. An electronic warfare station and four ammunition and material depots were destroyed." The Russian Defense Ministry added: "Units of the Russian Center Group continued their advance deep inside the enemy's defenses, targeting personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in several areas of the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy's losses amounted to approximately 420 servicemen, combat vehicles, several field guns, and an Israeli-made radar station." The Russian Defense Ministry indicated in its statement that "Units of the Northern Group's forces... The Russian "West" group improved its positions and advanced deep into the enemy's defenses, targeting Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment in several areas of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic. The enemy suffered approximately 220 servicemen, combat vehicles, and several field artillery pieces. Three electronic warfare stations and three ammunition and material depots were destroyed. The Russian Ministry of Defense added that units of the "East" group of forces continued their advance deep into the enemy's defenses, targeting Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment in the Zaporizhzhia region and the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy suffered approximately 230 servicemen, combat vehicles, and several field artillery pieces. According to the statement, "Russian air defense systems shot down four guided aerial bombs and 300 Ukrainian drones."

Russian security announces destruction of Ukrainian facilities for production of missile systems

Moscow - Saba: The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced today Thursday that, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, it had thwarted a secret Ukrainian missile program aimed at developing "Sapsan" ballistic missiles capable of targeting deep inside Russia. Russian authorities confirmed that the joint operation resulted in the destruction of Ukrainian facilities specialized in military industries, which were being used to develop and manufacture these missiles. They pointed out that the preemptive information obtained by the security services allowed them to determine the precise coordinates of these facilities before carrying out the strikes with high accuracy. The RT channel quoted the Russian Federal Security Service as saying in a statement that 'Ukraine relied in the development of this missile program on technologies and military stockpiles remaining from the Soviet era, within what it described as 'a secret project to enhance its long-range offensive capabilities.'' The statement added: 'With authorization from NATO representatives, Ukraine planned to use the 'Sapsan' system to launch an attack deep into Russian territory, but thanks to the joint efforts of the Russian Federal Security Service and the Russian Armed Forces, the plans to develop the Ukrainian missile program were thwarted.' Moscow confirmed that the entire technical base for the production of Ukraine's long-range ballistic missiles was completely destroyed, which constitutes 'a decisive preemptive strike' to prevent any future threat of this kind. Reports indicated that the production of "Sapsan" missiles was taking place at defense facilities located in the Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions in eastern Ukraine, which were targeted in the recent military operation.
